I'd tell the story where I was dumbass as was blown across the flight deck (running faster than i have in my life trying to stop the whole time ) and slammed into an S-3's intake (obviously the S-3 wasn't turning(running))

I am not sure that you should call yourelf a dumbass Navy Dawg for what you did...........that happens quit often!

If I am not mistaken that actually happened once.............and the person did get sucked into the intake and it was turning...............if not mistaken the person actually lived to tell about it!

That is one lucky dude!

LOL, no. What you are speaking about is the USS Roosevelt in 1992, an ABH was training another ABH on checking the launch bar and shuttle. The man giving the training got sucked into the left intake of VA-65's A-6E Intruder. He was actually sucked in, not blown by another aircraft. He did live with minimal injuries. He was lucky his cranial came off to FOD the engine, because he would have launched with the jet and would have died then. No one relized he had been sucked in until his cranial FODed the engine.

Okay.............thanks man for filling me on the details!

I did spend five years aboard U.S.S. Forrestal as a BM............that is not an avaitaion BM..............so did not do the flight deck detail.

I mostly was a coxswain which meant I steered a lot of liberty boats to shore....and I spent a lot of time on the bridge as BMOW during general quarters and unrep situations!

I respect you so much for what you did...............nobody knows what it is like to serve on the flight deck unless they have been there!

Thanks so much for all you did..............we were never shipmates but we were sailors..................good enough for me!

Ahh the USS "Forrest fire", I did two deployments on the Forrestal's sistership, the "Sinkin' Sara" USS Saratoga.
Just for the record.... I am still in the Navy, I retire in '08

I'd probably talk briefly about my sister finding me when I was 24, since I didn't even know I had a sister until then. Sappy I know but it's the best thing I can think of! However, I don't really watch Jeopardy much at all.

Another thing about obese people that drives me nuts. Well, not obese but just plain fat. When your in the grocery store and some lard ass is in a motorized cart b/c they are too lazy to walk And I know, some people can't help it b/c of a gland problem or something, but look in there carts and you see Ho Ho's, cakes, ect. You know then they don't have a medical issue that made them big and they are just lazy.
