Mainly what made me happy was Baker faced a lot of adversity and responded to it very well. He didn't get rattled or crumble or look lost. He bounced back with great composure and made some awesome throws.

This is probably the one of the most impressive things about the entire game.

Some on here are bashing the defense but I think they fought the good fight the whole way. They gave up one TD in the first quarter and held the Texans out of the endzone the rest of the game. They do need to clean up the run defense for sure but having to overcome 3 turnovers in the first half I thought it was a gutty performance.

The offense was awful the first half, no points, 3 ints by Baker, one for a pick six. It was good to see Mayfield come out the 2nd half unfazed, the guy has icewater in his viens. No fear firing it downfield after the 3 picks, he is the one. It was a valiant effort, just to much to overcome getting so far behind. The crap holding call on the TD and then the Calloway fumble was the back breaking drive, I think we had a shot if we score there. Too many stupid penalties(some I thought were BS) shooting ourselves in the foot. This was a good team and I think we could have played with them if not for the stupid mistakes. I am excited about next year!

There were some positives.

The offense will survive. Obviously the turnovers in the first half were killers. But they fought back made a bunch of outstanding plays in the second half. They key word is fought.

The defense has been a problem all year. In the beginning of the year it was glossed over because of the turnovers.

Turnovers are great but you can not count on them to save your defense. We have gotten run on all year. And nothing has changed.

We needed to take part of their game away and we did not.

I am surprised Williams didn't try to load the box more. It became obvious that they intended to run the ball.

The Texans are a good team. They have a bunch of guys who can win matchups and they did.

Collins is a lazy player. We need more speed from the outside backers.

We needed to play our best to win this game and we did not.

However, I am ok with where we are. This team wants to win. Baker is a driven guy and no doubt a leader with talent.

We will recover from this and I expect us to play better.

This game is food for thought for Dorsey. He will learn from this and know what is needed.

I have been very cautious in regards to William's defense. We have players to defend the run. But they are not getting it done and it is difficult to determine if the problem is players or scheme.

I saw holding all day

They got a holding call late, negating that fourth-down TD run when we were selling out to stop them. Small matter, though.

From the start, the Texans seemed in high gear. We seemed two steps behind. They're a good team, and good at home. Baker was struggling AGAIN when the plan was quick throws ... they just jumped the lanes. That's not his game

I don't want to be poster-that-critiques-other-posters, but man, that Gameday thread has 2 or 3 guys who need to go back and look at the stuff they post as the game is going on, and seriously check themselves. One guy posted "F this team" when the Texans converted a 3rd down about 5 minutes into the 1st quarter on their first possession, and then deleted it. No worries though, he posted the same thing later in the game. I would hate to be seated next to any of these guys at the game or at a bar while the game was being played. As it is, they make that thread almost unreadable.

It's a stream of consciousness thread as if you are sitting at a bar and reacting in real time.

It's over the top but under that context it's a little more understandable.

Oh and a shout out to the O-Line. They did an excellent job keeping the D off Baker, and JJ Watt was mostly a non factor this game.

Well, I think that we are about 3-4 players away. DT, LB, WR, and maybe a T. (and a PR, please!)

I thought the OL did reasonably well, especially considering who we played.

I thought that the Texans disguised a lot of stuff defensively, and confused Baker.

I was disappointed that we could not run the ball, but that became less likely as we fell way behind.

The waitress was kinda fun. I think I might be engaged. crazy rofl

lolz Bars are fun. I sat next to a loud comedian who kept making jokes about the ATL game, and a mexican who could barely speak english. And then another guy who had nice things to say about the Browns. Bars are fun on game day. I love all the random characters.

It's was ripped out by the defender. A pretty good play, IMO. Then the defender who recovered it in the end zone handed it to another defender who ran it out. That was a mistake. They should've just downed it in the end zone to bring it out to the 20. The only knock on Callaway, IMO, might be awareness of the defender coming at him, and possibly switching the ball to his other hand, but you do risk dropping it if you do. I'm picking nits as it was a good play by the defender.

My biggest concern going into this game was that Clowney and Watt would go off on our OT's and that Mayfield would get hurt. The OL did a great job keeping him clean.

I thought the hold on robinson was pretty bad, considering their OL was holding too

Baker showed that he is still a rookie, although a very good one. His INTS came from film study. They seemed to leave the LB floating to take away those inside throws. Still the kid did not back down.

The penalties killed us as much as the TOs. Hopkins was grabbing and pulling on Carrie on all those PI calls. Garret still gets held constantly, and they are never called, I don't get it.

I think they went away from the run too soon.

Callaway is starting to develop nicely, and Perriman is a good player and is showing up. Landry played at a high level today.

Defensively, we have got to learn to stop the run. We need another top end corner, even with Mitchell coming back. The drop off is steep.

Tretter played hurt and the Oline did not give up a sack, that was amazing against this opponent.

All in all, IMO, Baker tried a little too hard in the first half. Against a weaker defense he might have succeeded. But Houston's defense is the complete package, and I think when he watches the film, he will have some good learning experiences.

Outplayed by a team on a roll, can't complain seeing that we have a lot of rookies and second year players in key positions. If not for penalties, they could have got back in the game, and were looking like it was going to happen.

I think we can win out, and hope we do.

I would like to add, that Baker's ability to move in the pocket is outstanding, and saved himself from a couple sacks. His accuracy on the run is amazing, I wonder if Rasta noticed it,LOL

Exactly, the guy is long in the tooth and I don't care for his effort. MLB is a top position we need to target in the draft.

Dave one of the best things I saw today was after the Calloway fumble baker was the first guy there to pat him on the helmet and encourage him. great leadership!!
