Cohen’s latest revelations on their own don’t constitute evidence of a crime or impeachable offense by Trump. However, they do show that Trump was part of a negotiation that linked his status as a candidate to his business interests in Russia. They bring Mueller’s team an important step closer to explaining Trump’s Russia ties during the campaign
Sorry - that's another opinion piece and Swish just shot 40 down for posting and putting any faith / stock into opinion pieces.
Bottom line is that the article does state some facts - of which the last paragraph is an accurate summary.... this is potentially another link in the process. That's all it is and that's all any of it will be until Mueller files and makes public his findings.
To me what's much more interesting to speculate on - and what is factually - is all the underhanded ways TRUMP has tried to attack, smear, undermine the investigation. . . oh, and all the inconsistencies .... and the number of times the story has changed throughout the process. . . . . none of which is evidence of anything other than he's acting like someone who is guilty as hell.
The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.
I think Ben and other miss a key point: we are far beyond trying to compare this to Bill Clinton.
Hell, we’ve moved past Nixon territory at this point.
Also, his workable theories later in this article are theories that WE are coming up with. The evidence, or lack thereof, is something none of us have any clue on.
Ben Shapiro is still assuming the only thing mueller is using is witness testimony.
It appears a lot of people didn’t pay attention to the manafort trial. The same comments I’m seeing about Cohen from the talking heads were the same comments people were using about manafort and Gates.
then the paper trail came. And the talking heads stopped talking.
Now, once again, people are applying their own working theories as if we somehow have a special counsel that’s relying on testimony and nothing else.
Individual 1, a guy with all kinds of lawyers and experts surrounding him, is tweeting just like a talking head. Apparently individual 1 thinks mueller is relying on cohen’s testimony and NOT corroborating it with hard evidence, as that’s the only way Cohen gets to keep his plea deal in tact.
So many people are thinking of this as a sprint instead of a marathon. Slow and steady wins the race.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

Except Mueller has not found any crimes related to Russian Collusion.

Flynn took the 5th, and then Mueller introduced himself.

It needs to be looked at if anyone was coerced by the special counsel. If multiple people make allegations of that, their counsel is a sham. A couple of people under Mueller already have a reputation of that.
In jurisprudence, Prosecutorial Misconduct is "an illegal act or failing to act, on the part of a prosecutor, especially an attempt to sway the jury to wrongly convict a defendant or to impose a harsher than appropriate punishment."
Prosecutors are bound by a sets of rules which outline fair and dispassionate conduct.

I know - a gang of unruly Democrats lead by Mueller ! And lets face it - we use the word Democrat but we know Mueller is, in his heart, a communist.
The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.
pieces trickling in. Mueller said Flynn has given so much assistance, that he shouldn't get any jail time.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
not only has flynn helped with the russian interference investigation, but also helped with another criminal investigation.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
correction: he's assisting in 3 DOJ investigations
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
people across all networks are breaking the flynn memo down.
but the overall theme is this across the networks: this isn't good for individual 1.
and its gonna get way worse when the manafort memo gets dropped on friday
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I would argue that Flynn should have never been in any legal jeopardy in the first place.
And you’re argument would fail every time.
You can’t even convince Flynn himself, who remember, is the one who pleaded the 5th, and then took a plea deal.
The guy flipped so much, the Russians are recruiting him for the olympics.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Nope, all of the FBI agents who interviewed him didn't detect any deception. You know who helped conduct those interviews don't you? Yup, James Comey and Peter Strzok who also investigated Hillary Clinton. Hmmmmmm, what's up with that? Not that you care for being objective but here is an article that talks about more of the details.
The most confusing thing in all of this, is why did he plead guilty? Fighting the government costs a lot of money and I don't think Flynn had that. Didn't want to have his family go through that either. If Mueller had to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Flynn was guilty of anything, I bet he couldn't do it. The memo has nothing about collusion with the Russians. In addition, the transition team regularly has dealings with separate countries as part of procedure. Again, if Mueller had to prove that Flynn was guilty of any crime beyond a reasonable doubt he would lose, and lose heavily in court.
To your second statement, since when aren't you allowed to plead the 5th? That's a constitutional right. Hell, even if I didn't do anything wrong, I might plead the 5th to avoid the possibility of Mueller or his group trying to twist my words and trip me up. This is commonly known as a perjury entrapment.
You seem to take anything that comes out of the Mueller investigation as gospel, just an observation.
Please don’t talk about someone not caring to be objective. If I don’t meet the standard, then you certainly don’t.
The WSJ should ask Flynn why he decided to take the guilty plea and start cooperating with mueller.
See, that’s the key point you and others seem to just want to gloss over. Who do you think knows more about the investigation and plea deal? Flynn and his lawyers, or the WSJ?
I mean open you eyes man. You honestly think Flynn’s lawyers would tell him to take a plea deal if he wasn’t in some deep legal jeopardy?
Like seriously, how do you think that convo went?
“Flynn, you didn’t do anything wrong and you aren’t in any legal jeopardy. But take a plea deal, admit guilt, do 19 interviews for 3 criminal investigations out of the goodness of your heart”.
You think it went down like that?
Stop playing games, TB. Stop acting like the only think mueller is using is perjury traps. He manafort trial should’ve told you that mueller is corroborating everything with actual evidence, not just testimony.
Smh.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
At the end of the day, you weren't in the interview room. There are statements from people that were in the room so I'd take theirs over whatever you have to say any day of the week.
I also believe what Jerome Corsi has to say about how the Mueller team tried to coerce him and force a plea deal similar to how they did Flynn. He wouldn't go for it, which was the correct decision. Instead he said no and filed a lawsuit with the DOJ. I applaud this guy for standing up to these crooks!!!
so you're supporting a conspiracy theorist who thought the president was a foreign born muslim, thinks mueller and trump are secretly working together, and claimed that he knew the exact dates of the wikileaks data releases because of his "intuition".
good lord TB. go down with the ship if you want to. gonna be a sad day, but you have nobody to blame but yourself.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
That's not my problem that you believe everything the government or the Mueller team spoon feeds you. So far I haven't seen you question anything they've done. I'm still waiting for that.
You'll believe anything Mueller tells you. He could say X person committed a crime because under my rules its wrong. Sorry but Mueller doesn't define what a crime is.
-Talking to the Russians and getting ready for transition, OMG! OMG! It's happening, yeah, that's not a crime.
-OMG! I spoke, or tried to speak to Assange to try and get some info on the DNC. That's not a crime either. If it were you'd have to indict Fox, CNN, MSNBC, and more.
you said all that, and yet still completely dodged the one thing that throws your whole argument out:
if anything you said was true, why did flynn decide to take the plea agreement?
apparently you must know something that flynn and his lawyers don't. why haven't you gave them a call and told them what you know? im sure they would welcome the help, right?
this isn't some weed dealer with a public defendant. this is a retired 3 star general with a team of well experienced lawyers. and he took a plea agreement, admitted guilt, and cooperated with mueller.
so please, explain to the board, if he didn't nothing wrong, why did he take a plea deal and cooperate on 3 different criminal investigations, including russian interference?
we're all waiting.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
And it’s like, bro I get it. As I constantly say, I don’t want this to happen. Nobody should want a POTUS to go down for conspiracy.
And I get why trump supporters don’t want to believe. Cause then they have to admit they got played on a historic level.
But there’s debating the investigation, and then there’s making up false narratives.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

There’s a beautiful irony in tastybrownies, who’s best known for rolling into this forum to parrot the most insane racist bat guano Grandpa Simpson rants, asking “are you believing what you’re spoon fed?
When a man is drowning he will reach for anything he thinks will help keep him afloat.
This is exactly Trump's basis for attack on all these individuals who have flipped. . . . claiming they are saying and doing anything (lying) to save themselves.
I can see and hear all the Trump stooges agreeing and piling on as I type.
Thankfully there will be corroborating evidence that will verify the truth - at which point Trump and stooges will have to simply revert to ignoring facts, trying to undermine the investigation and character assassinations.
The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.
It's so simple that a blind man should be able to see it. Anyone who refuses to cooperate is the good guy. Anyone working with Mueller is a liar and should get a full sentence. It doesn't take a brilliant mind to deduce that when you have that may people within the White House walls "lawyer up", that something's rotten in Denmark.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
You can talk all you want or believe whatever... I'm still waiting for you to show me your evidence of Russian collusion between Trump and the campaign.
You seem awfully confident but still don't have anything. If you do, show it to me and the others.
translation: "i dont have anything that proves that flynn wasn't in legal trouble, but it doesn't matter cause my feelings say otherwise".
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Thank you for making my point that you don't have any evidence.
i didn't know i was in charge of the investigation. why don't you give mueller a call?
