I see people arguing over universal healthcare...

Don't see a whole lot of people coming to the defense of this notion of leaving babies to die on the table...

That ship already sailed. We had that discussion. It was actually fairly productive at one point. But you know how it goes eventually.

The logic went something like this.......

When someone gets to the point that brain activity no longer functions, families are given the choice to pull the plug and end a life. That is a legal precedent that's already been established across the country.

Since it's an already established precedent, it seems logical that it established when life begins and ends to any productive quantity. If the scientific community can establish when such brain activity can be established with a fetus, it's an already legal standard to base life on.

Senate Democrats on Monday blocked a Republican bill that would have threatened prison time for doctors who don't try saving the life of infants born alive during abortions, leading conservatives to wonder openly whether Democrats were embracing "infanticide" to appeal to left-wing voters.

So you're having trouble comprehending that what I just proposed would solve all of that?

Do you support allowing a baby, already born thru a failed abortion to die on the table without treatment?

Do you support the Doctor later killing said baby?

If you can read my post you know the answer to your question. I clearly explained what I think the limit should be in regards to abortion under the current law.

They have already done that. Somewhere between weeks 14-16 a baby begins to move voluntarily and respond to stimuli.. the brain is working.

It's not a part of their body any more.. it's out. It's lying on the table, struggling for life...

And since it has already been established that families have the right to pull the plug on life support from a family member once brain activity ceases, that seems to be a precedent set on what constitutes life.

Roe vs Wade has been adjudicated and as of now abortion is legal. I certainly do not advocate late term abortions but we must have some type of realistic guideline by which the law can be followed unless or until such time as the law changes.
