No doubt that's a risk, especially with how fast these guys are.

It's kinda appropriate that this is a one point game.

This was a hard, hard fought game, on both sides.

That last play call by Penn State was hard to believe though. wink

The stupidity of that play call will outshine that one handed catch from the 1st quarter. People will be talking about that call for the rest of the year.

What a game. I thought the field goal that got called back because of the face mask was going to comeback and bite us.

It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

Well, hopefully this is a lesson learned because we looked awful in a lot of facets of the game, just saying.

That’s the type of game that can launch a championship season.
Hostile environment. Huge stage. Behind most of the game. Generally bested in the stat line.
Win anyway.
Tested.

A nice week to put some money on the Buckeyes.
I'm going to see where the spread goes the next few days.

I'll probably use my reverse-psychology-pay-to-win-or-accept-the consolation-prize plan and place my bet on Penn State.

Yes, I used to do this all the time too when the Browns were favored.

You left out the best part though.

If the Buckeyes win but don't cover, you get to have your cake and eat it too.

Buckeyes win and you win the bet.

Haha. Yeah, I meant to throw that in. It doesn't happen often - when it does it's something to behold... and brag about for a couple weeks lol.

And boom goes the dynamite! That's how you have fun folks... Penn state +3.5 for two bills!

what. a. game.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I just can't believe PSU would take the ball out of McSorley's hands

I'm surprised how quickly Penn State became great again.

After the Jerry Sandusky scandal, I would have thought no one would ever attend there again.

The school president Spanier was fired.

Legendary coach Joe Paterno fired.

Guys my nerves and etc are still shot. What a highly nerve wrecking game.

I've never been so happy to see screen plays executed like they were by us last night, in times we needed plays more than anything. Hill, Dobbins and especially Haskins stood out.

What an outstanding victory and game. I'm still sort of "what really happened" this AM.

*EDIT* and the 4th down play by PSU at the end, game on the line... that call was the worst call I've seen in years. How utterly stupid IMO.

I’m not defending it, but I think the 4th down run was from the “it’s so odd, they’ll never see it coming” playbook. Maybe it was a case of overthinking, there were three timeouts called before that play was run.

All I know, if they pick up the first, they’d almost guarantee a FG try and I’d have bet money they’d nail it.

Assuming PSU doesn’t fall apart the rest of the season, it’s a great W for OSUs resume.

I watched last night ... went to a bar and had ND on side by side with OSU ...

Congrats on a big win ... showed a lot of courage and heart ...

McSorley .... he is way OVERRATED ....

And they didnt take it out of his hands ... it was a read option .... he handed it off cause the DE was right there and had him smothered ... he read the DE and had no clue either option had zero chance of success ....

PSU’s head coach is a MORON ... what an IDIOT ... he called a TO before the half to punt ... what kind of a DUMB ASS does that ... are u kidding me ... *LOL* ..

If McSorley could hit the broad side of a barn you’d of lost by 3 td’s ...

He ran GREAT but he’s INCREDIBLY INNACURATE ... i’m not sure he hit anyone in stride ALL NIGHT ... even the td pass was out in front of dude but it was low .. he was short and still had to bend down to catch it ... *L* ... he had one 4th down attempt where he missed a dude that was wide open running across the seam ...

I wish ND was in your conference .... its not very good ....

Whoever comes out of it is gonna get SPANKED in the playoffs ... it will be very reminiscent of 2 years ago if its U guys or who ever it is from your conference ...

Good luck the rest of the way ... do u have anyone left on your schedule? .. whose your toughest game left? ... is it Michigan?

I do need to watch the ending again, but this is what I thought I saw:

I don't think the play call at the end was as bad as everyone is making out. They didn't take the ball out of McSorley's hands with the call. It looked like an RPO with zone read and bubble screen options. D. Jones was right there to level the QB if he didn't hand it off. We happened to call a stunt/twist combo that had Chase Young end up right in the hole, but he wouldn't have been visible from McSorley's read. From his perspective, it probably looked like we were almost opening the hole for them.

I think execution was bad for PSU. Jones got in too fast for the screen to set up and the defensive call had Young in a fortuitous spot. I think Jones may have just made a play as much as anything.

i'm going to give Herbstreit props .. when we were STRUGGLING mightily he said this:

"I think Ohio State's only chance is to hit on quick throws and get some successful screens"

Boy, was he right.

So the next four games are what? Indiana, Purdue, Nebraska, and Minnesota

That's a really easy row now

We have to use the next month to improve our defense and OL ... we were fortunate to win last night
