From Walter Football on Devin White. Definitely intriguing. I would only trade up for Wlliams or maybe White. Here is how one of the National scouts summarized White. "This kid could end up being similar to Ray Lewis. I'd take White over any of the linebackers this year. He's unbelievable. Unless he gets hurt or completely shuts it down to protect himself, he'll be the first linebacker drafted next year. He's the complete package. Great character. He's the signal-caller of the defense with a super football IQ. He's big, study, and stout enough for Mike - middle linebacker; swift enough for Will - weakside linebacker -, great athlete and coverage instincts. Stacks up the stat boxes, all of them. He's fast, an explosive tackler, and [has] elite reactionary quickness. "Right now, he's among the best, and maybe the best, I've scouted. Better athlete and versatility than [Dont'a] Hightower. More explosive, violent, and bigger than C.J. Mosley; same level of instincts. Better than Jerod Mayo at Tennessee. Bigger than Jonathan Vilma while being more violent and instinctive than D.J. Williams, same kind of freak athlete explosiveness-wise. [A] thumper like Sean Weatherspoon. Basically, he's a bigger version of Roquan Smith in the 240-250-pound range. He's FUN to watch. Unbelievable stamina and motor. He could be the best linebacker ever to come out of LSU." Read more at http://walterfootball.com/draft2019ILB.php#QA19fRyGDUGjPF5g.99

White will probably get picked starting at #5 and the latest #10. We will probably be around #15-16...good DTs and corners still in play in that range. Probably going corner again.

Dan Marino drafted #27, Aaron Rodgers drafted #24. HOF players can be found at any spot in the first round if you know what you’re looking for. So far, Dorsey has shown he knows what he’s looking for.

We will probably be around #15-16...good DTs and corners still in play in that range. Probably going corner again. You never know. Linebackers and Safeties always seem to drop in the draft. My friend and I were shocked when Fitzpatrick and Derwin James dropped as far as they did in the last draft. Jaylon Smith and Myles Jack had injuries, but they dropped way further than I thought they would too.

I care about two things with a linebacker in the NFL today: 1. Can he rush the passer? 2. If he can't rush the passer, can he stay on the field for all three downs? If the answer isn't 'yes' to either of those two questions he shouldn't be picked in the first two rounds.

If I'm drafting somewhere between pick 13 - 17 there are still a handful of interior DL prospects I would take ahead of a linebacker. Excluding Williams and Oliver who will surely be off the board before we pick I would select: Raekwon Davis, Alabama Jeffery Simmons, Miss St Christian Wilkins, Clemson Derrick Brown, Auburn Jerry Tiller, ND
In my opinion, one of these guys will do more for our defense than a linebacker. These are the primary playmakers in William's defense. Upgrading Coley and pairing a more dynamic 1 gap penetrator with Ogunjobi is a better use of a first round pick in this draft were interior DL is the strength of the draft.

My first mock of the season;
Your score is: 30827 (GRADE: A+)
Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 15: Williams, Jonah, OT, Alabama (A+) Round 2 Pick 15: Tillery, Jerry, DT, Notre Dame (A+) Round 3 Pick 14: Pinckney, Michael, OLB, Miami (FL) (A+) Round 3 Pick 25: Gardner-Johnson, Chauncey, FS/SS, Florida (A+) Round 4 Pick 15: Gilbert, Mark, CB, Duke (A+) Round 5 Pick 5: Butler, Emmanuel, WR, Northern Arizona (A+) Round 5 Pick 15: Hill, KJ, WR, Ohio State (A+) Round 5 Pick 26: McSorley, Trace, QB, Penn State (A+) Round 6 Pick 15: Quarterman, Shaquille, ILB, Miami (FL) (A+) Round 7 Pick 5: Blankenship, Rodrigo, K, Georgia (A+) Round 7 Pick 24: Aston, George, FB, Pittsburgh (A+)
I was surprised to see Williams there at pick 15 and grabbed him! They have Chauncey Gardner listed as a safety, but he is more of a slot CB to me. I see him in a BBC role. Likewise Gilbert has great ball skills and might be better suited to FS then CB. McSorley strikes me as a perfect B/U to Mayfield. After Trace, I was just looking at a bunch of names I had never seen, so I just picked for positions.

Sleeping on the Buckeyes, homer or not I am taking them. Dre'Mont and McLaurin are the two I'm eyeballing. Wouldn't mind Booker for Special Teams (main reason for McLaurin) either.

I love McClauren, I think he is going to be a steal somewhere. I think Dremond is going to get over drafted. Good player but I saw him as a top 15 pick? Absolutely not.

DT is an extremely deep position
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

QB depth just got thinner in an already thin draft class. Oregon’s Herbert, who many had as the top rated QB, is choosing to stay and play his senior year. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/2415263002This leaves Haskins in the top QB slot if he chooses to declare. As it stands it’s likely to land him in a Giants, Jags, or Bengals uniform...(assuming the new coach wants to dump Dalton. (Assuming there’s a new coach.)) I’d jump if I were him.

Herbert staying school hurts us slightly. The more QBs, the more non-QBs who fall to us. It seems to be a pretty week class. Haskins, Drew Lock, and Daniel Jones, all seem to be guys who can go in the first round.

Gruden could dump Carr to get ‘his guy’. Anything is possible when you dump a guy like Mack.
The Bucs could also go away from Winston. I know I would.
Looking at it from the outside there’s not a lot of QB needy teams ahead of us in the draft. I’m not sure having multiple first round talented QBs would help us much in the draft. The bigger thing in my mind is hoping real talent doesn’t fall into the hands of other AFCN teams. I want Ben to go with no one waiting in the wings. I want a decade or more of Bubby Bristers and Kordell Stewarts or worse. If Dalton gets dumped I want nothing more than to watch the Bengals fall into shambles again with Kitna-esk or worse QBing for a decade or better.

I think Jameis is toast in Tampa Bay the way they jerked him around this year does not seem like the way you would want to treat your QB of the future.
The QB market this off-season is bleak. Some team that needs a QB is going to end up paying Joe Flacco a ton of money and immediately regret it.

How stupid is Herbert? I know a lot of scouts soured on him this year, but returning to school isn't the answer.

Off-season is always my favorite part of the year..
Assuming we keep our current crew together, here's whom I would target or look for in the off-season (of course a lot different course can be taken) I do expect Jamie Collins to be gone...and that's why it reflects so.
2019 FA:
Trey Flowers DE: Man I was mocking this guy in the mid rounds the year he came out...an animal and a freak...Put him opposite Myles...and look at the first that would cause...he will improve the pass rush and run D...Ogbah slides over as our primary wave DE, and provides great depth...something we dont have...Flowers will cost big bucks, but hes young and has a terrific motor...Must improve that front 7 first and foremost.
Denzel Perryman LB- Classic thumper with outstanding motor, plays through the whistle...Big issue has been health with him...we bring him to take someones job, if not at very worst he provides great depth and can play in run stuffing situations, as he excels as a run plugger.
Allen Bailey DT- Now we would move him back inside, and push Coley as our backup (where he would be better served as our main wave DT behind Ogu and Bailey...improves our rotation, as we dont have much on that front 4...Will bring consistency, durability, and has been noted as a great mentor and leader by many in the Chiefs locker room.
Jesse James TE- Stealing talent from a division rival is nice, guy has really improved his blocking...was rather suspect his first few years. Provides another weapon for Baker...Seems like Devalve isnt really valued...Fells is merely solid..Njoku is our guy, but cant block a lick...We seem to like those multiple TE sets.
Jeremy Hill RB- I still wouldn't mind us locking for a cheap power back to spell Chubb at times (if he goes down, our power run plays are doomed) only real reason why I have Jeremy Hill, he will be dirt cheap coming off injury
Heading into the draft we can look at OT, WR,CB,etc...and find depth and competition at other multiple spots...and yes even a returner!
Of course can go many ways...but say..
1. Devin White LB-our LB core will be something to reckon with.
2. Parris Campbell WR- Adds a big play target and adds pure speed (hands do scare me, but will eat the combine up)..Need a surplus of weapons for our franchise QB
3. David Edwards OT-Purely a RT...hopefully can push for a job and add protection for Baker.
3. Kris Boyd CB- A nice cover guy whom can provide depth while learning.
4. Demarcus Christmas DT- Slipped some this year, will provide an arsenal of depth to our new improved Dline.
The rest provide depth all around, specially find some special team gems.

How stupid is Herbert? I know a lot of scouts soured on him this year, but returning to school isn't the answer. His brother is going to be a freshman at Oregon next year. He wants to play with him. Oh so one of those stupid put the family above himself type of guys... You'll never see a great like Aaron Rodgers do that

Nice info, and I agree this is going to be a fun offseason I agree. We won't be bickering over every QB. If we do it will be about some 5th round guy we draft as a developmental guy. We are still going to bicker the merits of positions and players, but it will be about who can make us better, not who is going to turn us around. I promise i will not rip in to anybodys picks and ideas on where we need to improve...well...unless they are totally stupid.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

I reserve the right to facepalm if someone comes here with a mock draft that has us taking Nick Bosa at #16.

I reserve the right to facepalm if someone comes here with a mock draft that has us taking Nick Bosa at #16. Or people that mock 15 different trades that land us extra first rounders for the next three years and such. Just pick players at the draft slots we’re in. Anything more is just playing Madden. It’s fantasy writing.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
