It's pretty hard not to talk about Hue in a thread you made where you disagreed how Baker handled the situation with Hue.

To add to what Nate said; before the draft Josh Rosen made a comment that was perceived as meaning he didn't want to go to Cleveland. He then awkwardly distanced himself from that comment. That brought the question to the other QB candidates. Darnold politely sidestepped the question. Mayfield flat out said, "I want to be the guy" who turns the Browns around. While others were making sure not to say the wrong thing, he embraced it.

I didn't want Mayfield, and the likelihood of things like what's going on now is why. That said, he has won me over. I am willing to put up with occasional questionable behavior if the on field results continue has they have. The kid WANTS to play for Cleveland.

Careful. Or he'll threaten to leave again for like, the 3rd or 4th time.

But, this is HIS thread, so he's allowed to attack others, but he won't accept any replies back.

I like vers the football guy. Biggest problem? THAT guy doesn't show up much. jmo

This is a fair post w/out insults and hijacking techniques others are using.

I am saying we disagree, but I completely understand and respect where you are coming from.

Personally, I am having a hard time liking the guy and that opinion [as Swish tried to explain to others] came way before Baker was involved w/Hue. But again, I am not asking you, or anyone, to agree.

This is exactly how I feel. I didn't want Baker. He was 2nd or 3rd for me in the QB order, partially because of his attitude. He still makes some questionable decisions, but overall he is embracing Cleveland and the challenge, and he is thriving. He is going to rub people the wrong way but he truly seems to simply being himself.

Baker is obviously an arrogant, vindictive jerk, and fake. How could he support a cause like that?

I have to agree mostly with the person who said Baker is too real for some people to handle.

Having a daughter with special needs (who I secretly hope will get involved with Special Olympics so I can train her :)), I love that Baker supports this.

Baker seems like a genuine, real, down to earth guy. Couldn't be happier with a guy like him representing the team I root for.

Like I said earlier...............I love this board because people are so accepting of other people's differing opinions.

I don't understand what giving has to do with Baker's personality. Darn near everyone has a cause they give too, especially when you have $$$.

Anyway, that video Vers showed on the original post, I've never seen. Definitely a little animated. Reading some of the comments, some people were alluding that he was flickin the media off as he used his middle finger to wipe some tears. As he said today, he does everything for a reason and with purpose. haha.

I think his intent on calling out Hue was 2-fold. 1, his personal agenda, feeling slighted on not getting a chance to start day 1. My personal thoughts are 'poor baby.' 2, him trying to get the team behind him. Not sure this is the way you do it for those who are more level-headed and mature. We all know Randall and Peppers are super emotional. No one else had much to say about it.

I'm sure there will be more comments and/or situations that will pop up over the course of his career. My personal thoughts are that it is more than obvious that he hasn't learned anything from his OU days, in particular the crotch grabbing incident. Cookie cutter or not, show some respect. Again, if you dislike the guy, theres nothing wrong with it, but avoid the media/social media at all costs. Keep it within your teammates.

Still though, I'm glad he's here.

Most of the players like Hue. That hasn't changed.

People are trying to act like Baker is speaking for the entire team, but thats not true. But for all the 'fan boys' out there (sorry, couldn't resist, haha), they now believe that one pereson speaks for all. That's how influential Baker is. And one of the reasons I think he's good for this team.

He just needs to use his 'powers' in a more positive manner. lol.

It's possible, but we have other players who have been quoted as saying they liked Hue and supported him.

It's also made more unlikely because Baker and his dad pulled the same stuff in college. That is why he run out of the bar. It wasn't from being drunk. It was because people thought he was such a jerk.

There is a reason why opponents refused to shake his hand. There are reasons why he purposely threw a ball at an opponent's head in the pre-game. There are reasons he grabbed his crotch in a game. There are reasons why he was fake-crying in that PC [that I guess almost no one took the time to watch other than Turk] and the majority of people who commented on it said he was "fake." There are reasons why he tried to run from the cops and then acted like he was a victim.

And none of those things had a damn thing to do w/Hue.

But again, I have zero problems if you like Baker. It's an opinion. My problem is w/those who feel the need to slam others for not sharing their opinion. Look at arch's posts? What is he doing? Making logical arguments to support why he likes Baker or trying to get others to gang-up on me? Answer that question in your own mind. And perhaps you will see where I am coming from.

That is very possible.

I didn't see any other player hug Hue after the game.

I saw a player step out of bounds to hand Hue the ball after an Int.


I've heard players say that they now have discipline in practice, something that was missing before.

I've heard 1 person say that even though Baker's playing well, they still have a hard time rooting for him. And that person then brings up college grievances with Baker as proof.......yet that person completely ignores the fact Hue threw coaches and players under the bus the entire 2 1/2 years he was here.


Just seems odd. Certainly not agenda driven at all, right? Teams playing very well, yet some are having a hard time getting behind them?

I like Baker because he brings an attitude. A winning attitude, and yes, even as a rookie, he's got his team mates believing in the team.

Read what they say about him. I'm sorry Hue got fired. I myself don't blame Hue for getting hired by the only team that would hire him.

Pre draft, I wanted Darnold. Not any more. Day by day, Bake wins me over. I agree with Burleson, this guy WANTS us. Hue threw people under the bus. Hue LOST games.

There's a reason Hue got a reputation for being self serving in Oakland. There's a reason Hue churned through coordinators and position coaches here. There's a reason Hue constantly ran to Haslam on every issue. There's a reason Hue threw Sashi under the bus. There's a reason Hue threw players under the bus. There's a reason Hue threw Haley under the bus. There's a reason Hue did a media tour after his firing.

And none of these have anything to do with Baker.

One of the things you like to do on the board is constantly ask why someone who points out something they do or don't like doesn't also point out the other side. Well, why didn't you start a Hue, the Person thread? Or why don't you ever point out Hue's flaws?

And if you are going to start a Baker, the Person thread, why not list any positives? Negatives AND positives. I mean, what are you really trying to accomplish here?

Here's my bottom line. I think Baker could have used better judgment. I wish he would have left things at the non-hug. But he's ours. He's a Cleveland Brown. He hasn't committed any crimes. Cringe when he makes you uncomfortable, but root your butt off for him because there's a good chance we are now going to start experiencing a lot of wins and he's going to be the driving force behind them. If you can't do that, you are going to be miserable and might as well root for another team.

Joel Bitonio was on Dan Le Batard a few days ago, they asked him what he thought about Randall giving Hue the interception ball. Bitonio thought it was hilarious. I think Hue's reputation took a big hit among guys on the team when he did his media tour.

How do you know this?

Randall likes him, obviously, he gave a gift midgame. How many other players would do that for their ex-coach?

As always, you are making this personal. I could refute your comments w/logical answers, but it wouldn't do any good. Thus, think what you will of me. I don't care.

I spoke my mind about my feelings w/Baker and I will discuss them w/posters who stay on topic and do not make things personal. Gage, W8fornextyear {sorry dawg, I can't remember the spelling,] and a few others made logical arguments that I disagreed with but respected. You guys trying to make this personal are emotionally draining and I don't wish to converse w/you any longer. Why can't you guys be content w/having complete control of the Brown's discussions where you force-feed your opinions down everyone's throats and where we get posters who either stop posting or asking for the refs to lock their threads because you guys have hijacked them? You've turned Pure Football into the Political forum.

And it's beyond humorous that you tell me to root for another team because I don't like something, but yet, we have all had to listen to you guys whine and cry about Sashi and Hue for over a freaking year straight. Why didn't you follow your own damn advice and find another team after Sashi got fired and Hue stayed?

Players have been saying how much they ride/rode for him since he got to Cleveland. Past players and current players.

And please understand I am not saying Hue is perfect. Dude talked ENTIRELY too much, and doing so has said some things that made guys feel a certain way. He has to work on keeping his mouth shut.



It was funny to darn near everyone. I laughed my behind off. Love Randall even more because of it. But where did Bitonio say he didn't like Hue?

Actually, there are quotes from Brown's players who say they like Hue. They get ignored because it doesn't fit into what some of you want everyone to think.

But again, this is not a Hue thread. You guys have a ton of Hue threads. This is a thread about Baker's personality and character.

The problem is that I state my opinion on the topic and your opinion is to trash me and get others to join in. You are a freaking bully.
