We have SOME players now.
Do you honestly believe you can spend two years ripping a team down to the bare bones and build it all back in one off season?
Let's be real here. If Hue has a terrible season, he's gone. And I have zero problem with that. If changing coaches mid season actually accomplished anything maybe I could see your point.
But it doesn't. You bring in a temporary band aid that won't be here next year and have to start all over next season anyway.
We have a new OC, all new RB's an entire new QB room, a new LT and many new WR's. And you're ready to blow everything up after week three?
This fan base never ceases to amaze me.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I understand that you want Hue fired, but I do not.
I am tired of starting over. I think it would be a bad idea to fire Hue this early in the season as well. I don't think he'll actually be fired this week either. But if we lose this week, fans are going to be uncontrollable. It's going to start all the talk about Hue being on the hot seat in the media. The Baker chants are going to be full force. It's going to be the discussion every week. A win puts a band-aid on everything for a while. OldColdDog has a point that the Browns deserve credit for how well they've played in the first two games. I still think we are close to a 500 team, but our fans and especially our media are impatient from all the losing over the years and like to run everyone out on a rail. Contrary to what you and tweedle Pitdawg think, I don't think Haslam or anyone else in the Browns organization reads me on this board and values my influence. I'm not posting what I want to happen, I'm posting what will happen. You two can talk about it at your next he-man Sashi hater's meeting next Tuesday.

Head coaches who are not fired when a new GM is hired rarely survive (I went through and looked at this during the off-season, I will try and find the post). Even if Jackson made/makes it through this year, then if he failed next year it would be the same thing all over again. The guillotine is hanging over his head, it's a matter of when, not if, it falls.

Hope we win. What are your pronouncements based on? I don't think Hue has a bunch of leash this season, but not sure this is make or break at all. I presume if we win this one, the next prediction comes out just like this?
bad record. we have looked better IMO.

bad record. we have looked better IMO. Mostly what I hear around me at work and with friends and even on this board. Baker rumblings started week 1 and "Hue was an idiot for starting Taylor". Week 2 was all the kicker's fault until people heard he was hurt and then it was back to Hue's fault again. (In my opinion this was Hue's best coached game. There weren't many stupid penalties or clock management issues.) We knew before the season started that Hue was on a short leash. Our last win was December of 2016 and most coaches just don't get that much slack. I think we are playing good football and we just need more time for our new offense to gel a bit. I think we should beat the Jets this week and we should beat the Raiders next week. The problem with football though, is that any team can win on any given Sunday and a fluke win by the Jets this week is a death blow that Hue won't overcome fast enough. Fans will get militant if we lose this week! If we beat the Jets, a fluke win by the Raiders won't do as much damage. Hue will have the monkey off his back already. People will relax a bit. If we lose to both the Jets and the Raiders, I don't think Hue will be around for the Ravens game. If for some reason he managed to last for the Ravens game, I'm not so sure we'll match up to the Ravens very well. Then it's the Chargers, a hot Bucs team, and the Steelers again. It's just a downward spiral if we lose this week.

IMO, it's not make or break for Hue, it is make or break for the players. They know they have the talent, it's about put up or shut up.

Like it or not, this is a must win game for Hue.Fans are not going to settle for anything less and losing to a rookie QB that we could have drafted will send people over the edge.
Thursday games are usually lower scoring games with limited game plans. Teams that run well and play good defense usually win. That could be us or that could be NYJ. If it's NYJ expect the chants to start Baker and to fire Hue.
Doing either would be a step back this early in the season, but the pressure is going to be hot and heavy from Haslam on down if we lose this week. True. Totally agree. please win tonight.

I don't think it's Hue's last game if he doesn't win tonight (I don't think it should be, either), but I think if we lose, he will get fired this year. He just looked defeated after the Saints game...if this ball gets rolling, I don't know if Hue will be able to stop it. That's why this game is a make or break game for Hue...he needs this as much as the players.
At some point, you have to win games...being competitive isn't enough. We've had plenty of games we could have won the last 2+ years, but we just don't execute when we need it the most. In my opinion, that falls on the head coach.

We got to win games like this: ???
I guess cause its the first game we actually are favored...by 3 true, we got to start winning all games - we have shown that we SHOULDA/COULDA won both games that we were underdogs by 7 and 8 points at the beginning. Tied one and heart break on the other.
We have shown that we CAN win ANY GAME...Favorite Underdog.
Point blank we got to win...PERIOD

I am staying downtown tomorrow night, so I can even stop in some of the bars and partake in some of the post game festivities! Peen, new restaurant for you to keep in mind in Downtown CLE when you're in town for a Browns game. Excellent place and in a very cool building. Marble Room On the topic of thread, the Browns need a win tonight or the pressure is going to continue to mount. Hell, on Cleveland Browns Daily that is produced by the Cleveland Browns, they said this is the most important game that Hue has coached since his time with the Browns. I'm confident the Browns win. A loss would be ugly up there tonight.

I think it's probably true that Hue's seat gets hotter if we lose tonight. I don't agree with it, as I rarely agree with the talking heads... but I expect that's what they'll say (fire him now) if we lose.
I really hope we have more patience than this. I have issues with Hue, particularly things that he has said in the past, some of his decisions, etc. I'm not looking to rehash all that. I like how the team is looking right now. I like how the young talent that we've brought in has already shown improvement, to varying degrees.
I'm just looking for competitive games, noticeable/significant and sustained improvement of play on the field over time and in all phases of our team. I think we've seen that so far, so I'm not going to flush that down the drain because of one loss. We are not far enough removed from the extreme overhaul that has taken place (nor is it complete). Bailing now would be insane.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Quite frankly I don't care about Hue one way or the other.....if he can win here great keep him, and if not let him go AT SEASON'S END!!! As some have said there is no benefit from firing him after week 3. If that is the rationale they should have canned him last year.
What I do care about is the Browns, and I do believe this week is huge, and will go a long way deciding how many wins we will get this year. I've never been delusional enough to think this team can go anything better than 6-10, but a loss here really could spiral the season out of control, and the culture rebuild we are attempting.
Screw the Hue question, this is a must win for the BROWNS.
Against logic, the most effective armor is willful ignorance.

I think there is a 0% chance Jackson gets fired this week no matter the result of the game. I do think if it’s a lopsided loss the ball will start to roll against him.

Zero chance he would (and should) be fired if we lose tonight. But the conversations will take place, no doubt. And so will the "Start Baker" conversation. And based on how we lose, I might be leading the Baker stuff.

I think there is a 0% chance Jackson gets fired this week no matter the result of the game. I do think if it’s a lopsided loss the ball will start to roll against him. This. I understand that some fans have made their mind up regarding Hue. 1-31-1 is a hard record to accept or feel warm and fuzzy about. And if you have made your mind up - then I understand that every chance you get you try to create a narrative that this is a "must win" or "Hue has to go" week.... But I gotta say it's old and I just want to get behind the team and see them win. It's almost like some folks feel it's more important for Hue to be fired than to root for a win for the team. I'm expecting a win. I'm hoping for a BIG win - by more than 2 TDs. Jet's D is good - but I think so is our D. I think we have much better pieces on Offense. TD's from Njoku (who has to turn the corner right?) Hyde and Landry.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

But a 7 or 8 win improvement from one year to the next should have him keeping his job.

The Browns need to start winning games period. Tonight's game is very winnable. If they don't win, then Jackson's seat should be so hot he can't even sit down. I predict the Browns will win and the fridge will be opened!

Yeah, changing the HC during the regular season will help that. lmao Certainly can't do much worse than 1-32-1.

Perhaps, but firing the coach anytime soon is punting on the season. Not a good thing.

Mark my words: I guarantee you that at some point in another abysmal season Todd Haley will be interim head coach.
On the other hand, he might be the best guy to go forward with.

We're in Week 3. Has a coach ever even be fired that early in the season? Don Coryell was originally an interim coach?!?!?!? Mary Schottenheimer too! And Jeff Fisher! And Marv Levy!

Not a make or break week for Hue.
If anything, we should be trying to figure out how its possible for a HC to lose so many games, but yet his players never give up on him.
Steelers with the same record, and their locker room is in disarray.
