It won't be released for a while, but I saw that games are starting to leak out for next year

Opening Thursday game: Bears at Packers
Thanksgiving Day games: Bears at Lions, Dolphins at Cowboys, Eagles at Vikings

I really hate those stupid "games abroad".

It really penalizes a team that loses a home game to a foreign game.

I think that they should give any team that has to play a home game abroad a tie breaker advantage for the playoffs. In other words, if team A and team B tie for a playoff spot, or seed, if team A played a home game in a foreign country, they should win the 1st tiebreaker.

Yep. Their schedule is much harder. If they tie with another team recordwise, they should get the playoff spot.

What if the Browns held the tie-breaker against another team, but sat at home watching the postseason because that other team happened to play a game in London? That would suck pretty bad.

It's hard to knock a deserving team out of the playoffs and I think the current tie-breakers are pretty fair. What if the team that played a game in London was guaranteed their first playoff game would be at home that season? That way, at least the London game can't remove a team from the playoffs.

I agree ... thanksgiving games should be somewhat "in the elements" IMO, or at least the chance to be bad weather

It'd be nice to see Chicago host, or Cleveland, Green Bay, etc

A team playing a 'home" game in London, for example, has a huge disadvantage that season. Teams only get 8 home games, so to lose one of them hurts a team a great deal.

Yes, I think that it 2 teams tie for a playoff spot, them the team that only had 7 home games should get the spot. I think it is a bigger disadvantage than SOS, or almost any other playoff seeding factor.

It's unfair to the team that only has seven "true" home games.

What were the final records of the teams that have a home game transferred to London?

let's revisit this ... it would appear that we'll be a fairly popular team to talk about this season.

People all over Twitter saying we will have multiple primetime games and 4:25 window games

I'd like to think this will hold true.

My guess?

- We play MNF twice (at NYJ and vs BAL)
- We play SNF once (at NE)
- We host TNF (vs BUF)
- We play at 4:25 four times (at AZ, at SF, at DEN, vs LAR)

The NFL on Tuesday released its 2019 preseason schedule, and it includes good news for those wearing brown and orange.

The NFL's most passionate fan base will have an opportunity to see their team's first live action of 2019 in person when the Browns open at home against the Washington Redskins.

Below is how the Browns' four-game schedule will stand. Home games at FirstEnergy Stadium are listed in CAPS.

Week 1 (August 8-12): vs. WASHINGTON

Week 2 (August 15-19): at Indianapolis

Week 3 (August 22-26): at Tampa Bay

Week 4 (August 29-September 1): vs. DETROIT

When is the regular season announced?

It’s usually the week before the draft. So sometime next week most likely.

So does this mean Dorsey/Kitchens can start scheduling the joint practices with the Colts now?

Sister in law and the kids live there, haven't seen them in a while, tickets are cheap, 3rd game is the one to go to of all preseason games.. daughter will already be out of town on a church trip.... going to have to think on this one.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts today confirmed that they will be hosting the Cleveland Browns for multiple joint training camp practices at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Ind., prior to the two teams' Game 2 preseason matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The dates and times of those practices — and the preseason game in Indy — will be released at a later date. Colts owner Jim Irsay said last month that, like all Colts' training camp practices, the joint sessions with the Browns will be free and open to the public.

On March 25, the two teams confirmed that there were, indeed, plans for joint practices in Westfield, but they were waiting until the release of the NFL's 2019 preseason schedule before they could confirm. The Colts today announced their four-game preseason opponents: at the Buffalo Bills, vs. the Browns, vs. the Chicago Bears and at the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fans in attendance at Grand Park will be treated to two of the more exciting, young rosters entering the 2019 season when the Browns come to town.

The Colts, of course, won nine of their final 10 regular season games to finish 10-6 and earn their first playoff berth in four seasons; they went on the road to defeat the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round before falling to the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round. Quarterback Andrew Luck earned NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors, while the team had two rookies — linebacker Darius Leonard and guard Quenton Nelson — named First-Team All-Pro; Leonard was also voted as the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year.

The Browns, meanwhile, had a resurgent season in 2018. Led by rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield, the No. 1-overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Cleveland finished 7-8-1 on the season — its best performance since 2007. The Browns have been the talk of the NFL this offseason after acquiring wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and pass rusher Olivier Vernon in a trade with the New York Giants, as well as signing defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson.

The planned second preseason game to follow the joint practices, meanwhile, should feature both teams' starting units battling it out for about two quarters of action.

The Colts last year had their first opportunity to work out the logistics of hosting a team for training camp practices in Westfield when the Ravens came to town for two days leading up to their Week 2 preseason matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Thousands of fans were on hand both days to watch on as the two teams battled through various drills and scrimmages. Two skirmishes broke out between the teams on the second day, though both were quickly resolved.

This will be the seventh time the Colts have participated in joint practices with another team; previous joint practices were with the Ravens (2018), Detroit Lions (2017), Chicago Bears (2015), Tennessee Titans (2000) and St. Louis Rams (1997, ’99), according to Colts Communications.

Face it, people aren't really excited about outdoor games come late November if played up north. That is also a prime game for fans to travel to follow their team. Most folks are less inclined to travel to see a game outdoors in Minnesota.

Just think, if we had a dome, we might host a Thanksgiving game too.

People claim football was meant to be a winter sport. It wasn't. Seasons ended in mid November in the college game and NFL championships were played in maybe the 2nd week of December.

Also, why are all of the traditional bowl games played in places like Miami, New Orleans, and Pasadena?

I know the reason, and so do you. Not many want to go watch a football game in 17° temps.

And it's hot as Blazes in Tampa in August. I have been to many games in Tampa because my folks retired there and my brother still lives there. I still hold Gator season tickets thought I don't go to many games anymore. My seatmate and best friend buys mine for business purposes. I might go to a game a year.

I remember when I had season tickets. You would always hope for game 3 to be at home. Followed by game 2. Game 4 was the worst and game 1 was second worst.

The NFL routinely screws over Brown's season ticket holders.

I agree that's how it is "now". November and December aren't what anyone would call good months for weather in the north. But when football first became a sport and well into the 70's many people didn't really care about the weather much. When football first became a sport it was the mid west where it had its roots.

Now it's all about big money, attendance and profit that draws in the most ratings. So the complexion of the intent has changed. In the 60's and even the 70's nobody really cared about the field conditions or the weather. But the huge increase in franchise costs, player contracts and ticket prices have created an environment that has made it critical to create high scoring games and a great environment for the game to be played in. Even the rules have been slanted to create high scoring games while putting defenses at a disadvantage.

Football was intended to be a sport. It is now an entertainment business. Football today is nothing close to what it was meant to be.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Rutgers and Princeton played the first football game in 1869. The roots would be in the east.

The pro game is rooted more towards the Midwest in western PA. Then when it really started to catch on, Canton had the team in the day, and the rest is history.

I understand, but that was also before engineering figured out how to put a roof over a football field and control the climate inside. People didn't care about the weather and conditions because there was nothing that could be done.

Today conditions and climate inside the stadium can be controlled.

You know me. I go to games. We have toasted beers at 4-5 games over the years. Maybe a few more. I don't let weather scare me off, so I am not a mamsie pamsie type fan. The only concession to weather I made was moving in to the club section from my other seats maybe 5-6 seasons ago. I decided I wanted a place to gain some warmth that wasn't in the men's room. The restrooms were the only heated places in the stadium not in a club section. I also enjoy the cooling during the brief warm weather games in Cleveland.

So uh, all thanksgiving games will be lousy again, because it's so NFC focused, again, I'll try to get excited but it doesn't come naturally.
40 years of tradition can't make me care about Chicago, Detroit, or dallas. blah! I only consider those teams if they are going deep into the playoffs.

So, from my perspective, once again, the NFL, just doesn't get it.

Oh they don't care about the Midwest, nobody does.

LOl….actually. Ohio could be considered east when looking at that map.

I guess it is considered Midwest because it was largely settled during the second migration west.

I never understood why they didn't update the naming of the regions and rename states like Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, etc as MidEastern states. They simply stuck w/what was.

But, those states are considered "midwestern states."

Here is another thing. People complain about schools not teaching cursive and spelling anymore, but they don't teach geography either.

Teaching cursive is a waste of time due to computers. You can teach spelling while teaching vocabulary and word study [Greek and Latin roots and affixes.]

I think Geography is fairly important. If it were me, I would have Geography as a course and break it down into three subsets: Economics, Culture, and Politics of each region. You could highlight the area's location, topography, climate, etc while also talking about the Big 3 that covers what is now called Social Studies.

I agree. If looking at a map, Tennessee could be a midwestern state. It was starting to be settled as people crossed the Appalachians in the move west.....and that was early on.

The battle of Kings Mountain turned the Revolutionary War. A bunch of soon to be Tennesseans kicked Freguson butt. It was fought in S Carolina, but it was a bunch of Tennessee frontiersmen who came east to climb the mountain and and get it done.

Tennessee was a wild place then, and still has a wild eyed side.

I love Tennessee. I had many chances to move for promotion but decided to stay here. It's a great place to live.

I like Tennessee. It's beautiful. I always placed it in the South East. But, I can see your point. I think Kentucky and Missouri are the two tricky ones.

I do wish they would add a MidEastern label though.

My family and I will be in Nashville this weekend for a long weekend for a wedding reception.

Always a great city and fun time. Quite the restaurant scene now as well.

Looking forward to our time there.

Yeah, Nashville is cool. I have been there three times.

The first time was for a consultation w/Dr. James Netterville at Vanderbilt for a tumor I had in my neck. As many of you know, it was on my carotid artery and there are not many locations in the country that perform that surgery. I chose the best in Dr. Nettervile. My wife and and I went there and spent 2 fabulous days of enjoying the music, sights, and nuances of Nashville. We had a great time. The city is so vibrant.

My second visit was the surgery. We knew I might not make it and we went crazy the night before. We went to this great eatery and spent a ton of money. It was worth it. Btw...........Nashville has some excellent eating establishments.

I went to the third visit alone. I was fine. It was just a follow-up so Dr. Netterville could clear me up to go back to work. That is the time I met Pit. He met me at my hotel and we went to a place down the street to eat. Had a great time. Well, at least I did. Pit is a good dude. We used to fight all the time on here. Now, we're friends. I think that is because we met and understood one another. Later that night, I went down to the hotel bar and the freaking music was insane. Yeah, in a hotel bar. There were so many great acts. The place was jumping. I ended up hitting other clubs by myself and I can say that Nashville is one exciting, vibrant city. Great place to visit. I would love to go back, just under different circumstances.

That would be a good team for us to open with. We need to win early. We can beat the Jets even if we are not at our best. Of course, if we lose to them.......

Hell, I don't know. LOL
