Baker Mayfield is a bonafide NFL quarterback, and a good one at that.

He produced for the fans that he asked to show up. That's what is called leading by example.

Chubb is a stud, and next year he will be mentioned in the top of the league.

Great win at home, now go knock Baltimore out of the playoffs.

Among the lots of stuff I saw, I saw a bunch of Browns players rushing over when Baker got hit on the sideline.

Awesome win. I think this group is still learning how to play with a lead because you can't be giving up chunks of points like that near the end of games.

Special teams is still horrible. Too many flags, you had a missed XP, blocked punt. Just awful. This needs to be cleaned up next year.

Genard Avery was a monster today. Big Larry had himself a game too.

Higgins had a great game, Chubb ran well again. Njoku had some nice plays.

Mayfield had a bad start with some throws that were off, but dialed in. Man, his accuracy at times is through the roof amazing.

Thought there should have been a flag on the hit out of bounds. It was borderline, but other QB's get that call.

LOVED his teammates going right to him and letting the Bengals know about it. You can't tell me Mayfield isn't an amazing teammate after seeing that. Those dudes are bought in.

The OPI on Higgins was a joke of a call. There wasn't anything there.

Kitchens called another amazing game. He HAS to stay.

The Browns have a chance to stick it to Baltimore next week, and I hope they do.

We are going to go into 2019 with unbelievable expectations. I hope these players, and whoever is coaching this team realizes that. It's going to get harder. Teams aren't going to look down on you any more. We don't want to be that team with all the hype in training camp, only to come out 1-3. The circus starts next summer. It's going to be insane. I don't know if we've ever had hype like we are about to see. At least for the post-move Browns.

I believe we were as big of favorites as we have ever been since '99. I can't remember even during the 2007 season being almost 10 point favorites. Just crazy, and it showed.

It was one of the most fun, stress free games to watch as we've ever had. Then the blocked punt.

Baker had and amazing game.

I just love Chubb. He is really fun to watch.

We have some serious threats at tight end.

Higgins is becoming a beast.

Landry doing it all, including bodyguard.

The D shut them down.

Pepers is becoming a beast.

Avery is becoming a beast.

Garret is a beast.

Ogunjobi is a beast.

Collins flashed last week, made some really good plays, looked slow today.

I'm concerned about Ward.

The stare down... Like the swagger, wonder about the trade off in creating a lifetime enemy. Is what it is. Legend being born.

Give it to Cribbs.. plus I'm sure he'd give us some good pressers too.

Seriously. Amos Jones has got to go. He had the worst special teams in the league last year with the Cardinals and brought it over to us this year.

Does anyone know if Ward and Landry are ok?

Ward went into the tent.
And Landry looked like he broke/jammed a finger.

J/C -
A very odd sensation throughout most of this game. We were comfortable - easily winning - and it seems that as as Browns' fan I cannot get used to that yet!

Then surprise, surprise, they get a garbage time TD, blocked punt then leads to a TD.

"Oh my here we go again" I tell myself. I was not to worry though. Mayfied to Njoku (along with the 30 second staredown of Hue Jackson) sealed the game almost as quickly as I had started to get sweaty palms.

I sure hope Ward is OK. He looked woozy being helped off. We need CB depth regardless.

Avery was a beast today. He should have had an INT but that's nitpicking. He is a real gem. Ogunjobi is a hard man to be playing to that level with that injury but that is the make-up of this team now, under Williams, I feel. They are tougher - physically and mentally - see how they rallied when Baker got hit slightly late. That has been missing for years, especially considering the cheap shots we have had to take from Pit, Balt etc. I love the mindset shift. Williams must receive credit for that.

Mayfield started out so-so, to his standards, then went 13 or 14 consecutive completions. The guy is light years ahead of where a rookie should be. Continuity on the offensive side of the ball is a MUST, especially because Kitchens also calls great plays, match-up wise. He schemes to our strengths.

Landry should be our 3rd QB. That throw to Perriman was a beauty! Also, Perriman has been more than impressive since he came in. Really impressed with him - he is a true deep threat and a big target.

Higgins also had a great game. The OL - what can you say - the Bengals D was decimated but they have a really good front 4 and Mayfield was untouched all day.

Just really impressed by the team, the job the coaches and staff have done, to make us look like a viable playoff contender. I so don't want that to be lost in an un-needed shake-up come the off-season but if it cranks us up a notch, then let's go. That's why I'm not a GM.

Not to mention he’s part of this staff that’s so bad. I’m scrapping everything associated with ST

This team is so fun to watch.

-We got a guy in Ogunjobi playing, and making an impact, with a torn bicep.
-Peppers, who most people wrote off last season, playing like a boss.
-Avery, a 5th rounder, making great plays at various points throughout the game.
- Of course, Baker Mayfield, leading the team and still showing that confidence all game long (esp. that Hue look at the end).
- The Chubb/Off. line combo(mainly interior) continues to be successful and forces the opposing defense to be honest, leaving plays open for Mayfield.
- Another 5th rounder, Higgins, proving to be of equal utility as Landry.
- Schobert, Duke, Njoku, Mitchell, and others show that the youth and talent of this team is exciting to see unfold.

The only concern is that of Ward. Another concussion. Maybe Greg Williams, despite what posters were saying, was right about how Ward tackles. He's a good CB but his frame is concerning moving forward.

I felt like there was no way we lose this game. Before the game even started.

We got so many demons off of us this year, that I feel like we can win every game.

It's the most thrilling feeling!

I wanted Chubb instead of ward, still do. Ward is good but he doesn’t have an nfl body and refuses to tackle correctly. He really should take a long look at whether or not he should retire. Concussions are very bad and multiple in the same season is even worse. Some people are just concussion prone. Doesn’t mean he is a bad player but you can’t count on him

I still think Hue was trying to pull some underhanded stuff on Haley and by default the whole team. Why else would Haslam go into the final day of Hue with the thought of firing Haley only? As has been reported, Dorsey had to talk him into firing Hue also. I am betting that Baker and the rest of the team know what Hue was doing. Hence why he was called “fake” and why there is animosity with Baker and Hue.

I agree that Avery has really been coming on as a full time LBer, after initially being used as a designated pass rusher early on.

Kirko's injury accelerated his development.

I must admit to being somewhat "dismayed" by our defensive play in the latter half of the 4th qtr. This was allayed to some degree by our offense the last two minutes, but it did bother me...

Agreed. It makes one think that a top quality CB should be at the top (or near to) of our wish list for next season...

Jc...

Did not catch the 1st half..

Man, it's been forever since I saw a Browns team with so much happiness and "swag" we have to keep that together for next year.

Man, Baker has some incredible throwing windows...amazing when you have a really good QB, mediocre WRs will look actually good (Perriman and Calloway)

Landry does all the things that doesnt show up in the stat sheet (leads others, blocks) while a lot on here bash him...He proves himself weekly to me, and he is also another reason our WR core has improved...You can not tell me that he doesnt open things up for others to make plays...There is no way Calloway or Higgins or Perriman...will make the some plays they do facing #1 coverage all day...improved the core from the top to the bottom.

Big props to Njoku and Perriman...been harsh on them at points...both have improved alot...I cant say I saw Calloway much as I only saw the 2nd half...but he has played so much better when he is more limited...I'm sure gaining experience has helped too.

Ogu was a beast...Peppers played big, minus that horrible special teams blunder...

Not going to lie, I have an embedded fear as the game got within 8 points (I'm sure that's because of our horrid past) but it feels like a new breed of dawg out there...

Merry Christmas all my friends!

I don't have to look it up, Cribbs would be the least experienced coordinator in the league by a lot. If he didn't play for the Browns no one would want him. We had to hire Amos Jones because we had a lame duck head coach, that is not the case this time. We have a real team now, we should be able to get a very good coach.

Just a sidebar note on Avery.

Throughout this year when you look at the quotes of the players in regards to Avery; nothing but praise.

When you isolate on him and watch. He displays power and quickness.

He is the type that after this season. That second year growth should really kick in.

He could very well turn out to be a great find.

From the start you could see he could rush the passer. Now he is starting to show other abilities.

You can see he is a strong dude. On bull rushes he drives the blocker. Now I am seeing his speed in downfield tackles.

Great grab in the fifth.

I know it, you know it, the rest of us know it....too bad the goofball coaches we had to start the season didn't know it.

Add in we refused to give Baker reps in camp and he only came in once TT was hurt.

Had we ditched Hue earlier, we would probably be in the playoffs.

Think about that.

Man, those stats glitter. BM just went wild, and Hue got his message, I think. IceMan stare.

Not sure if I read it correctly at the bar PastorMarc. Did I see that we held them to under 100 yards combined offensively for the first half? Because I thought it was 35 or 40 yards, but then i lost the screen graphic. What a statement half for defense if what I think that I saw was true,

The rush to Mayfield out of bounds was huge, and I think one of the first in there was Landry, but not sure I got the number right. These teasers are balling out for the Browns and have BM's back. It was great to see how many stayed in the filled stands. Great to see Cleveland rocking like this.

Go, Browns!

Also just a quick note...

Anyone notice how healthy we have been compared to alot of teams this year (Bengals and Redskins come to mind) but honestly we have only really had a few banged up players miss a few games (Higgins, schobert, Ward, and Randall missed a game) Kirksey was our only big loss...

I think that goes pretty far as to how are team has played...normally we would be on to our 4th string QB by norm standards of years past.

Yup Landry confronted Dunlap, and Higgins was trying to mediate the situation...but big team effort there.

Agreed. We have had pretty crappy ST's with blocks and missed kicks, all kinds of issues.

We are too vulnerable. Not just the dumb play of these people at times, but they look seriously under-prepared. This coach needs replaced. Look at what ST's have cost us this year over a season. Can't have it next year IMO. Clean it up. WHY is he doing this for us?

Thanks for the confirmation thumbsup

Mayfield really is a heady and alert runner, and is even more dangerous with that in the mix, because he decides and goes quickly. Love his feet, but as a coach, I do not care for the way he swings the ball around one-handed. Bad habit that can be fixed. But if he scores doing it his way or moves the sticks, so be it. Just can't be feeling god about ball security with that loaf of bread.

Another win, a sweep, another monkey off our backs, and a Christmas gift for Huey and Marvelous Marv. Go, Browns.
