What really kills me is that many actually think their tax dollars pay for all these programs, and anybody using them are taking money from their pockets. Taxes are nothing more than a slavery mechanism in a capitalist fiat economy. That thought goes way over the heads of most.

Yet socialist programs like those in the New Deal helped us go from frontier country bumpkins to economic and military world super power... But socialism is bad and has failed everywhere you know?

He's about 21 years too late for me to care.

Back in 1998 at Youngstown State University where I was just a young Devil Pup there were several candidates for homecoming king. One of them was of middle eastern descent. One of his opponents did a little pre-photoshop and made a poster claiming candidate A was "endorsed by the Ayatollah". It was good for a chuckle and that was about it.

Of course this was the hey day of "sensitivity training". There was a controversy that raged for almost a month in the school paper, and after issuing a public apology which was so graciously accepted he had to take some kind of class.
