Sounds like Browns are bowing out from Mosley. Down to Jets and Baltimore.

My bet is that if it was reasonable, we would be in on him. It was never going to be reasonable. It sounds like he'll end up back in Baltimore.

It never hurts to add fuel to the fire when there are other fires burning in the camp of the enemy ... It will cost the other teams bidding on him moreso.

Last year we signed Chris Hubbard to a 5 year deal worth $37.5 million, with $18 million guaranteed.

This year we signed Greg Robinson to a 1 year deal worth up to maybe $9 million.

The Broncos agreed to a 5 year deal with Ja'Waun James from the Broncos, a solid RT, and his deal is worth $52 million and $32 million in guarantees.

Center Mitch Morse got a 4 year deal worth $44.5 million, with $26.5 million guaranteed.

Trent Brown, an average type LT, got 4 years, $66 million, and $36.75 million fully guaranteed.

Glad we got Robinson under contract before the insanity started. (even though he could wind up being the backup)

STUPID contracts Day 1.

Higher than Tag numbers.

Just dumb.

I think Dorsey and Crew saw this coming, hence the Vernon trade versus the expected costs of the Free Agents.

We're in great hands, Dawg.

Funny how the "need to be all in" & "the time is now" when it comes to FA vanishes up like a fart in the wind.

Browns still in the mix for WR Tyrell Williams, source says
Updated 6:12 AM; Today 11:16 PM

By Mary Kay Cabot, cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns are still in the mix for Chargers free agent receiver Tyrell Williams, a league source told cleveland.com.

Williams, 27, captured the Browns attention, in part, with his performance in the Chargers’ 38-14 victory over the Browns on Oct. 14.

He caught only three passes that day, but they all loomed large in the victory. Two were for touchdowns — of 45 and 29 yards — and the third was a 44-yarder that set up the longer TD. It was on of his two 100-yard games in 2018, and one of his seven overall in four seasons.

Williams would step in as a starter and also give the Browns a tall, speedy receiver to replace Breshad Perriman if he signs elsewhere. He’s 6-4, 205 and ran a 4.42 coming out of college.

Signed by the Chargers as an undrafted rookie out of Division II Western Oregon in 2015, he’d be another deep threat for the Browns, who can go deep early and often with Baker Mayfield.

Williams caught only two passes as a rookie, but had his breakout season in 2016 when Keenan Allen was out with a torn ACL. Williams caught 69 passes for 1,059 yards and 7 TDs that year, and then dropped back into the 40s in each of the next two seasons with Allen back healthy. He had 728 yards and 4 TDs in 2017 and 653 yards and 5 TDs in 2018, again with two of those coming against the Browns.

But Williams believes he’s demonstrated he can be a true No.1 receiver.

Spotrac.com estimates his market value at three years, $28.981 million, or about $9.6 million a year. Some estimate he’ll average more than $12 million a year.

Vikings agreed to terms with DT Shamar Stephen, formerly of the Seahawks, on a three-year contract.

Stephen spent the first four years of his career in Minnesota after being a 2014 seventh-round pick. He signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks last offseason but is now coming back to rejoin the Vikings. Stephen was in on 538 snaps last year but made minimal impact. He's a rotational piece.

Jets agreed to terms with WR Josh Bellamy, formerly of the Bears.

30 in May, Bellamy caught 15 balls for 151 yards and one touchdown last season as the Bears' No. 4 wideout. He's not an impact offensive player and should stick mainly to running down punts and kickoffs for the Jets.

Yep, gotta guess Williams is in the 10-12m/yr range and Mosely 11-13/yr range. Though with the deals we're seeing already, those might be low.

Couldn't hyave been much more wrong on Mosely. WTH are the jets doing offering a MLB 17m/year? He's now the highest paid by a wide, wide margin (like 20%). In other news the Jets signed a backup waterboy to a 3 year 30m deal.

Wouldn't mind Darron Lee on the cheap now. Wow, that's a pricy couple LBs on the Jets.

Garrett - Ogunjobi - Richardson - Vernon

backed up by Ogunjobi, Avery, a rookie DT, and another DE is GOOD

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

LE'VEON BELL
RB, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT

Appearing on SportsCenter, ESPN's Chris Mortensen said he's "heard" the 49ers could potentially pursue free agent Le'Veon Bell.

The Jets remain the clear favorites to land Bell, and their competition to sign him doesn't seem stiff. San Francisco and Oakland have been rumored as potential Bell suitors, but Le'Veon is a questionable fit for Kyle Shanahan's outside-zone scheme, and Oakland is believed to be strapped for cash after committing so much money to LT Trent Brown and WR Antonio Brown. Mort's nugget is notable, but it's still hard to imagine Bell ending up a 49er.

Ya’all are gonna love this one ... *L*

JOSH GORDON
WR, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Patriots assigned an original-round tender to restricted free agent Josh Gordon.
The tender will pay him $2.025 million assuming he is able to get reinstated. Because he entered the league as a second-round pick, that is what teams will have to give up in order to sign him away. In other words, he will be a Patriot if he is able to play this season.
