I don't like trading Zeitler anymore than some of you guys, but to get quality you have to pay for it and Garrett needed a legit sidekick, we could get Bosa so this is good IMO ...

Vernon is definitely a better pass rusher than Ogbah.

The swap of draft picks definitely helps this deal from our side. We move from 155 to 132, per NFL.com.

It's still not much. Moving 23 spots that late in the draft doesn't amount to much value.

Horrible value trade. Dorsey did not help this team

I think Ogbah adds a few pounds and moves inside on passing downs. Dorsey said he wanted to add "length" along the D-line, and that would add it inside. I don't think there's any way the Browns do this unless they believe Corbett is ready to step in at RG.

After reading more about Vernon's production over the past couple years I feel more comfortable about the trade, but I would have rather just given up picks for Vernon instead of one of our best players.

If Vernon's healthy, I like the trade. He had 8 sacks playing with a dinged ankle while Jenkins and Collins were their only good DBs and I'm not sure who the Giants 2nd best rusher would have been looking at the roster. Now he'll have other teams worried about Myles. Zeitler's a great guard, but the Chiefs made their run with Cam Erving starting. Pass rushers would seem to be more valuable.

So all this talk about Zeitler to the Giants was about Vernon, not Beckhma?

My guess is that there were talks about OBJ and it devolved into this. It's not uncommon.

Would not be shocked to see Ogbah part of a deal now, especially if we think Chad Thomas can make the same jump that we think Corbett can

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Corbett was really coming on at the end of training camp. He's a physical guard and was good as an extra OL'men late in the year. Even if he's half of Zeitler, I think Vernon's impact is much larger.

you had a good run Hank.

That is extreme hyperbole. I do not agree at all. Ogbah was an Average to below average player last season.

Ogbah has 12.5 sacks in 40 games played.

Vernon had 7 sacks in 11 games last season and played hurt the entire year.

Plenty freaked when Dorsey traded Carlos last year and Chubb stepped up and played lights out. They feel Corbett is ready. Maybe he is. I feel Olivier is a huge upgrade to Ogbah.
I laugh Everytime Throwlong posts on a trade or draft pick. The moves Dorsey made last year got us a 7-8-1 season but the way Throw talks we NEVER learn and won just a game or so. I call that bull !!

Anyway...get ya drinks ready because the Isle is making reservations. First thousand gets a free Dawgpound huggy.

I didn't bring into the equation the fact that Vernon faced left tackles, not right tackles.

They better hope so because Ziet did a decent job here.

The Giants pass rush was Vernon .... and guys. Vernon had 7 sacks last year. The next guys? BJ Hill with 5, and Lorenzo Carter with 4. The next most proficient pass rusher had 2 sacks, and the Giants as a team had a whopping 30 sacks. He also had 21 QB Hits. That was more than twice as many as any other player on the team according to ESPN.

I think he could have a big year next season.

Decent doesn't do it justice, in the second half of last season he was an absolute monster. A flat out beast in every aspect of his game.

No question we are going to miss Zeitler even if Corbet is good, the likelihood he will be close to Zeitler is extremely small.
