You'll have tha ACLU jumping on board with the same reaction including to say that the city of Atlanta is not only passing racialy motivated legislation that is not only targeting black youth,but trying to make them conform and limiting their freedom of choice and freedom of expression.
The entire thing will be a PR nightmare for the city and if they don't back down,a legal battle costing untold $$$ will ensue between the city and the ACLU.
So yes,over some baggy drawers,I think inviting all of that into your lap is somewhat extreme.
Now it's not a complicated concept to wrap your mind around. Or is it?

Then why is the ACLU wasing time on this when there are more legitimate claims of civil liberties being violated? Why is the NAACP getting involved when there are still more blatent violations of racial discrimination happening? Why are you wasting your time posting about this when President Bush is still in office? Afterall this is just about pants and there are more important things to be dealt with.

I didn't say the ACLU was right all of the time or that everything they did made sense now did I? I was sort of hoping the elected officials of Atlanta were a little brighter than the ACLU on this one.

IMHO it's about time ! ....I have said it before and I will say again now....I have many African American friends and I am Not prejudice....However , IMHO this is just another example of the Ghettofication of America....You can see it's influence across our society among both Blacks & Whites....This nonconformist trend which places an emphasis on Urban , Ghetto or jail house culture has impacted us in everything from the music industry , advertising and language---Ebonics ?  ....What's the point of that ?....Overall many African Americans are probably just as offended as I am by this negative influence on our nation....Do these people honestly believe that their ancestors who were treated Horrible under slavery and in more recent times during the Civil Right Movement suffered so that they could act Ghetto , and walk around in baggy pants and crooked hats ? ....I imagines these brave souls still with us are more offended than I am and those brave souls who suffered and are no longer with us are turning over in their graves....So my question is  ....Who really is the Sell Out ?....
