welp, this wasnt good

Man, two years ago we were up 3-1 in the WS... We were on a 10-2 run through the playoffs and on the brink of a championship. Francona was 11-1 as a manager in WS games.

Since then we've lost 8 of 10 in the postseason and quite frankly look like we don't belong.

Hard to watch.

this is the problem, we clinched early and Tito didn't do enough to get this team ready. I'm not sure he lasts much longer. He has alot of talent and they aren't performing well. Love Tito but he might be at the end here

I don't blame Tito. The Indians are a bunch of chockers.

Out of the gate I didn't consider theteam serious contenders. Pretty good but not WS champ quality.

offense is just putrid. No chance. I can see this having a long term effect as well.. I see attendance plummeting, fire sale to try to rebuild (knowing the dolans) instead of what they should be doing. Finding a hitting coach, getting some legit outfielders with bats, actually spending money to fix the offense

Francisco Lindor just absolutely destroyed a solo HR. It lined off the clock that hangs by the walkway behind the HR Porch. An absolute bomb, and it gives the Indians a 2-1 lead.

Aaaand ... its the off-season. The Indians are faced with the daunting task of needing to rebuild their bullpen and their outfield. They are paying $42M next year to three players who appear to be in decline - Kipnis $14M, Alonso $8M, and Encarnacion $20M. Then there's Cody Allen and Andrew Miller, both of whom might - quite unexpectedly - be available to re-sign with Cleveland, because they had such miserable seasons in their jump years. I'm not sure I want either of them, even at a bargain price, but I'm a little bummed right now, so that might change. But neither of them are closers anymore. Ah well, its very disappointing to see the season end like this, but I guess deep down I never really thought we could play with the likes of the Astros, Red Sox, or Yankees.

What an awful showing by the Tribe.

Tito definitely deserves his blame in this, but what the hell happened to Corey Kluber?

Look, Houston is great, and I think they're going to beat whoever wins the Sox/Yanks series, but when you're a current 20 game winning, multiple times Cy Young award winner, I need a little more out of you than what he gave us. He was also horrible in the ALDS last year in two starts, one of which the bats bailed him out of.

I give him a pass on game 7 of the WS, because it was the third time he'd been thrown out there, so 1. his arm probably was not ready to go, and 2. The Cubs now had 2 games, in-series, to make adjustments. But really, it all started that night. He has not pitched well in his last 4 playoff starts, and that's troubling.

The lineup was an absolute disaster. Maybe Jose Ramirez isn't as good as we thought he was?

Too many guys whiffing at pitches and making it easy on the Astros pitchers.

Houston is a great team though. They really don't have a weakness. Crazy to think not that long ago they were getting railed by the media for rolling out a AAA team on opening day.

I do think they go back to back this year. They're that good.

I'm proud of the Indians for some amazing memories this season. Sorry that they were thwarted by the Astros. Thank you Indians for a wonderful season.

bad end to a good season ... again

The Indians, the Braves, and the Redskins all got stomped yesterday.. on Columbus day.

To be fair, the Yankees took it pretty bad too ...

For the record, I am now adamantly rooting for a Astros vs Brewers World Series.

My bggest complaint of this year's Tribe is that they tried to resemble Major League 2 Tribe team,most of the season, until too late in the season all only caring to hit for the yard instead playing team ball fundamental of little ball when the situation dictated( bunt or hit bend runner or go with pitch and hit it where they ain"t(Wee Willie Keyler) for single or double and bullpen pitchers trying to be Mr. Nice guy batting practice arms for oppossing team. Sorry Tito,but Carl Willis is not a pitching coach did not we learn that from his previous time here? Too many injuries also for this team to overcome along with a very complacent no balls attitude from the starting lineup. The Old Perfessor,Casey Stengel, said it correctly--you beat the bums all the time and play .500 or better with the big boys. I wold try to keep Andrew Miller,get his mechanics fixed,Donaldson,Michael Brantley,Eddie Encarcion,maybe Milkman Perez,Rajai Davis,Yonder Alanzo if he learns strike zone ,corrects hitting stroke. Goodbye Cody Allen,Jason Kipnis,Lonnie Chisenhall.

One other item I detest is interleague batting rule where the NL is at advantage whether playing at home or at AL park by eliminating the DL and forcing the AL pitcher to bat in NL park giving the NL team an automatic out with being the only time AL pitcher will be in batters box trying to imitate an offensive weapon. Secondly the NL uses DH at AL park thereby eliminating the easy out of pitcher in batters box thus giving NL team another offensive weaponnow equal to the AL. Just eliminate the pitcher in the batters and let the hitters take batters trained to hit ball stand in and swing to produce hit to move runner/s instead of pitcher whiffing at air making an quick easy out or risking an injury to body running basepath .

I can't figure out how MLB thinks this brand of baseball is more exciting than playing small ball and having a good defense.

It's extremely hard to watch. The shifts bug the hell out of me and these guys simply refuse to bunt. It's like it's all about hitting a home run or striking out. Boring as can be!

The typical fan wants to see homeruns and K's.

Its like in the NFL, they want to see 40-38 games, not 12-9 games.

I agree 100%. Truth be told, I don't have much left for the game of baseball. My interest has waned more and more the last few years. Part of it is being a long-suffering Indians fan and feeling like we'll never get it done. To me it's become something to put on the radio if I have nothing going on - helps me remember the glory days - listening to Hammy paint the perfect picture inning after inning... Other than that, I'm pretty much ghost.

Ehh, I think the league will eventually change. These crazy shifts are relatively new. We saw it once a few years ago with Santana, and I suspect we'l see it more. Hard bunts down the line when the crazy shift is on. Then the league will adjust.

Yeah, fairly new, but advanced analytics lets defenses know every tendency of the batter... batter won't change because it's Home Run Derby.

I'll admit it's mostly my fault, don't really have the patience to watch a game that's more and more boring and predictable.

NBA - 70% of the time you're watching action
NFL - 60% of the time you're watching action (since most plays are worthy of a replay)

MLB - 15% if you're lucky, and 90% of that is pitches, strikeouts and HRs

I saw something recently that there is an average of 3 minutes 45 seconds between balls being put in play this year. "Ain't nobody got time for that" lol That was okay before the age of instant gratification.

It would be nice to see a good-old-fashioned rally once in a while. Maybe a runner in motion, a hit and run, a bunt for a base hit... all the things that made the game great are so few and far between.

It might change, I don't know. What I do know is that there doesn't seem to be a single hitter ever talking about working on his inside-out swing to the opposite field or working on making contact with 2 strikes or any of that.... every time they interview a hitter, he's talking about working on one thing and one thing only......
