This was one of the things that most endeared him to his more fervent supporters, despite all logical arguments to the contrary. "He's not a politician... that's what we like about him-"

It was all well and good during the campaign. Now, we get to see another iteration of the phrase: "Elections have consequences."

Here's a guy who not only ignores but resists/defies his Intel agencies, refuses to sit for briefings, and believes that he can 'freestyle' his way through important international diplomatic meetings.

What could go wrong?

You are right, I was one of them, I fully admit to it. The allure of an outsider, someone that hasn’t spent decades building relationships with what most Americans view as a very corrupt governmental system, especially with contrasted to Hilary was hard to ignore. Not arguing against any of the points you made because those chickens have come home to roost but the Dems are culpable in this. They rigged a primary and ran the worst candidate most young people have ever seen.

That is not to deflect my responsibility in this, but I fully believe we would have spent the entirety of the Clinton presidency waring via proxy with Russia. Even Trump looked good next to that pile.

Quoted for truth.

Run a fair, honest primary, and you & I aren't having this conversation. Either candidate would have won. DNC split their own ticket by suppressing Bernie supporters... some/most of whom would probably have held their noses and voted for HRC had things been on the up & up. I know that most of my HRC friends would have voted for Bernie had he won the nomination.

Like I've said many times over: I voted HRC with zero enthusiasm, because I couldn't dishonor my family history to vote for that other candidate. I'd have easily cast a vote for Bernie had he taken the nom.

This conversation expemplifies ignorance. It is the same reason educated people deny anthropogenic climate change.

What happened to you, what happened to Americans being smart?

I would have voted Hillary if not for that. But Bernie would have been the nominee, period.

We drew our personal lines in different places.
It happens.

You drew your line at HRC.
I drew my line at DJT.
