I don't see two that we can win.
Nor do I. Nope.

Wait a few days dawg ... Its pretty hard for some to see all the positives right now ... That was ONE BRUTAL ASS LOSS ... Based off the last few years and the expectations after last week and then the way we lost ... Its gonna take a few days before most can see all the positives and how unfortunate we truely were ... Just give it a few bro ...

I think your rose-colored glasses are preventing you from seeing how bad this defense is now.
Without Mitchell, we're stuck running a ton of zone coverage, and we SUCK at it. This is a case where a Haden truly would help us, or even a Leigh Bodden, because they are/were rock stars in zone coverage.
If we're going to be stuck playing zone, then we need to sign some CB's that can play it effectively, because nobody seemed to know how to defend their area yesterday.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

j/c...
There is no reason the Browns should not compete with a chance to win all of their remaining games (obviously they won't win them all) save for maybe Kansas City. Otherwise, I expect them to be in every game.
Offense should continue to put up points. Defense needs to regroup.
Terrance Mitchell was very solid, but he's not a 3-4 game swing in the win/loss column. Coaches need to have the next man up prepared and ready to go.
Excuses can always be made for why the Browns can't win. Enough of the excuses at some point, go win some football games.

the zone defense is a big time problem for us, which is why they carved us up the 2nd half. Plus, it diminishes Ward's value and strength.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Without Mitchell, we're stuck running a ton of zone coverage, and we SUCK at it.. Never been accused of having rose colored glasses before .... now i have hear it all ... *LOL* ... Hmmm .... i just re-watched the game ..... Mitchell left a few minutes in to the 2nd quarter ... at that point i believe the score was 9 - 7 .. may have been 17 -7 ... lets re-cap the FAIDERS SCORING with and w/o Mitchell ... And no .. losing MITCHELL IS huge ... don’t go there .... not saying its not ... it is ... with that said ... everyone sees 45 and freaks out .... well lets look at those pesky little details ... 1st td drive = 0 yards .... pick 6 ... That was allwith Mitchell in ... the rest is without him i believe ... 2nd TD drive - a longone ... D 100% on this one ... 3rd TD drive = 7 yards ... bake fumble 4th td drive =. 20 yards ... snap exchange 1st FG drive was one long run from Lynch .... 100% on the D ... 2nd FG drive = 3 and out by rthe D ... long punt return set them up at oh=ur 30 yard line .... So with less than 2 minutes left the Faiders had 34 points on the scoreboard ... the D was solely responsible for 10 of them ... the other 24 consisted of 0 yards ... TD 7 yards ... TD 20 yards ... TD 0 hoards ... FG ... This D took a hit and the faiders put up 45 points total ... but 24 of them were GIFTS ... The D played a lot better than to have a 45 spot up on them .... they didn’t deserve this outcome ... they played good enough to win ... Our O was responsible for 65 points ... problem was 24 of them were for the other team .. Just trying to put a little perspective on things ... the D was not good .. but no where’s near as bad as 45 points against makes it look ...

yesterday was the first time that turnovers HURT us .. and it happened early and often.
We basically gave them 3 PLUS scores (let's not forget Callaway literally dropping the 2 pt conversion)

If it was Randall that went down, then yeah... we're doomed on D. I think our D just ran out of gas at the end. The announcer even said as much... the D has a LOT of snaps so far over 4 weeks.
This stretch is brutal but, like every year, things change from the end of last season through this one. Steelers look beatable. Bucs could be on the verge of a meltdown. Falcons aren't looking so great (lots of big D injuries), Bengals are playing well now... (you know what I'm about to say).
I made a post before last week about this stretch, and it's already looking much friendlier. This will continue to change.
I'm going to make a point of including this next part in just about all my posts... This year is not about the win total. This year is about getting back to respectability. There's nothing noble or proud or anything like that about being the "tough out" from week to week, but it's a level we have to first get to before we can move beyond. This is just my opinion, and I know certain folks will disagree.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Rivers will pick Williams defense apart if he goes blitz happy. Keenan Allen is one of the best route runners in the league. Mike Williams is a matchup issue. then you have Benjamin and Tyrell Williams to worry about plus Gordon who is a next level above Duke Johnson in the pass catching category and the Chargers are 2x than the Raiders

This year is not about the win total. Surprised to read this at only 1-3, (I'll go back to calling it a tie if this team reaches 500 again.), But this is the 3rd year of Hue Jacksons Head coaching, And this is only the 3rd year of any of the past 25 I've been on DT'ers, that I've heard anyone post such an opinion. Things like this. "The plan wasn't to win this year" , " The plan was to get the #1 overall pick again, not to have success this year." I don't want to nominate any of that for the best of dawgtalkers, I'm probably not allowed to say it's the opposite, but I think it. This is an NFL Team, the plan is to Win. period. PS. Baltimore is Juggarnaught, it'll take a big performance to beat them.

The Browns are finally a legit team.
We can win against any team.
What it now means is our talent has been upgraded and we are close in talent to most NFL teams.
What remains is playing consistently and like most teams hope we don't lose many key guys to injury.
The schedule is tough. But you have to look at each game separately.
No crystal ball on injuries.
In addition because we are now starting a rookie QBs; with more reps and more experience weekly we should improve.
At this point I don't see a dominant team yet.
As the weeks pass some will emerge.

All the ingredients, even the recipe, but when they bake a cake, pull it out of the oven, The Browns still don't know how to win.
Hope they find a winning formula, seal the deal, soon.
Run for a boatload of yards, check Have a dominant pass rush, stop the run, shutdown the passing game, check, check, check,
Throw for touchdowns, score a boat load of points, run for td's , Check, check, check, even made a fg/pat or two.
Win the game?. They had an 8 point lead with a minute 32 to go, and the ball, that's pretty good... most days.

I figured we'd be that time slot ... Baker mania

also, maybe the NFL thinks we'll still be relevant

Christmas eve against the Chargers? True. When was our last non-Thursday night prime time game? 2015. MNF game against the Ravens. The infamous blocked FG returned for a TD as time expired for the Ravens win.

We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.
