I've been hearing that Barack and Big Mike were in on getting charges dropped on Jussie.I wonder if they would have done that for me?
Rubbish. Where you been hearing it? Fox, Trump? Trailer Park? How about a link?
Chicago police union calls for federal probe into 'highly, highly suspicious' conduct of prosecutor who 'intervened in the Jussie Smollett case on behalf of Michelle Obama's ex-aide and texted the Empire star's family'
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

Some are scared of journalists and other reporters who actually tell the truth. That's why they banned pulitzer prize winner and journalist Glenn Greenwald from their network. Anyone who is fighting to discover the truth, has a different opinion from theirs, or does not share their narrative, they are banned. Greenwald is the one of the only reporters in the past 10 years who is honest. See below:

'Chicago says the city will file civil lawsuit against actor Jussie Smollett after he refuses to pay for investigation costs into his alleged staged attack'
The question still remains, why did they drop the case? Where’s the collaborative evidence. What happened to the two other guys involved? Are their names in the law suit?
I said this at the beginning, This isn’t going to end well. The public deserves to see the evidence and hear the complete story. But as usual the police and the existing government culture, love to hide and cover their mistakes. trump has emboldened local governments and law enforcement to overstep their boundaries. Tsk tsk

“After reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr Smollett’s volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the city of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition and appropriate resolution to this case,” Cook county state’s attorney’s office said.
People quickly noticed that prosecutors had not actually cleared Smollett of wrongdoing. In fact Joe Magats, first assistant state’s attorney, said: “We believe [Smollett] did what he was charged with doing.”

The proceedings are sealed. I'm not sure what can be made public, or even used in the civil trial.

The police were pizzed that the evidence was sealed. This is all on the prosecutor's office.

It's Trump's fault. You didn't mention that Michelle Obama's former chief of staff called the prosecutor on Smollett's behalf, forcing her to recuse herself after people found out about it. Using your connect the dots logic, MO is just as culpable as Trump.

So You’re saying Michelle had a role in getting the Chicago PD to drop the case?.
I’m saying the CPD screwed the pooch and had to. Then sealed all the evidence so the public would never know what really happened. Maybe a court case or a law suit will shed some light.

No, I'm saying that's just as ridiculous as blaming Trump.

Again, the police aren't the one's who sealed the case...they're upset that it was sealed. The prosecutors are the ones that agreed to it.
From the Chicago Tribune, "The unusual move allowed Smollett’s attorneys to get his criminal case immediately sealed, catching Chicago police brass by surprise and bringing swift condemnation from Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who called it a "whitewash of justice."
The only one covering things up are the prosecutor's office and Smollett's attorneys, and even the prosecutor's office say that he's guilty of what he was charged with...they just unexpectedly dropped the charges for the lame ass reason given in the previous post.
As much as you want to believe it, Smollett is not an innocent victim in this.

Chicago prosecutor Kim Foxx subpoenaed over Jussie Smollett case: report
Chicago’s top prosecutor, Kim Foxx, has been subpoenaed Friday over her handling of the Jussie Smollett case, according to The Chicago-Sun Times.
Foxx, Cook County’s state’s attorney, will have to appear in court after a retired appellate judge, Sheila O’Brien, filed a petition last week for a special prosecutor to probe the Smollett case, in which a 16-count indictment against the “Empire” actor was dropped last month.
Foxx’s top deputy, Joseph Magats, was also subpoenaed, and another document requested that Smollett appear at the hearing, the report said.
O’Brien requested Foxx, Magats, and Smollett produce original documents in the criminal case to assure the public “that they have not been altered or destroyed and will not be destroyed throughout this case,” the Sun-Times reports.
The petition for a special prosecutor claimed Foxx’s handling of the case was “plagued with irregularity.”
O’Brien argues that Foxx, who informally recused herself from the case due to contact she had with a relative of Smollett’s during the investigation, should have appointed a special prosecutor.
“Foxx’s conflict in this matter is beyond dispute,” O’Brien wrote, “instead, Foxx misled the public into believing that Smollett’s case was handled like any other prosecution and without influence.”
Smollett told police he was attacked on Jan. 29 around 2 a.m. as he was returning home from a sandwich shop in Chicago. He said two masked men shouted racial and anti-gay slurs, poured bleach on him, beat him and tied a rope around his neck. He claimed they shouted, “This is MAGA country” — a reference to President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” campaign slogan.
After an intense investigation, police said Smollett staged the entire incident to drum up publicity for his career.
