I'm no Sashi defender, but what was our turnover like the offseason before Sashi got here? I only remember the QB dumpster fire (BO, Cody, Kizer), and how we put Kizer through the ringer. Putting myself in my own shoes at this time, I never would've imagined Peppers would have had the game he just did.
He's playing well, and playing with confidence, on both defense and special teams. Neither of those things even seemed possible his first season. So yeah, he definitely "wasn't a football player" when he got here, but I doubt anyone would say that now. Unpacking just his progression since he was drafted would probably require its own thread, but it's an interesting wrinkle to the conversation regarding the talent we actually had in the building right before Dorsey got here.
Just an interesting (to me) tidbit I was thinking about listening to the last game.
