Should move them all to Puerto Rico. Nice clean slate there to build anything they want. Give the current inhabitants the state side properties of the Trumpians.
No need for a wall in PR, but they can do whatever they like.

Could take it back further than that . Go back to banana wars ot even further all the way back to the 1840s and the watermelon war . In the timeframe you aretalking about the United Fruit Company were the big p!ayers and thanks to lobbying dollars they got to determine policy in Central America ...im familiar . It changes nothing about my comment that the parents are directly responsible .

Your claim earlier was that had the parents stayed with their kids in Guatemala they'd in your words "still be breathing." The situation in place shows that to not be easily the case at all. If you wish to gish gallop around the issue , have at it.

A wall could have prevented this. Federal gun control could have prevented millions of deaths.

What situation would that be ? The boy would still be alive if his father had left him in Yalambojoch . He would be poor and have little chance to escape that poverty but he would be alive today .

Presuming the child would be fine is a big jump to make, based on the violent crime rates. Children in particular have a high incidence rate of exposure to violent actors such as drug cartels and youth gangs in central america, Including Guatemala. Heck at one point it was safer to be in Iraq than Guatemala based on civilian murder rates.
I will additionally state that presuming the child was a victim of these actors is also just that: a presumption. This is why our asylum process includes things like an interview process. This is to help establish whether someone does qualify as a refugee. Unfortunately our current admin is instructing CBP to make it as difficult as possible to make an asylum case. You must either declare asylum at a port of entry or be in the US already. So if CBP is turning people away before the port at the bridges , how do you apply for asylum?

So if CBP is turning people away before the port at the bridges , how do you apply for asylum? You don't. That has been the goal/point all along. Then it becomes easy to say: "They need to come here the right way," while knowing that no such thing exists, given current policy.

OBAMA WARNS CENTRAL AMERICANS: 'DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO THE BORDERS': President Obama says tens of thousands of Central American children flooding into the U.S. along the southern border have created a "humanitarian crisis," and he appealed directly to parents to stop sending kids north, ABC's DEVIN DWYER notes. "Our message absolutely is don't send your children unaccompanied, on trains or through a bunch of smugglers," Obama told ABC's Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview. "We don't even know how many of these kids don't make it, and may have been waylaid into sex trafficking or killed because they fell off a train. " Do not send your children to the borders," he said. "If they do make it, they'll get sent back. More importantly, they may not make it." Vide of Obama

What do you mean “you people”? You people who don't think having control of our borders is a good idea. I don't mind people moving in to this country. I just don't like it when they are sneaking in under cover of dark. If you don't like the idea of a southern border wall, offer a solution that ends illegal entry.

Solutions have already been offered.
Obama deported more than anybody, to the point where border crossings under his watch were at a net negative.
And he didn’t need a wall to accomplish that. It says something that you conservatives need a wall to accomplish the same thing the Dems did without one.
So an easy solution is for you to elect better leadership. But that increasingly appears you aren’t capable of that.

Trump ,as I recall, offered the dems a million more DACA recceipents to get the border problem fixed and they flat out said no way. I guess the Hispanic voting demographic was more important than to give Trump a win. Maybe the libs should elect better leadership.

We need to keep them from getting here in the first place. My question is what percentage of the people who entered did President Obama deport? Don't bother, nobody knows the answer. Are you against illegal entry? A yes or no answer is all that is necessary. Anything else is spin. You are in favor of law or you aren't. If you are, then deporting isn't the answer. Keeping them out is the answer.

you've already asked that same tired ass question.
just because most people, including myself, are against illegal entry, doesn't automatically mean we're for a wall.
thats what your argument basically boils down to, and its beyond a flawed argument.
and you know whats funny? damn near half the illegals here came through the country LEGALLY. that means a lot of them came through the border, or through a flight.
thats one thing you and others completely fail to talk about. or maybe its you do know its happening, but it doesnt fit your tired narrative that there's a huge crisis of illegals crossing into the country.
thats something YOU haven't proposed a solution for whatsoever. what do we do about the people who come here legally, which accounts for damn near half the "illegal" crossings, and then overstay their visas?
a wall aint gonna fix that one, buddy. and since half of the illegal migrants come through legally, that means you want to spend 40 billion + on a wall that MIGHT solve half the problem.
which most people don't support a wall, mainly because it wont work.
and oh yea peen, who was suppose to pay for that wall again?
so lets recap. you want to spend 40 billion + tax paying money on a wall that wont stop migrants from crossing over illegally, that mexico was suppose to pay for, won't stop legal entry by migrants who overstay their visas, only furthers the tension and divide between us and our neighbor, and will tick off the americans who actually LIVE by the border, because not only is the wall NOT supported by the majority of the country, it aint even supported by the majority who actually live by the border.
so.....what are you actually arguing in favor of, again?
nonsense, thats what.

You don't want a wall but are against illegal entry.....we are making progress.
So....what is the solution?
Here is my position. We have to stop illegal entry from the South. I saw maps of entry points from all directions....people saying maybe we need to build a moat filled with sharks.....you saw that didn't you? No doubt people can get in from various entry points, but it is pretty evident the greatest problem is from the south.
We also need to allow those in here a means to stay. It isn't realistic to deport maybe 15-20 million people.
You don't make them citizens. You simply allow them to stay, in other words, they can work, pay in and collect social security and all other benefits except one, they get no vote in the process. They can't vote. Their children born here are citizens....the problem takes care of itself over time.
As for the wall, fence, whatever....call it a jobs program if you are going to harp on who pays for it....we are paying a boatload for the illegals who are now in the system. Call it a road, it's just not horizontal, it's vertical. A vertical road running along our southern border.
You wouldn't have to make it continuous. There are advantageous entry points and dangerous entry points...places across scrub desert 80-100 miles from anything. People will die entering there....just patrol those with guard towers with overlapped vectors, riders on horseback or vehicle, and drones.
We have to secure our border. Kicking 3 or 4 out of 100 out isn't the answer. The answer is keeping them out.

what progress? that point was never a debate lol.
also, i was the one who cracked the joke about the moat with sharks.
my solution would be to divert assets from the middle east, and help our NEIGHBORS with the cartel problem. and i think thats whats getting lost in all of this: we keep talking about mexicans as if they're ISIS, and we treat them as such. those are our neighbors, and part of a viable solution would be to treat our neighbors like, i dunno, neighbors.
because im pretty sure they're tired of american criminals running into their country to escape the law too, which happens quite often. did you hear about the white supremacist who ran to mexico to escape the law? talk about irony.
i actually agree with your amnesty idea. i also agree there's no way we're gonna deport that many people, especially when the reality is that with most of them, their only crime is indeed crossing illegally, cause they're pretty much model citizens in any other aspect.
i agree with not making it auto-citizens. green card is fine. i would actually take it a step further and say that a few semesters learning the english language should be required as well. i dont necessarily like that idea, but i think in the interest of compromise, thats a more than reasonable thing to require.
i think beefed up security is a great idea and i've never argued against it. i just think we need less barriers (symptoms) and more assisting our neighbor (root causes). what do they need help with to make their country more stable? those are the kinds of things we need to do to help keep people from wanting to cross over to begin with. there's way too much tech in this world to have to rely on a wall that can be defeated with a rope (trump's own words, btw).
my biggest beef is that the cost of apply for a visa/green card is nuts. i've stated before that we can't expect people from central/south america to put up the same amount of money that europeans do because the currency value, economies, and overall economic situations simply don't add up.
its been a while since we did the paperwork for my wife, but the cost of a green card for her was 1500+ or so. thats easy when my wife literally paid for it herself cause she made money in euro's. not so much for somebody who makes Queztal *currency in quatemala.
1500 dollars is about 1300 euro. 1500 dollars is 11,590 in Queztal. thats a huge problem when the average monthly salary is 4100 Q, or 530 dollars a month, compared to Germany, where the average is 2,208 euro, or 2500 a month. you also have to take into account purchasing power, which the euro in germany has strong purchasing power compared to central/south americans.
im not saying we have to make it dirt cheap for people in struggling countries, but this one size fits all price to come here legally needs to be adjusted. the cost alone makes it worth the risk to come here illegally.

I don't have a problem with making the process affordable. In the mean time, it still doesn't excuse illegal entry.
Shut down the border entry points, then work on the other.

You are either for illegal entry or you aren't. It really is that simple.
Stop illegal entry, then work on making the process easier for those who wish to become Americans.

not really.
your idea is to shut the border down and put a wall up.
obama has already given trump the blueprint on lowering the number of illegal crossing without having to do any of those things. its not my fault you or the guy you support are too clueless to simply follow the blueprints.
but i guess i shouldnt have such high expectation for somebody who voted for a reality tv star.

I really don't have a problem w/illegal immigration.
A few reasons why:
--I don't believe that people should be not permitted to better their opportunities.
--I think the immigration laws are absurd. It's too hard to enter legally.
--This is a selfish reason, but it's true. I don't want the prices of groceries and labor costs to soar through the roof. Who do you think picks the oranges, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, grapes, etc? Middle aged white dudes? Urban blacks? What about workers in restaurants? Lawn care?
Summary: Illegal immigrants fill a need in the United States and should be afforded opportunities to improve the quality of their lives as citizens of the world.
I don't care if you agree or not. That is my stance.
I'd much rather ship out the lazy free-loaders and hateful racists than I would try and block people who want to work for a living.

I've said this before and there seems to be no better place to post it again than in here.I would rather die trying to get into this country than live in the conditions these people live in. I've seen first hand the cockroach infested slums where it looks like a full on warzone, where they don't even have clean water to drink much less access to education where they could learn enough to get out. I believe we need to help these people, but it has to be in some sort of controlled way. Blaming border patrol for doing their job is political posturing.
BP "kills 2nd child" is just another egregious correlation to "own the cons". These people want us to take them seriously but every time you look into one of these claims with even the smallest bit of research you realize it's gross propaganda standing on the bodies of children to make some political point. Disgusting.

Care to explain this one, trump supporters? If Mexico is paying for the wall, why did trump feel the need to shutdown the government?

This is the problem with the gop and trump.
You got awesome news about the stock market, awesome news about the fed rate, and also the jobs report.
But what are republicans and trump talking about? The wall. Instead of promoting the good, they are clearly deciding to focus on the most divisive issue imaginable right now. Any other president would’ve risen to new heights with news like this. But not trump.
Nope. Good or bad, we’re gonna focus on the one topic that keeps minorities and independents from voting for us. Just can’t get out of their own way if their lives depended on it.

Are you talking about the same Israel that undergoes all of the bombings and terrorist attacks or are you talking about a different Israel?

They let a lot thu to work and a lot are stuff fired over the border. Do you consider that "working"? See while I'm for border protection, half of the illegal people in the U.S. are people who overextended their visas. So while a border fence, I mean let's call it what it is, will help, it isn't an actual solution.
