See, I don't blame Hue for that decision. We needed an offensive spark and it worked, until baker fumbled. I've got zero problems with that call.

Think about the LOSSES that we've had this year .. it's a nightmare
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

No doubt. That bonehead decision cost us the game.
Decisions like that is why I don't like Hue Jackson.
Take the points when you can get them and see how it turns out in the end. If it was a late game deal, sure, go for it by all means.
Oh well, another week of hearing how I am a hater and Hue is a good coach. I don't care what happens to him either. Not much left to argue in his defense anymore.

we surely left points on the board ... SO many missed chances ... I keep remembering all of them

Yet when he didn't go for 2 in a game, he was stupid, after being stupid for going for 2 a couple of times in an earlier game.
Just write that anything he does in a game will be wrong. I guarantee that if we had lost in regulation by a FG, and had kicked the FG before the end of the 1st half, people would have complained about not going for it when we had the chance.

Quick reaction: I'm glad we didn't kick the FG on 4th and 2 before halftime and went for it and came away with zero points. It was the right call and we had the yardage. Mayfield just fumbled. No, it wasn't the right call. You take the points that early in the game.

Bucs are NOT a good defensive team and were missing their best player ... and the first half they looked like the 85 bears

And why is that call a dumb call but people think the Titans' decision to go for the two-point conversion at the end of the game against the Chargers was 'gutsy'?

Good - Ogbah - Landry - Chubb - Collins -Kirksey - Njoku (minus the drop) - Nassib (oops, wrong team) Bad - Hubbard - Harrison - Peppers' fumble - Garrett (yup) - The entire secondary All that said, I'm pretty confident in saying Hue Jackson will not be coaching this team in 2019. I don't know if he gets fired this week, next week, the Bye Week, or at the end of the season, but I'm pretty confident in saying he won't be around next year. I'm not in mock draft mode, just mock new HC mode. I'm pretty sure he is almost done here in Cleveland.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Hue Jackson is now 3-35-1 as head coach of the #Browns. At some point the fans need to lead the charge.

The loss of Mitchell and Gaines really puts a strain on the secondary .. they were OKay today against good WRs IMO

Our defense helped the offense; that group needs help. And the secondary is slow. Drops today were mostly on the receiver not our player's doing. MG is in need of variety. Vintage Courtney Brown today. Get us out of some long stretches on the field.

Hue says a lot of things and not many make any sense. He says the coaches have to get things corrected....ok, cool....I am still waiting. We should have won this game. Kick a field goal near halftime and we would have never been in overtime. We already won the game.

Harrison had his hands full Garret had 2 sacks and was held all day. Are you lumping Ward and Randall into the bad category?

I know this isn't entirely true, but it almost seems like every time we have a formation that works for a play (3 WR to one side and Njoku alone on the other) we go away from it to a formation that never seems to work (3TEs and Landry). Please just throw away the 3TE section of the playbook. Just run out of 11 personnel, too. None of our TEs can block. Putting them in to do it is as good as wasting a down.
Collins had a better game this week.
Ogbah had his good moments, but his effort at the end of regulation was pretty abysmal. I understand the D was gassed, but you can't just stand there from snap to whistle.
Landry beats people off cuts. Keep him in the slot where defenders have to defend multiple directions. Defenders play inside leverage when he's outside and dare him to beat them deep.
I think Njoku needs to lay off the crunches. It's like he can't bend over enough to catch anything below his upper chest. I love Njoku, but it seems kind of throw it high or bust.
I'd like to see more stacked receivers to try to get Ratley/Callaway free releases on Slants. Both have... "room for Improvement" at the line. Baker seemed a little locked onto Landry today.
Chubb looked pretty good today.
Baker's ankle looked fine this week. Some of it was just a good play by Lavonte David, but he can't fumble there.
Avery is starting to look more like a 5th round rookie.
Ward still living up to his Draft status, though.

Not going to argue about it - twice I explained why I have no problem with the call. That should be enough, whether you agree with my opinion or not.

Kick a field goal near halftime and we would have never been in overtime. We already won the game. To be fair to Hue, our special teams showed vast improvement today. I am assuming that Hue has gotten involved with them...

The no call on Baker's slide, and the also non call on the blow to the QB's head is yet another official screw you to Cleveland.
It is unbelievable that one team could have so many absolutely blown calls go against them in one 3rd of a season. 1. Whining about the refs accomplishes nothing. 2. Both were the correct call. Sorry, but you're wrong. You cannot hit the QB in his slide, especially in the head. I was wrong: With the ticky tack calls on illegal blocking in the back, etc. For the life of me I don't understand how that's not illegal. Illegal hit on s qb that is sliding. (and let's face it, against 'name' qb's, that's a flag) And further more, that's helmet to helmet contact. 2 penalties, missed, in 1 play. But, I suppose on Monday, maybe Tuesday, the nfl will say "well, the officials missed this call.........."

Anyone else notice that the NFL no longer even bothers to apologize for their crap officiating? What does an apology on Monday do? Nothing. It's sad. I know what I'd do if I were a player. And I'd apologize on Monday.

--I think a lot of what is stated as opinion also has to be taken into context. I admit I am hardest on the players who are supposed to be the best. With that …
--Garrett was absolutely atrocious. He consistently runs himself right out of the play and is handled one on one most of the time. The caused fumble was the first play he's made in 3 games. Winston constantly exposed Garrett running himself out of the play by breaking the pocket and running for big gains. One of the reasons Garrett continues to do this is because he only has a speed rush move. He does nothing else well. This team will never be good if their best players don't play up to their expectations. Speaking of...
--Baker had two opportunities to win this in OT and stunk in both of them. As a matter of fact, the defense gift wrapped the win, and he couldn't get the offense to advance 10 yards. I think that is pathetic for a #1 overall pick. If Baker has "it", he makes a play to win the damn game. He was terrible in similar circumstances at the end of the Oakland game as well. This team will never be good if their best players don't play at their best. Time to step up Mr. #1 overall draft pick.
--More on Baker...It was a tale of three games for him. Terrible first half, bounce back second half, putrid OT. The first half was unlike anything we've seen from Baker to date. No gunslinging. Constant checkdowns. Not throwing guys open. I hope that's not the coaches. They need to let this guy be him. Even the game against the Chargers, which was his worst before today, he had like 7 or 8 plus level throws. His dropped TD to Ratley might have been the best throw of the last weekend in the entire NFL. We saw a few plus level throws in the second half, but his game was mediocre, IMO. I expect more.
--As for Hue, I've been on the fence. But I've come to the conclusion that it's just not working. I would be fine if he were let go this week. Discipline is at an all time low. The team consistently starts games slowly. This was supposed to be a winnable game against a team that was struggling and against a QB who turns the ball over a ton. You have to find a way. Hue just can't find a way. Whether it's all his fault, 50% his fault, or none of his fault, it's time to move on. It's. Not. Working.
--Having said that, I liked and endorse the play call to go for it on 4th and 2. Baker needs to protect the ball.
--Randall has been awesome.
--Ward has been awesome.
--Ogbah was great today. We probably won't see him again for 4 or 5 games. I don't get too excited about guys who don't do it consistently.
--Refs are the worst I've ever seen. So no call on the Baker slide? The defender led with his helmet which is illegal all the time. The ref actually said he was allowed to head hunt Baker in his explanation. Pathetic display of competence.
--I really want to get excited about next week's game, but I'm already beat down 7 games into the season. It's a sucky feeling.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
