Mine?

Nickel Corner - Bryce Callahan
RT - Kendall Lamm
LB - K.J. Wright
Safety - Eric Berry
Kicker - Gostkowski

I'd really like a guy that could line up at right corner, but that guy isn't out there.

Who else are others hoping for?

Bryce Callahan and Tre Boston. That's it. If we signed a kicker that would be great, but I don't think it's necessary.

You know at first I thought a Kicker was necessary...But is Joseph really all that bad ? Honestly he was a rookie and can he improve if given a chance ?

This was his rookie stats....

FGA: 20 FGM: 17 PCT: 85 LNG: 51

I understand they weren't the prettiest when made..But missing 3 doesn't seem so bad as a rookie coming in with all the pressure to make them.

After all people are cheering for Baker..then he has to come in and hit one for 40 +

I would hope that another season would help him calm down and be a better kicker.

I would prefer not to sign anymore FA's and start looking more towards using the draft to fill some needs...jmo

Zach Brown. I think that a really fast LB would help this defense a great deal.

Other than that? Depth.

I hope we look for another DT and CB in the draft. Maybe we'll look for another S as well. I like the idea of moving Kindred into the starting lineup.

I don't trust Greg Joseph to make any extra points or field goals for that matter. Dude missed so many XP it was freaking insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any chance he improves ? It seems a few others had missed critical PAT's last season...One being a former Brown.

I don't either, but we will sign somebody. Joseph needs some breaks during camp.

I think people mix up a few Joseph flubs and include Zane flubs.

A kicker hits his stride when he knows the coaching staff has confidence in him and isn't going to cut him if he misses a few kicks he probably should have made.

I have been on this board a long time. I remember many posters saying Dawson had a weak leg, missed kicks, and we needed a new kicker.

Turns out he didn't have a weak leg and we didn't need a new kicker. We simply needed to wait for the kicker he was to show up.

Kicker seems like a simple position to fill....lol

Every play is a pressure play.....some uber pressure filled.

The snapper, holder, and kicker are clutch performers on EVERY play. It takes all three to get it right. The kicker is usually blamed unless the snapper bounces it or high's it to the holder, or the holder lays it down sideways. It doesn't have to be that bad to give a kicker a greatly reduced chance.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Josh Sitton as a back up guard...

KJ Wright as our strong side LB...

Adrian Phillips as our SS...plays FS, nickel and dime too...oh yeah and special teams

Then get ready for the draft! Where we can take the best player available and shore up depth and special teams.

At this point, Gostkowski would be great.

I'd bring in KJ Wright and Eric Berry on one or two year deals just due to the numbers they're going to command and taking into consideration our cap space.

Although I heard he was staying put, might have been a rumor of a rumor.

Berry would be great.

"If" it is proven he is healthy. He has a kind of bone spur that is attached to achilles heel.

He is a great player. But the Chief's cut him to sign Honey Badger.

Bonefish this is why sometimes passing on a FA and hitting the draft may be more fruitful in the long run.

We have Kindred. GW always liked Kindred. The draft may well be the way to go.

We should be able to get a good safety in the second round.

Browns' Greg Joseph: Misses field goal in finale
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Joseph missed a field goal while converting all three of his extra points during Sunday's 26-24 finale loss to the Ravens.

Joseph -- who was added to the roster ahead of Week 3 -- showed some promise in his rookie season with the Browns, hitting 17 of 20 field goals and 25 of 29 PATs. Cleveland may be on the prowl this offseason for a kicker with more experience, but it's not unreasonable to assume Joseph will be back with the team in 2019.

I am not saying that Joseph won't improve and be a good K some day but he isn't good right now. I won't say bad but no better than average. I would hate to lose a playoff game because we skimped on our K.

Lots of young qbs have emerged, over the last 18 months of Nfl, Trubisky, to Foles, Foles won the Super bowl, from a backup role.
Mayfield, all the draft pics last year, lots of young qb's and even good vets like Luck getting healthy..

It means?

There's going to be a run on db's in the draft, lots and lots of them, way before the 2nd round too,

I wouldn't be surprised to see 12-14 dbs go in the top 40 picks, I woulda said this 2 weeks ago.

And Jabrill Peppers, was a momentum changer last year for the Browns, see the 2nd part of the opening day tie, and other times, wasn't "best" to see him go, but
no worries.

I wouldn't count on any Db's not getting snatched up right before you plan on grabbing them.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Yeah I agree. I get nervous thinking about him needing to hit a big one when we make the playoffs next season.

But as others state, kickers need some time. Kicking field goals at the NFL level must be stressful when you're a rookie. Lots of pressure.

We need to bring in a decent kicker to compete at training camp..... as someone else said... I'd hate to lose a playoff game due to a kicker...

We could have been in the playoffs except for kickers doing the doink and wide left.

This should not be such a hard thing. Yet we make it a hard thing.

Gather them all up, test them, and pick the best regarding range and experience.

He got hurt last year and didn’t finish the year in the desert ....

I'd like to explore kicking options and LB options

I think we'll try to get secondary in the draft, where Dorsey excels and it's way cheaper

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Why are we worried about Kickers? I don't think we'll be settling for FGs all that often, and the numbers bear out that going for 2 statistically nets more points after TDs (I'm guessing even moreso with our skill players now.)

I'm serious (not serious.) Maybe a little bit.

I wouldn't pay above-average money for a kicker. If we can upgrade on the cheap, okay.

I'm only really looking for depth and core special teamers on team-friendly contracts the rest of FA. Strong safeties are fairly short-lived, so I'm not sure FA is the place to get them. Kindred should be good for this season. Draft a potential upgrade.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

You guys talk about the stress kickers go through, but what about the stress Deputydawg goes through when we are lining up a FG with the game on the line. My heart can't take it! Nor can my liver take the amount of Yuengling Lagers it takes for me to console myself after said kick bounces off said goal post.

Get a Kicker for my sake please!

j/c:

I just wrote the following in another FA thread, but it might fit better here. I'm so confused....

Quote:

We might be done in free agency and I would be perfectly fine w/that. If we do go after anyone else, here are the guys I would consider.

Eric Berry, former safety for KC. He was a great player. Had a huge year after beating cancer. Has been injured a lot since then. If he is healthy, he would be a huge addition. That's basically it because I don't think he will be too expensive. It's just about his health.

Bryce Callahan, former CB for Bears. He's 27 and has good numbers playing against slot receivers. According to PFF, opposing qbs struggled against Callahan when they targeted him.

I think we still need help in the secondary and these are two guys that may help us w/out being overly expensive.
