One thing I think people continually overlook with Dorsey here, is that he retained many of the people who ran the drafts when Sashi was here.

There's no telling what goes on behind the scenes or who is the lead voice on some of these picks although Dorsey wants you to believe it's him.

He's also cleaned out some of the picks made under Sashi for what seems like only for the sake of doing so (such as Nassib).

I feel like Sashi laid out a plan a few years ago and he never got the chance to implement it. It's still in effect today, only Dorsey is at the helm. The plan all along was to upgrade players and make drastic moves in the standings during the 3rd year. Right, wrong, or indifferent, that was always the plan. And we wouldn't have a lot of the pieces and players here if not for Sashi and company, although some will try to rewrite history.

I think a team like the Giants would do themselves a huge favor if they would bring in Sashi and a guy like Andrew Berry to turn their franchise around. Dorsey will get the credit here, but it all started with Sashi.

Some people know how to tear an engine apart and some people know how to rebuild them.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Like I had mentioned, there's no telling who we would have selected if we had replaced Hue instead of Sashi and Sashi was still here. Strong indications are that he very well would have drafted Mayfield #1 overall as well. After that, who knows...

I'd venture to guess guys like the Colemans and Nassib would still be here and provide necessary depth.

I'm not disappointed or unhappy that Dorsey is here. I'm happy with the things he's done thus far, but we have some more moves to make.

I know this is a Perriman thread, so sorry for the tangent. I do think our GM is pertinent to the conversation here however... Carry on.

What indications are you speaking of? I've seen zero indications that he would or would not have drafted Baker. Now I agree that we have no way of knowing. But here's what we do know. He's never built a team before.

Dorsey had a big hand in building KC. So to in any way try to say they would have made similar decisions or achieved the same goal is a reach of gigantic proportions.

Baker is an analytics dream. That was our mode of transportation the past 2 seasons and the driving force for our front office. It's why we went with Dorsey, because we were too analytical.

I couldn't tell you after that who we would have drafted, probably could have gone in any numbers of directions including trade. We also seemed to be more interested in draft assets, so I'm not sure we would have gotten guys like Landry or Tyrod here, or Randall... it could have been similar or waaaaaay different because a lot of the guys Sashi had scouting are still here.

We kept good ones. Ogbah, Schobert, we did let Nassib (last cut) and Coleman (both) Shon and Corey go. But was that not good decisions? Although I did like Nassib he was an over achiever.

But I think Haley did him in "CARL" who names their baby CARL...

In retrospect (and even at the time) I thought Haley was not good for our team (at least with the mix of Hue, a new QB, etc) ... it was not good chemistry

I wondered about Haley. I liked what he did with the Steelers, but they were a veteran team. The Browns were not. I did not think Haley and Hue would mesh well, and obviously, they did not. Moving forward, that is something we must look at.

As it turned out, it was more like fouling a pitch off your foot, busting 3 toes, and then getting hit in the face when the ball comes back up, and you're falling down.

We REALLY need people who know how to drive and race. That remains the important point.
