I feel so optimistic on the isle, I don't care if AJ plays or not. ... Everything is a little brighter and the victories taste a little sweeter on the Isle ... Cap taking care of u? U working on dealing with zero gravity depending on how high we soar next year? ... Were expecting big crowds the rest of the way dawg ...

Did you see the Bengal game last week? I didn't, but I remember 2 things about it.
The bungles lost 24-21, and their Qb was 16 for a hundred or something like that, and if I recall correctly, the bungles were +2 in the turnover ratio. here's the catch, they had Hue on their sidelines.
Now, for the previous 28 games, the Browns have had Hue on their sidelines, and IMO, all the Hue games looked the same, (when I say "all" I mean like 85-90% of them.)
All the games with Hue and the Browns had common themes, 1. abandon the run too early or if you do run, do it inconsistently, predictably, like interuptions out of a fire hose instead of a steady stream. (that the run game)
2. The Qb throws way too many passes, I mean, if a Hue coached Browns game didn't have 45 pass attempts then it wasn't to halftime yet.
3. The team scores close to 20 points but almost never reaches the 24 point hurdle, which looms there like Mt Everest or something, by games end.
4. Hue coached Browns games, they never scored well in the first quarter, were only competitive for 25% of the game, usually mid 2nd quarter and start of the 4th quarter but that's about it,
5. They ended with a loss.
And last weeks Bungles game, looked A LOT like all the Hue coached Browns games we've seen the last 2 years.
So, Hopefully same old Hue, hopefully the Browns can Beat the Bengals TWICE this year, but TO DO IT! The Browns are going to have to play like a Team,
Going to have to play like a real TEAM, a total team effort.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Feel pretty optimistic about this game.
Offensively I believe things are starting to come together. Chubb has to be reckoned with by opposing defenses.
That really helps open things up. Makes play action work.
Baker is beginning to develop the necessary chemistry with the receivers.
Defensively we should be ok. I expect to give up some points but I am hoping we can turn them over a couple times.
Browns 31 Bengals 24.

I understand we can lose every game ... 100% ... with our youth and a rookie QB ... anything’s possible ... This week for the first time in YEARS i’m expecting a W on Sunday ... With or w/o AJ ... WERE the BETTER TEAM on this particualr Sunday against this opponent ... I EXPECT A W ... will be fine if we lose cause I UNDERSTAND PERSPECTIVE ... but i feel we should win this game and therefore expect us to ... Something else thats DIFFERENT this year ...

After throwing mayfield under the bus with the wentz comment plus not playing mayfield look for him to have the best game of his career. Chubb sets club record for yards in a game Browns roll 38-21

A Rookie QB who's doing things Rookie QBs just should NOT BE DOING.
Think about that for a minute.
I'm talking Completion %, YPA and TD to Pick Ratio.
WE FINALLY GOT OURSELVES A GOSH DAMN QUARTERBACK.
Getting ready to take my Pilots Exam.

that's why the robinson/harrison decision is so big
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

diam...my #1 concern...keeping Bake healthy...oline needs to protect the QB...from hits as well as sacks. One thing about watching Baker a lot last year in college. His OL was no where as good as Murray is experiencing. And many of the opponents hated him so much so that they took many opportunities to hit him hard regardless of the 15 yard consenquence.
But this is what I notice. Baker plays so loose it like a drunk getting in a car accident. There is no bracing for the hit and even though I see him wince and get up limping...HE NEVER CAME OUT...man is this kid tough and durable I know he is short for a QB but he weighs around 220 which mean he has a lot of muscle on him absorbing the punishment and protecting the body. He is like the energizing bunny...he keeps going and going and going!
Now that we got talent but most are young kids still, I worry, before I never worried cause I expected to lose but was so happy to win well ONE TIME IN TWO SEASONS
We got good talent and I really like Williams as a HC he is not a Richard, hes very open and loose with the kids and especially with Baker...where Hue and Haley were so intent on being this grand teacher like teaching a Thourough bred Secratariat horse to be put on a race with Trotters. Don't hold this kid back.
Williams told Baker let it loose even now he is saying what is the difference between Anticipation and guessing...Anticipation is just guessing right and telling Baker to go ahead and guess don't be afraid. Baker took all this in as Williams saying GO AHEAD and be yourself...let loose. Which Hue and Haley kept pulling the reigns back so not to have that Trotter break into a gallop. He ain't no Trotter...he's a freaking stud race horse.
What I like about our team is we are equipped to get into these wide open shoot outs but our Defense will get its share of 3 and outs and also Create Turnovers....so that we can win these all out shoot outs. We are close to stand toe to toe with these Chiefs, Rams, Saints teams.
That is what scares me I guess the great expectations I have and even classified as a HOMER I was more realistic than all gave credit for. I knew we were ill equipped to win games.
Now we are maturing and ready to make the big move. Shame we didn't win 3-4 more when we should have but as LOSERS do we lost due to Refs, due to Kickers, due to some reason.
Williams has this team playing very loose and they not playing as a team afraid to lose rather like a team having fun and ready to win!

I think Kitchen is going to throw/run EVERYTHING at them. Modified Wishbone look but switch it up at the line, Duke as a Wideout, Straight Wishbone, something totally new like a Lineman as a Back, he appears to be up for anything and Williams is too. I expect VERY heavy doses of Chubb early to grind them down.
D doesn't have to worry about Green and w/ Ward back they should be able to work more at containing Mixon.
I will not predict a W... or wear my Gear... to help out. I am though thinking of dropping off a few of our backyard Possums Saturday night.

https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2018/11...r-ass-beat.htmlI hate when players give the other team additional motivation. Why the hell does Randall just not stfu - say Cinci are a great team and we will be hoping for a great game. smh

Unless you are the Chiefs or the Saints I don't think there are any easy games in the NFL. . . even though I fully expect the Browns to win I don't think it's going to be easy.

Just a general observation...figured this thread was as good as any.
Anyone else notice the coincidence of the team still feeling like they still have something to play for this late innthe season and the injury report being small?
In years past, half the team would be on the report at this time. Heck, if Hue was still the coach half the team would be on the report this week.
Minimum take the Browns and the points, but I really like the Browns to win outright.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

That's a great observation.
I too think we take care of business this weekend. I really do believe this team is capable of going 4-2 over the stretch, 3 of those wins being division wins. Baker has been coming along nicely but i think one of receivers needs to have a dominant game . 100+ yrds and 2 TD's. Who will it be? I don't know.
-Landry will be key but not a game breaker. -Higgins will be clutch, but i dont think he gets there. -I want it to be Callaway for some reason, but i feel like its too soon to think it'll all fall in to place for him -Njoku has it in him, but he isn't being used as that deep threat through the seam in a it -Perriman just might be the guy. He's looking more comfortable and he's got the speed.
I don't know. I just feel like the next step for this offense is a dominant performance from a pass catcher.
Browns score 30+ to include a defensive TD in a win

no doubt Rish ... I agree. I always thought the number of guys on IR is directly proportional to a team's record. Whether that record is BECAUSE of the injuries, or the injuries are BECAUSE of the record.

Didn’t know u were part of the BASH HUE for anything no matter HOW RIDICOLOUS the smear is ... U guys ragged on Vers for the way he acted after Sashi was fired ... say what u want .. he never went to the BS places u guys do on Hue ... The reason is simply TALENT ... plain and simple ... they think they have something to play for BECAUSE THEY DO and thats because of TALENT ... not because so many BUMS are on the injury report ... It was sad after the Sashter go tfired .. and its even sadder now ...

If we jump on the Bengals early I think they fold. I don't believe the Bengals mental state is strong. Its time to literally administer a good thrashing to someone. It'd do us good.

I don't think there's been a game in years that I wanted to win more badly than this one.
Well, maybe week 17 last year to avoid 0-16 when the Steelers rested their starters and won anyway (but Hue never had a chance!!!!)
Let's show Cincy that the defense they thought couldn't get any worse, can actually get quite a bit worse.

I'm only going to address this once because i don't want to derail the thread.
Hue Jackson is/was nota VICTIM of a daggone thing in Cleveland. He knew exactly what he was getting in to when he signed on, he knew the plan. He knew he wouldn't have talent level he or any coach would have liked, but he took the job anyway. He'll probably be a successful HC if he takes over an established team i.e.the Bengals, but he's not the guy you want for an organizational build. And that's totally ok.
But when he was here he took zero ownership for his role in all of it. Players see that and adopt it, even if only a smidgen. It's a totally valid observation to make and a reasonable question to ask if their is a causal relation between the clear as day change in team philosophy and the lack of players out on injury. ESPECIALLY when you add in the wa he chose how to handle injuries this year (which i thought was sound).
I actually think Hue was simply in over his head. It happens. I just don't accept the narrative that Hue was a victim. If you're that concerned about the Hue "bashing" feel free to send him a gift basket in my name including some preparation H for the butthurt.
I'm optimistic about tomorrow! I think it's goimg to be an entertaining game to watch.

TALENT has nuttin to do with why these guys feel there still in it .. it was all about how Hue MANIPULATED the injury report ... ... U guys need to explain to my dumb butt what Hue has to do with MG getting his ankle rolled up on ... PLEASE EXPLAIN ...

And BTW ... i’m Not saying Hue was a victim ..
Well him and Sashi both actually were .. as was Chud, Pet, Shanny and a few others under the THIEFS outstanding leadership ...
The THIEF leaves plenty of victims in his trails ... *L* ...

Just based on player responses over the past couple of weeks I get a sense that they feel confident and are no longer waiting on the other shoe to drop, that was so evident in the past under Hue.
I get the feeling they are just letting it fly and grinding and instead of waiting for something bad to happen they are focused on making something good happen, I sense a change under Williams.
All that doesn't mean much if they don't win and I fully expect them to do just that.
