He was picked 1st and was better than any of the rookies in college and preseason and they are all starting Comparing Mayfield to Darnold or Rosen isn't really fair. those guys are mostly pocket passers, Darnold tries to scamble when he being chased but he really isn't a runner and would prefer to throw from a pocket. rosen is a proptypical pocket passer. Mayfield not so much. This is not to say Mayfield won't be good. He may end up being a Drew Brees kinda QB, but I think Mayfield has a much larger learning curve simply because of his height, he is going to have to figure out how to create throwing lanes that Rosen or Darnold can just toss over their OL. I am fully confident if we can by some miracle sit Mayfield this year, just line fine wine, Mayfield will age and probably turn into something really great. our OL is not playing well this year, you really want to risk this rookie behind that line that Tyalor is running for his life? What good cna come otu of getting Mayfield hit blitzed, and shell shocked due to lack of proper protection?
