It also depends on hwo well that 'thrid round' QB played to get his team to the playoffs...
I know from the comments in the post above where you responded to Mox, that you are thinking Frye and Quinn....
And had you read my comments, you would have seen that I was assuming (since it's just a "what if" kinda thing) that the 3rd rounder played well.

clicking on ya, daman.
CF is never gonna be anything much better than a bit above average, at best. I like the kid, I really do, and think teams could win with him. I kinda feel bad for him right now, you know what I mean? It must suck to have his dreams of being Browns QB dashed because they drafted the WonderKid to take his place.
But.... it's all about winning and, in BQ, if you believe the hype, we have a quarterback who potentially could be a great one. As in Top 3 in the NFL.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Quinn will ever be a top 3 qb....it is a little early for that.
I will say that Quinn should be good enough that qb isn't going to be what holds us back...and that is good enough for me.
Just crack that top 1/3, 1/4 and we will be fine.

Quinn..but he will be the starter of the 08 season without a doubt.
I don't see that happening. Why would you bench a QB that gets you to the playoffs. I know everyone thinks I am crazy for saying Frye will get us to the playoffs but benching a QB that gets you to the playoffs for one that will not have played a single down in a real game wouldn't be crazy it would be stupid.
Because he didn't get you to the Big One. Afterall, the ratbirds got rid of there Superbowl QB and San Diego fired the head coach after a damn good run at it.
The best player plays and starts -when he's ready. I think it's great we are in a position to bring Brady along correctly.
BTW I'm not impressed with Schaffer on the right side. He's either standing there watching guys blow by him or flat on his face Can't wait for Tucker to get back. All in all the OL is much improved as our QBs are having time to throw a lot more than in the past.

That's why I said "potentially".

I think he is simply saying that at some point a team has to determine if the coach is holding the team back and those are good examples that record isn't always the deciding factor.

I was enjoying the reading until I saw this...
Not to break anyones heart but WHEN Frye wins and gets us to the playoffs you may never see Quinn. We may never see a ridiculous post like this again either...it won't be Frye that gets the Browns to the playoffs..because they aren't going this year..
