Wow Surprised I thought he was going to test the market?

That's a nice contract for him... he came on in the 2nd half of last year and looked pretty good.. give him a pretty modest 1 year deal to prove that wasn't a fluke..

Well, it's Day 2, so I'm guessing he did.

Looks like he's betting on himself, much like Greg Robinson.

Good deal. Glad he's back and will continue to be motivated.

Based on 2018 that's a good deal for the Browns. You compare him to what Funchess just got ... we got a steal. I actually think Funchess will do well with a more accurate QB throwing him the ball - but still...

Guessing his options were:

1. Sign a pretty modest 3 year deal somewhere and get locked in..

or....

2. Resign here on a 1 year deal, hope to ball next year and THEN go for the significantly larger longer term deal..

He is betting on himself (and on Baker)..

Not a bad deal, with the contracts handed out I thought it was going to be 6 mill or so. Least we have depth there

Good news! If he can build on his turn-around last year, we have a very potent player. At 6'2", 211...and a 4.25 40...He's everything you'd want if he continues CATCHING the ball. He averaged 21 yds a catch in his limited play last year! Hope he gets in some work with Baker and the crew this summer.

And going from $892,000 to $4,00,000 a year isn't too shabby.

I am quite pleased with this. Robinson and Perriman on one year deals that mean nothing bad can happen.

Seriously though, if spotrac is correct, Robinson's deal is all of 500k if he doesn't make the final roster. smile Now this. Dorsey is pretty brutal with his contracts it seems.

I wonder how much Tyrell Williams is asking?

We were supposedly in on Mosley and Williams. Mosley got about 4 million a year more than I would have paid smile

A 30% increase on Williams 10 million would mean his agent is looking for 13 million a year (just speculation on my part).

Perriman on a 1-year 4 million dollar, "play it again, Sam" agreement is pretty nice.

And of course this keeps us 4 deep at WR... C'mon, Devin White, come to Cleveland.

After Day 1 of "Pre-Free Agency" (things don't actually start until tomorrow at 4pm), half the money in the league has been blown, we've quietly resigned ours while adding strengths at reasonable rates, and are probably sitting pretty with the most actually available cap space in the league now.

We now have great depth at our WR core...Our main one two punch is Landry and Higgins...Wonder if we plan on making a big splash in the draft there...or is it fine the way it is? Do you guys think we are done building our WR core? (I'm thinking we may be done in FA...well WR wise)

Glad to see him back. Hopefully Higgins signs his tender, and we get the band back together.

A year ago, on his first sign day thread, ehh most responses were, he's a whatever ya wanna call it, it's not going to work out.

I said, ehh, I think this is a good guy, he's going to benefit from the change, I could see him work out and last here a little while.

I was parroted by no one, iirc. (but I'm the insane one)

oh well, start to year number 2, who knows what'll work out.

(Also claim to have the earliest post spouting Baker and Ward at 1 and 4
just a quick thought I had posted in late December of 17)

Hey the offensive coord, sticks around, the O side free agents stay.
The Deffensive coord, is replaced, the D side free agents change for new guys also.

I love this deal but this may mean we'll have to pay through the nose for him next year. I think he's going to perform well in an Air Raid offense.

There are already reports of Monken getting Kitchens and staff up to speed on his offense. I am sure we'll adapt it some but we are going to have an Air Raid QB in an Air Raid offense.

I disagree.

Tampa didn't have Chubb.

We will NOT RUN an Air it Out Offense.

Air Raid is the system. We didn't sign an Air Raid coach for no reason. Run/Pass ratio might be a different story, but that doesn't change what the offensive system is. We also have Hunt and for at least a little while, Duke Johnson and they will thrive in an Air Raid offense.

Also, if you want to run a lot of vertical routes, a hard hitting thumper of an RB like Chubb is exactly what you want on running downs. It's hard for opposing teams to put extra guys in the box against Chubb when any given play could be a bomb.

Dorsey comes through again! For the cash being thrown around, this is a steal.

I wonder what he counts against the cap if he is traded? LOL

Plus... Perriman can still back out at any point and sign with another team now that we have OBJ.
