https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ex-ra...nnel-executive/Ex-Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie joins Dolphins front office as senior personnel executive McKenzie was fired in December after nearly seven years in Oakland It did not take Reggie McKenzie all that long to find himself a new job. The former Oakland Raiders general manager, who was fired in early December after nearly seven years with the team, has landed with the Miami Dolphins. According to a report from the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero, McKenzie will take on a senior role in the personnel department in Miami. Armando Salguero ✔ @ArmandoSalguero Former raiders GM Reggie McKenzie will be joining the Dolphins as a senior personnel executive. 546 3:54 PM - Feb 16, 2019 It was widely assumed that McKenzie was not long for Oakland after the Raiders handed Jon Gruden a 10-year, $100 million contract last offseason, and despite the duo publicly professing that they had a good relationship, that never appeared to be the case. After the team traded Khalil Mack to the Bears and Amari Cooper to the Cowboys and struggled to win games, McKenzie was fired in December. He has since been replaced by former NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock. Earlier in his tenure, McKenzie had widely been credited with a successful rebuild of the Raiders, tearing down a previously dreadful roster and using a ton of cap space and draft picks to land the core of a team that finished 12-4 in 2016. (McKenzie was named Executive of the Year following that season.) Derek Carr was injured down the stretch of that season, though, and the Raiders lost in the playoffs and have struggled ever since. Prior to joining the Raiders, McKenzie spent a long time with the Green Bay Packers, beginning his career as a scout and working his way up to director of football operations, where he worked under Ron Wolf and then Ted Thompson. His work there led to his getting the job in Oakland, and that overall body of work presumably led to his hiring in Miami, where he'll work in general manager Chris Grier's front office.

From the outside looking in, the Raiders became toxic for him. When they let Mack walk it seemed obvious that McKenzie was out of favor. The Cooper deal sealed it in my mind.

Fins look to be in serious rebuild mode, ala Browns 2016.

well, holy cow!!! you just cannot move on can you. I have lost track of the number of times you have said, in effect, hue is gone. Get over it and move on to different folks. Well, why don’t you take your own advice. sashi is gone, get over it and move on.

Take a hike. I'll talk about what I want. If you don't like it, put me on ignore. People take shots at Hue daily and you don't say a freaking word.

I appreciate your humor, but people are actually going to believe that. No one took more grief for not liking Farmer than I did.
He was Sashi---pre-Sashi. LOL

Wonder why they didn't hire the great Sashi Brown? Because he was responsible for the worst record in NFL history, just like the great Hue. That was one Huemongous run of incompetence. Neither will sniff anything close to the position they had with the Browns.

My bad, you really wanted Pettine then. Either way they were Idiot 1 and 2.
I'd argue that Banner was the real Sashi, but that's for another day.

Dude, I gave Pet plenty of grief. Just like I did w/Hue and most of our other coaches early on. I only come to their defense after all the guys who loved them when we hired them turn on them and vilify them.
Just like w/our current coaching staff. I think they're okay, but they have a lot of question marks and man, it could get really, really ugly if they don't meet expectations.
I'm already thinking of creative ways to defend guys that I don't think are all that in their respective roles.

I don’t care who takes shots at whom. It is the phony hypocrisy of telling people to let it go about hue while you interject sashi attacks frequently. You just don’t like being called out on it. Just take your own very good advice and let it go. and I’ll read whoever I want. Not gonna take a hike but I will walk 18 holes today.

Wonder why they didn't hire the great Sashi Brown? Perhaps there are many reasons. And probably none that you think it is. For starters, McKenzie was hired as the senior personnel executive. That's not what Sashi does. Also, the Sashi blueprint has been established and its easy to see and teams believe they can duplicate it without his help. And maybe Sashi doesn't want the job. I don't understand the badmouthing of Sashi, especially when you claim to come to Hue's aid when so many turned on him. Sashi seems to be doing fine without the NFL. But how will your boy Hue deal without it?

People are taking shots at Hue all the time and I let it go. I defended him when he was here, but he's gone. I've moved on. And frankly, you are the one displaying phony hypocrisy and you calling me out isn't going to change how I post. Sashi sucked! I don't care if you like that or not.

Sashi sucked for drafting Myles Garrett instead of Trubisky. Did he not want to win? Guess find a QB.

I love good sarcasm, but it has been reported that Sashi didn't want to draft Myles and Hue did.
I know the Wickersham article is really long, but you should read it. Seriously CHS, it's an excellent read.

I looked it up for you: Now there was debate between targeting Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett and North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky. Jackson wanted Garrett and one day made his case by taping pictures of Garrett on the glass walls in Haslam's office as a joke. But Jackson wasn't kidding when he later vowed to Haslam that he wouldn't support Trubisky, publicly or privately. The team ended up deciding in favor of Garrett but kept Jackson in the dark about it until shortly before the draft, for reasons unexplained to him. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25797...history-collide

You might have moved on from Hue, but you clearly haven't moved on from Sashi. You're the first one to mention him in a thread (again) but this time in a thread that has nothing to do about the Browns, but about another team completely.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I see one of the biggest leakers in Browns history was kept in the dark.

The thread I make about Sashi at Sloan will certainly be very interesting. It'll be his first public appearance and his panel will be hosted by Mina Times.

How was keith displaying phony hypocrisy? Probably because that is what he accused me of. Did you miss that? Look, I made an inane comment about Sashi. It upset some folks and they gotta go w/the personal attacks. Yet, similar comments are made about Hue all the time and those same folks don't say a word and some even "like" those posts. So, I think keith is wrongfully accusing me of "phony hypocrisy" and I defended myself.

Wonder why they didn't hire the great Sashi Brown? Now if posters made a why haven't anyone hired the great Hue Jackson you would be over them about agenda and all else and they should be posting football...yada yada.
Sorry I just couldn't believe you posted that after all the tirades about others doing just that. smh

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
