You do realize that last year Florida beat Vanderbilt by 3 points don't you?

Tedd Ginn was the fastest guy on the field, he burnt Florida on the opening play then he got hurt. His injury allowed Florida to double up on Anthony Gonzalez. Without Ginn getting hurt, there is no telling what happens. He was unarguably the best player on the field from either team- evidenced by him getting taken 10th overall in the '07 draft. Without Tedd Ginn, OSU does not go undefeated in the big ten last year. Without Tedd Ginn, Michigan would have easily beat OSU. As I said before, with Ted Ginn OSU scored on the first play of the game.

It was a fluke bro.

Hey, no argument from me.. if Ginn could have touched the ball 20 times, clearly OSU would have scored 140 points....

Unarguably... and by this same logic, Troy Smith was about the 32nd best player on the field... behind Joe Cohen and Roy Hall....

While I appreciate your little Tedd Ginn lovefest.... He wouldn't have made THAT much of a difference... He used his speed to run a kickoff back... it doesn't change the fact that Troy Smith was running for his life all afternoon... so unless Ginn was going to run back 3 more kickoffs for touchdowns, it wasn't going to make that big of a difference.

I won't even get into the fact that he hurt himself CELEBRATING his return.... It's hard to feel bad for a guy that gets hurt during a touchdown celebration... At least McGahee got his leg crushed running the football...

Ah, the old, "Who beat who" argument....

Florida beat Ohio State
Auburn beat Florida
Georgia beat Auburn
Kentucky beat Georgia

Kentucky > Ohio State!!!!

By his logic DC, the Bears should have beat the Colts. Hester returned the opening kickoff for a TD. I wonder what happened?

I hate to sound like i'm making excuses...as most of you know i'm a big OSU fan and homer at times but even i have put the loss behind me and have said FLORIDA handed us a beating that day...they were the better team for sure(that DAY )

Anyways...but Hester is not a WR(well wasn't in that game)....he(Muni) means that Ginn was a vital part of the O...he stretched the field for rest of the guys to run free underneath....

Everyone n their mother knows it that Ginn doesn't really run routes..his fav was the GO n he made some killing off of that all season...gonzo ran routes....all that didn't matter to me cuz with the way our Oline was playing Troy could not hold on to the ball long nuf for ginn to go deep...but i do believe it might have made a diff in score for sure if he was around...would it have changed the outcome of the game? prolly not...but i think he would have certainly helped....best thing for OSU to do was run the ball with all the crazy blitizin FL was doin...boo

I like that argument.

ND beat UCLA
UCLA beat USC
USC beat MICHIGAN
ND BETTER THAN MICHIGAN AND USC.

Obviously he would have "helped" Its not like Ginn is a stiff, I understand that and thats fine. But he isnt making up a 40+ deficit. To blame it on the Ginn injury and the layoff is just ridiculous on Muni's part.

The Colts lost to the Cowboys
who lost to the Jaguars
who lost to the Chiefs
who lost to the Browns...

So Pit was right, the Browns are better than the Colts...

I think it's more the difference between the Big 10 and the SEC than it is the difference between the Buckeyes and OSU... The Bucks had a great team, I'm not taking anything away from them... but they had not seen anything all year even remotely close to the Florida defense. The whole difference in the game was that the Florida DL made the OSU OL look like they were standing still....

i don't think the difference is as big as people make it out to be...

is the sec a better conference? yes

is it eons ahead of the big ten, and everyone else? absolutely not...

with the exception of that bcs debacle, the big ten did win the other two games against the sec (penn st over tennessee, wisconsin over arkansas)

and some sec fans just don't get it... they whine and whine, but really if you ask most college football fans, with the exception of a few morons, most will tell you that the sec is the best in the land... but some sec fans act like they get no respect...

Just for fun... let's compare the top 11 SEC teams to the 11 Big Ten teams...

Florida > Ohio State
LSU > Michigan
Arkansas < Wisconsin
Auburn > Penn State
Tennessee > Purdue
Georgia > Iowa
South Carolina > Minneosta
Kentucky > Indiana
Alabama > Northwestern
Ole Miss < Michigan State
Mississippi St. > Ilinois

I'll give the Big Ten 2 out of those 11. What about you guys?

*Note- this is not intended to be smack, just showing why I think the SEC is much better than the Big Ten.

That's exactly what I'm getting at. With speed like Florida's, I'm sure a lot of Tressell's game plan centered around Ginn. Troy Smith used to love to roll out and hit Ginn on a button-hook. Also, Ted Ginn burnt many defenses on reverse direction plays. Had Tressell known that his best player was going to get hurt on the opening play, I'm sure he would have game-planned differently. As for the score, well, if OSU's offense is on the field longer, Florida's Offense can't score as much. Don't forget, Florida recieved 14 easy points in the first half because of miscues on behalf of OSU's offense. With Ginn in the game, those miscues don't happen. It was a fluke.

Just joking man. I admire anybody that roots for marginal teams, it proves that you are true fan. Kinda like Browns season ticket holders under the post '99 regime.

What ever happened to the ASU vs. that state up north and YSU vs. tOSU topic of this post?

They might actually be good games..........in the first half .

I honestly NEVER expected a tOSU vs. Florida debate to start up in this thread. I am not even sure HOW it did get started .

We were discussing how inferior teams can beat superior teams. I brought up the cirmstances of the 2006-2007 National Championship game as a perfect example. Sorry dude, I didn't know it would turn into this.

Thanks man. I can tell that people who don't root for the Buckeyes don't want Buckeye fans to be happy. Then again, if I rooted for Maryland, or Florida, I would have an inferiority complex also knowing that Ohio State has six National Championships.

No need to apoligize Muni, I just thought it was funny. I was born and raised a buckeye, but I never went to school there and as you can problably tell, graduated from App. State.

Not hatin' at all, just tripping on the way the thread turned.

Possible week one upset going on now. Kent State is beating Iowa State 23-14 with 0:50 left in the 3rd quarter. Go Flashes! First Iowa State, then Kentucky!

The problem is, we might give up a lot more than 23 points, too

ISU has given up more than a few points tonight on turnovers, but Kent has a pretty nice offense. Watch Julian Edelman, he's not quite as exciting as Josh Cribbs was at QB, but its close. He's fun to watch.

Add in that OSU has not gotten one decent call from the officials in... oh, 60 years... and the Buckeyes could probably have like 20 national championships...

Dammit TopDawg, he's onto our master plan... we might as well go ahead and cancel next weeks meeting of the Buckeye Haters Club... I'm sure you, like me, sit around for hours, sometimes days at a time, thinking about how to keep OSU fans from being happy....

Judging from your first comment, you may not have an inferiority complex... but you have a complex none the less...
