Personally, I think that when Tucker gets back, Nat will be cut. I also think that when and if Bentley comes back Baxter is already back and we will be able to cut a db because Baxter is already on the roster, and we wouldn't need that extra db.
IMO Nat will be around longer than Butler.

Im suprised they brought in a TE from outside the organization. I figured if a TE got hurt they could call Krause to fill in. I even liked the little I saw from Ortega. I guess if Savage has been doing his homework on other teams he must of seen a better talent then the two TEs that got cut.

I doubt Nat gets cut. He has improved tremendously (from what I've heard) since last year. He's cut his weight and fat..... he worked out at PTI or whatever its called this off season. He can play left and right and he is smart.
Nat the fat? holy cow, he's improving? most of us just about had him written off. if that guy got his act together, to even be a good backup we got a steal in that trade. good backup tackles are hard to find.
We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.

I just saw that the Packers signed Krause to their PS.
I just assumed the guy wasn't eligible after we signed whats-his-name to our PS..
I find that very odd...Krause looked good to me.
I wonder if Ortega was also eligible but we passed.

Krause showed solid performance I thought. I hope we don't regret that one.
I think Minter had injury itis.
Baba should have made the roster... I don't understand that one at all.
Jereme Perry??? WTF? How many DB's and LB's do we need? Hamilton out performed Perry easily....
We keep 6 DL? Amoung those are Roye and Big Ted... Those other four are going to see alot of action this year. I love Roye and Big Ted but those bodies aren't what they used to be.

Thanks peen
Barclay is a personal favorite even before the kick return (besides that was some poor special teams by KC, 4th qtr of the 1st preseason game or not). I think it's likely he could see an NFL field soon, but not with CBS as home. Great numbers in Europe and his open field abilities should help him pack his bags. I hope I'm wrong.
Imho Jerome solidified his place in the offense, particularly since the concept of blocking appears to have sunk in. I've often wondered (without trying to check) if he was the feature in Wash State's offense. Based on his numbers, I've always figured so.
Josh has every opportunity to succeed with punt returns. Not much room for Chris, I'm afraid.

Walking around the same campus is probably a better way to put it.
His problem is he was frail.
Had he not been on the sideline with some sort of bruise, he might have been able to stick.

Just clicking and some responses to some posts.
1. Stabber - When Tucker comes back? well look to the Inactives come game day for the next 4 weeks. If there is a guy there all 4 weeks (besides a QB) look for him to be the one to go.
2. Hamilton wasn't eligible for the PS list. In RACs presser he said the Browns felt he could play in around 2-4 games and wanted to keep him but he (Hamilton) chose to go on the IR...so we put him on the Waived Injured list. He can go on the IR for us when nobody claims him. ??? I think thats how it works?
3. Baba...I know he got a following but honestly the kid just wasn't any good. Maybe for another defense. Many got misled by his 100% motor the kid never stopped but he did too much running around like a chicken with no head.
4. Minter...2 years he couldn't step on a field. He finally got his shot against 3rd n 4th stringers - and he played terrible...not mediocre but TERRIBLE.
5. Mixon...a rookie, somebody mentioned that we were deep in Corners...in the NFL you are never deep enough. The kid has potential, another that needs a year to mend his injuries and had the potential to get drafted if not injured. Special Teams for next year.
6. Louis...OL we had cut and had him in camp. We like his footwork a bit and his size 6'8 with a full year under our strength and conditioning...look for him to compete next year at RT. High upside and nothing to lose.
7. Harline...again a lot of potential odds are we will be set but we can always try to upgrade on Heiden if need be.
Note...Harline cut from the Colts are deep at TE talent he probably would have made most 53 man rosters.
Mixon the same thing. He was cut by the Bears who are deep at CB and return men.
Also another notation. This is the first time that I can remember since 99 that after cuts were made...we didn't go add somebody from another team to our 53 man roster.

Wht would he choose to go on the IR? That makes no sense. He has a sprained ankle. Would you prefer to sit the whole year for a sprained ankle, or get cut over it?

RAC called it Injured released.. so he's not on our IR,, basically, he's been released and can resign if I have that correct.

Just like me and D'Qwell. We knew each other from high school. I had talked with him 3 or 4 times while I was there. Since I transfered into the school, I came in during his senior year. We had fairly long convos but it wasn't anything I would expect him to remember. I ran into him last year though and he still knew me by name, I was pretty shocked.

Yeah, but seeing him on campus isn't the same. These are guys who saw him with the trainers once he was on the team. The guy basically had his knee scoped and missed a full season, then broke a foot. I can't substantiate it, but I heard he was taking his rehab lightly, and the team got tired of it.
What's the point though? He got cut. He's just not that good. I will bet a million dollars that he's washed out of the league by the end of this season.

I know exactly where he stands. My question was to Eo about the statements Romeo made. I'm not sure where the comments came from and have not heard them myself. I know Justin thinks he can be ready this weekend. There is no way he wanted to go on either IR or be waived.
I don't know how realistic Justin's beliefs about his status are. If Justin was not good enough to make the team, so be it.
I want clarification of Romeo's comments and want to put that against what I know. I am one who would almost always believed what Romeo and Savage have had to say. I hope this is just a case of misconstruding statements.
Do I want Hamilton back on the Browns? Without a doubt. I love the kid and his family and think he is a great kid with a lot of talent who can help us. If he is not good enough in the eyes of the coaching staff then I agree with their decision. We should not be keeping guys who are not good enough just because they are great kids. Justin will most likely find a home somewhere, for how long I have no idea. I will always be a fan of his and follow him wherever he goes. I will always be a Browns fan first and foremost.

True but it has nothing to do with Pdawgs comment... "Wht would he choose to go on the IR? That makes no sense. He has a sprained ankle. Would you prefer to sit the whole year for a sprained ankle, or get cut over it?"
I said in RAC's presser he stated that Hamilton chose to go on the IR from all the options they gave him. Why would he do that??? I don't know - maybe he thought he would be cut and then not be able to get job cause he's hobbling??? Who knows. Please listen to RAC's presser after the cuts and tell me if I heard that right or wrong? I know it sounded like an odd set of circumstances to me. RAC ain't the type to make something up.

I listened to what Romeo said and it is now as clear as mud. He think he is saying the option to be waived and go on IR was Justin's. He didn't really explain any other option. It did not sound like the way you described it to me.
I know for a fact that Justin thinks he will be able to play and had a second opinon on it today. What will happen is beyond me.
You can trust the word of Romeo all you want. I have a hard time trying to decipher what he is saying but it doesn't sound like the same as the way I heard it. I think I'll believe the people I know over someone I don't.

Jason Wright was a practice squad player along with...
Mike Adams Derek Anderson Darnell Dinkins Ethan Kelley Jereme Perry Shaun Smith
Those are the players on our roster that were once on practice squads around the league. None are great but all are role players.

That's usually the thing...a guy on your practice squad almost never makes an impact on your team.

Pdawg- I read that Hamilton had the option of being placed on IR to stick with the team, or being waived. He chose being waived thinking someone else would sign him. EDIT: Should have read your next post, looks like you read the same thing I did.

If I am not mistaken, Willie Parker with the steelers was a practice squad player. Quite a few O lineman are and eventually play - that position takes a while to develop. Wasn't Daven Holly on the practice squad?

"I think I'll believe the people I know over someone I don't."
Then I sure hope you can see my point of view...the people you know I don't even have an idea...Over the word of the HC - Its what I go on...again RAC seems to be on the up n up...sorry the word of a friend of a friend who heard from somebody who head from somebody just don't cut it with me...Would it with You???
As far as the way I described it...Hamilton chose the IR? that part I heard and repeated. But then you actually would have to admit I'm right about something...lol
