IMO there's a strong possibility we are flexed into the Sunday night game next week. The odds probably increase dramatically if the Steelers lose to the Saints.

But, either way, the Ravens clinch a playoff spot next week with a win (they hold the tie breaker over Titans/Colts)

Baker vs Lamar factors in as well.

IMO, the NFL will do it

It would make sense. Ravens with a playoff spot on the line against one of the true up and coming teams, with Baker Mayfield at QB .... yeah, I could see that .... although I am not sure how far in advance they have to "flex" a game. We were flexed to a night game against the Broncos a month and a half in advance. You have to allow fans the ability to make their plans.

Hmm ... guess I was wrong there. 6 days notice only for week 17.

NFL Flexible Scheduling
http://www.nfl.com/flexible-schedules

Week 17 start time changes could be decided on 6 days notice to ensure a game with playoff implications.

Wouldn’t colts and titans be the game to flex?

Ravens would hold the tie breaker over both, so if the Steelers win the Ravens are the last team who holds their fate

if the Steelers lose? you'd have Ravens fans, tons of Browns fans, and Steeler fans watching with bated breath.

Just think how many times they could show Baker staring at Hue!

Need a solid team effort to beat the rats.

Ratters are next. Flex or not, flog them where you find them. Hope Kitchens is ready for this. Keeping up on both sides of the ball next week would be a statement win.

Just want to pound on them, take care of the ball. Be dangerous; be relentless.

Is that an opinion, or a fact? The reason I ask is that I haven't seen it anywhere.

Never mind, I found it,

vBrowns-Ravens regular season finale moved to late afternoon timeslot
https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/bro...fternoon-timesl

The Browns' regular season finale at Baltimore will kick off at 4:25 p.m.
The NFL announced the kickoff time change Sunday evening. The game was originally slated to start at 1 p.m. CBS will carry the game.
The Ravens need to beat the Browns to clinch the AFC North. If the Browns win and Steelers beat Cincinnati, the Steelers will win the AFC North and the Ravens will be eliminated.
The Browns on Sunday beat Cincinnati to secure a third-place finish in the AFC North.

Agree, for people coming from out of town it can make travel arrangement difficult. If you are planning to come to a 1pm game but have to fly home on Sunday night to get to work Monday morning, you'll have an 8/830 flight home and have to miss the end of the game

This is not the reason why. They flex the game with the most playoff implications, our game is not that.

but it might not be the national game ... there were 3-4 games flexed to 4:25

This schedule flex sucks for me. I like the games being over by 1pm PCT. It gives me the rest of the day to be productive. I’ve made plans in the afternoon this coming Sunday based on the previous start time. Now I’ll have to record the game and avoid the Internet all afternoon so that I can come home and watch it in the evening.
I wish the NFL would just set the schedule and leave it alone.

Sorry, but not me. Highlight of my day right there. I'll be throwing some sort of a bit of a party for this game, and 430PM fits the schedule. Week 17, bashing of the Rats, totally gonna be worth it

I'm happy the game got flexed to there, it is a win win for the Browns.

Given the Titans, Colts game, I had no delusions of an 8 pm matchup.

Being on 4:25 will mean at least a large portion 1/3rd, 1/2, or more of the USA will see the Browns game.

The Browns Ravens winner is paroumount to the outcome of the AFC North division winner, also including the steelers vs bengals,
But as they told me, the Bengals have 17 injured, and not much illusion to winning next week.

Not to mention, the Texans,Colts,Titans, fans will be watching to see who they may have to play in the playoffs,
including the Dolphins fans will be watching if they are still alive.

This will be a big game, and a chance to knock the Ravens out of the playoffs, most probably!

One way or another there's going to have to be a division winner for the AFC North, so if the Steelers and Ravens ended up with a same record somehow because of a tie vs the Browns, the Ravens and Steelers would enter tie breaking procedures.

I don't remember the order, but only two teams are looked at at one time, even in 3 way ties,

the head to head mathcup winner is a tie breaker
The result in each teams own division (the one closer to winning their own division) is a tie breaker, if the two teams are from different divisions
The results vs AFC teams, better record vs your own conferences teams is a tie breaker, though it might be further down than the common opponents

The results vs common opponents, if there were 3 or more, or less than 3 or more, better record is a tie breaker, somewhere in the order

The total touchdowns scored by each team, whichever team scored more touchdowns is a tie breaker

A coin flip, if no other way is found to differentiate, eventually they come to a coin flip as a tie breaker to decide who makes the playoffs.

I read this about 4 years ago, from the nfl tie breaking procedures on nfl .com, and my memory of it,

IIRC. or it's something similar to that.

I'm reading that if we would have made that FG week 1 against Steelers, and won, that our next game against the Ravens would be us playing for the division win! wow.... Thats crazy.

Try not to think about losing by 3 in New Orleans after missing 2 FGs and 2 EPs. Then there's the 3 point loss to Tampa when Peppers fumbled a punt near the 50 in a tie game with 3 mins left on the clock, which TB turned into a game winning FG. Mayfield was playing that game and I like our chances of getting at least a FG with that field position, if Peppers had held on to the punt. Oh well ... ifs and buts, candies and nuts, Merry Christmas anyway.
