They (the Bengals) are playing for their PLAYOFF Lives, if that isn't enough motivation then who cares about what this smack does. Actually possibly the Bengals will show less self control and make some mistakes of aggression. Of course that only would be positive if the REFs throw the flag. Which is a big question mark.
No big deal mgh...as long as we can BACK UP our talk that is the real deal here.

So Hue knew he’d up with a QB room in year two with ZERO COMBINED nfl wins and about a total of 6 STARTS IN THE NFL ... okie dokie smokie ... *L* .. Ya ... TALENT has nuttin to do with why these guys feel there still in it .. it was all about how Hue MANIPULATED the injury report ... ... U guys need to explain to my dumb butt what Hue has to do with MG getting his ankle rolled up on ... PLEASE EXPLAIN ... Part of the reason that QB room had zero combined wins is because Cody Kessler, who we had to trust Hue on, was on that 2016 team that went 1-15. Maybe 0-16 has numbed us to just how excruciatingly bad 1-15 is by itself.. only 10 teams in NFL history have finished 1-15 (not counting the winless teams) Of course, the lone win we got that year was quarterbacked by RG3.. who pretty much everybody knew was done after his time with Washington. He got the benefit of the doubt so many times there due to how much Washington gave up for him. He was a shell of his former self, didn't stop Clueless Hue from falling in love with him at a private workout. So yeah, the QB room last year was pretty bad. That much is obvious. Just don't gloss over how much Hue factored into the QB debacles here. How he handled DeShone Kizer was one of the more bizarre things, especially coming from a so-called QB whisperer. Yeah, Hue is a QB whisperer in the sense that he likes to whisper in a QB's ears but that's about it.

Browns board is overconfident, team might be overconfident.
Trap game for the Browns?
Hope they play well.
The last time I thought the Browns, felt overconfident was the Tampa Bay loss this year.
And that wasn't close.
Browns need to focus, and play "their" game.

Browns need to focus, and play "their" game. I was thinking the same about being over confident. But I think the game finally opened up for Baker last game and I think we'll be fine now. Sure we'll have more lumps along the way but let them have their swagger. I like it.

Actually I thought Hue did a very good job in developing Kizer...his growth was very visible the fact is Kizer just was not a good QB. You cannot survive in this NFL without being ACCURATE...something the Bills will soon find out with their Josh Allen pick and for that matter Ravens if they feel they got a viable QB in Lamar Jackson.
But Kizer was very inaccurate. He was strong, he could run out of trouble sometimes but his accuracy was not good at all. In spite of all that I thought Hue taught and got the most out of Kizer. Now I'm not sure how much better he got Baker by not letting him get ANY REPS with the ones. It was as if he was not on board with the pick, pure speculation, but he treated Kizer different, he treated TT different. It seemed he did not want to remotely utilize his overall #1 pick at all considering TT was not that good and I was disappointed so much on hearing that Hue refused to let Baker work with the 1's. He closed down competition for the position. But his committed choice actually sucked. Which in my eyes made me wonder WHY??? That was one of the worst choices, oh I wanted TT to start the season and hopefully do well. But to have Baker your overall #1 pick not even in the picture, I think this was one of the negatives that Dorsey had with Hue. It was like he didn't wish to have Baker, instead he went all in with TT.
You don't have to go too far from there to wonder why Dorsey wanted HUE Gone, Hue pretty much told Dorsey that his pick of Baker sucked. Good Bye Hue and hello Baker

I always thought pulling Kizer in and out of the starting lineup was odd. It's very unusual to see an NFL team do that, although there weren't any other good options. Kevin Hogan and... ??? I can't even remember at this point. That is a pretty bad QB room.. lol
Agreed about not giving Baker any first team reps. I never agreed with that approach, he was the #1 pick, you have to give him some reps.
I do think that most times, it is better for a rookie QB to sit and learn for a while. Most, not all. There are times where they are the best option and ready to play, at least give them a look see and go from there. It doesn't even have to be a fair competition but there should at least be some competition.
Would Seattle have been better off sitting Russell Wilson even though he was clearly the best option? Well they made the playoffs in his first season and won the Super Bowl in his second... so I kind of doubt it.
I never understood Kizer being the unquestioned starter in 2017 despite clearly not being ready, then not even giving any first team reps to Baker in 2018. Had 30 years of coaching experience changed that dramatically based on one year of experience with Kizer?
We saw how Baker and Chubb were utilized early on... surely both were factors in both Haley and Hue being dismissed.

In all seriousness, I wonder if some of the "oh goodness, did he really just go there" type posts in the politics section (not from you, just in general) were the result of days like this.

On O - I think we run on them all day long. I'm looking at another Chubb 150+, which will open things up for Baker. I think he has another efficient game. I also look forward to seeing what wrinkles Kitchens adds to the offense.
On D, if AJ is out, contain Mixon and put Ward on Boyd. If AJ is back, thing are more difficult. Dalton has been really good against the blitz, so I think we'll have to be careful and disguise. I don't see many sacks, Cincy's OL has done a good job.
This all being said, I think it is close and the good guys come out on top.
27-23 Browns Maybe I should increase the 27 to a larger number. At this point, I'd be disappointed if we only score 6 more points. I'm kinda hoping we drop 62 on them like OSU did to TTUN yesterday
