what did you expect? half the conservatives in this country are too ignorant to even point to the US on a map, let alone mexico and the surrounding countries.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
i am proud. anybody who works for fox news can shove it.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Interns should have a basic knowledge of the world they live in. This is either a giant Freudian slip, an uneducated individual, inherent racial bias, or a mix of all of them.
right, tusla out here trying to make excuses for the fact that there are no 3 "mexican" countries.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Congrats, you two are picking on some poor intern that typed something incorretly. You should be proud.
Can we also pick on the talking heads for simply reading the TelePrompTer without catching such an obvious faux-pas?
Can we also pick on the viewers who take this stuff in without so much as a single questioning thought? Viewers who presumably graduated from high school with at least a rudimentary knowledge/understanding of the major countries in their own hemisphere?
Dang, T: is there no place where the line should be drawn? I mean, first it's interns. Then, it's highly-paid on-screen suits. Then it's viewers with low to no standards regarding the nutritional value of the stuff they pump into their heads. Are NONE of these people to take responsibility?
IMO, this isn't just about some sleep-deprived intern at a keyboard. There is supposed to be an entire infrastructure that catches junk like this, so that the institution's word is still worth something. The crew that Rocket and Swish are dragging are guilty of this on the reg.
This just smacks of low standards on the part of everyone: from research to copy to editing to production to on-air... and yes- to the consumer who willingly (sometimes eagerly) swallows this swill without even once considering it might be laced with filler, by-products and just plain poisonous junk.
As I cast blame in several directions, I believe this to be true: In this depressing little episode, no one should be proud.
But the o.p. posted simply because it was FOX, and Trump was involved in some manner. (he also doesn't read the dates of some things he posts...........but then tries the "well, it showed up in my news feed....") The libs eat that up. Every day, all day.
A better question would be why do we provide aid to these countries in the first place? If I were president that would have ended a LONG time ago. That's another country, there problems are their own responsibilities. Wasteful spending on our part. They should be grateful for what they've gotten.
Professionals should never allow amateurs to easily see/call out their mistakes.
I've spent 40+ years in the public eye, making sure that you don't ever see/hear the mistakes I/we make. If I play a musical version of what we're discussing in this thread... I'm in front of a panel of PEERS who actually have a say in whether I remain employed. That's what 'Professional Accountability' looks like.
Yes, son... we musicians are actually that hardass. 24/7. For 35+ years, in my case.
So please understand why I expect these others (in their respective professions) to clear the same bar that's required of me, since I'm supposed to rely on them to inform me about the world I inhabit.
It's not just 'a mistake." And we shouldn't expect ourselves to 'get over it.'
That attitude/low standard is exactly what led to the screen grab that Rocket Optimist used to start this thread.
Someone other than Rocket could just as easily found their own version of this with an MSNBC watermark at the bottom of the screen grab.
Which is really my point, Tulsa.
We deserve to see better than this in our daily infofeeds- no matter what side of The Divide we occupy... ...because details actually matter.
Right now, we're having an alien invasion on my games for april fools.
It's a bit silly and some of the users will hate it.
But it doesn't matter. Because they will still be addicted to my games on April 2nd.
So we party. And I don't care who trashes me.
I also don't really care when Fox or CNN says something stupid. Because it's par for the course from both sides, and I'm quite certain they state false things occassionally ON PURPOSE to mislead the stupid people.

Just sayin', Clem
Since I worked in live TV, I'm making an educated guess this was an intern. Interns volunteer at stations like this all over the country to gain valuable experience for when they do enter the work force they are more prepared for the scrutiny of a paid job. Unfortunately people will make mistakes and when they do it on live tv, you can't shoot that signal down over Manhattan, once released, it's out for the world to see. This particular intern is probably going back to emptying the trash, not writing headline copy, for at least a week or so.
The point of this thread is not a teaching moment to show to perspective interns how to be more careful with their proof reading, it's nothing as constructive as that, instead its intent is simply to shame and admonish an evil tv station. From this thread we see the diversity, inclusion, acceptance and tolerance crowd is anything but, instead just petty.
I get and can accept this might have been an intern. My question is how did it get past the programming professionals, the people in charge of putting the shows together and broadcasting? Are there no checks in place? lol, smh
CNN and MSNBC perpetuate a Russian Collusion lie for 3 years, nbd
Fox intern puts up bad graphic....OMG FOX NEWS
Still funny tho, I got a laugh out of it.
You sure are pushing that lie theory. Did you even listen to the things Schiff said in committee last week? Or all the question the left still wants to see answers for? The meetings, the contacts, the back channel, the campaign data sharing, the way trump acted in Helsinki... You can't really call it a lie or claim Trump innocent until we know what Mueller found about these things. Mueller might have found that there was no direct evidence of conspiracy but that Trump and company did have a plethora of suspicious or morally bankrupt interactions with the Russians. But hey, I don't want to be accused of moving the goal post or being unfair to Trump and Putin. smh

Picture this, you're getting ready to go live, commercials are running but the director is getting ready to switch to the live camera feed and the graphic over-lay is needed. The intern, in a hurry is typing in not only the graphic copy but the teleprompter copy. The prompter copy starts running as the anchor begins to speak, then the rush to get the graphic copy out and this intern after hearing all weekend of Mexico this and Mexico that, types Mexican instead of Central American. They hit enter, the director pushes the slide that lays in the graphic and everyone in the control room gasps.

Not one american charged. You're going to nit pick some details and there may even be some validity to it. At the end of the day, not one American was charged with colluding with Russia to turn the election.
Not sure how you can call that anything but propagating a lie.

So you are cool with all the stuff I pointed out above or the things Schiff brought up? OF COURSE YOU ARE! Anything to justify your vote.
Yeah I am such a partisan. I mean, I'm the one who stood on the table for the Meuller report only to 180 tap dance to distance myself from it, right? The fact that you are still quoting Adam Schiff after he perpetuated this hoax for 3 years tells everyone all they need to know.
You know what we do know? That Meuller didn't charge ONE person. So yeah, I can call it a lie, because the leading authority in the world on the subject matter couldn't find enough evidence to charge even ONE person. You and Rachel Maddow can continue down this path with utter lunacy. If you think for one second that they would release this report with something that would completely contradict their verdict you are fooling yourself.
Frankly your cognitive dissonance is impressive. The Meuller report was the end of it and you said it should be accepted, but the instant it didn't say what you wanted, the about face started.

Let's get one thing straight right now! YOU DON'T GET TO CALL ANYTHING LUNACY WHILE SUPPORTING TRUMP!

First let me state that these things happen in both directions. It's not just a "FOX News thing".
But are you actually saying that interns just write things up and then they're fed into a teleprompter? There is no editor to proof read anything before it goes on the air? If so it's no wonder we get so much disinformation.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
It's Trump, of course he is going to spin it. How can you blame him, people have been calling him a traitor, having committed treason and that is just the tip of the unhinged name calling. After years of all but assuring that he would not only be impeached, but possibly sent to prison and forgive me if I'm wrong, you can be executed for treason?
He is a braggadocios ass, but they knew that going in. There was no getting around it, if he was not charged and impeached, he was absolutely going to use it as a club to beat him critics. That was the risk they ran with claiming this act of treason as an absolute fact for 3 years!
I'm not mad at people who were deceived, the media, Maddow, Schiff....they all made this seem like a slam dunk, he was getting impeached. Then it turns out that not even one person was CHARGED. I am livid that the media perpetuated AS A FACT that a sitting president committed treason and stole an election for YEARS and they CONTINUE to do so! ZERO accountability!
This went from this:
To an absolute leftist melt down, refusing to accept the results after saying time and time again that TRUMP needed to accept it and creating a narrative that suggest he colluded with Russia and stole an election in effect committing treason. Demanded an investigation, rubbed every persons nose in it who wasn't sure what to believe for YEARS. Now, STILL refuse to accept the investigation result.
I'm not saying he's an angel, I'm saying there was no collusion. They turned Trump into someone to have empathy for....TRUMP!
I am not supporting Trump, I am supporting facts. Which you quite obviously want to ignore.
You want Trump 2020? Because this is how you get it, ignoring the Meuller report and continuation to spin fantasies.
You're just another BS Trump minion trying to act like you are not. Own it. Nothing I do or say will change the votes of YOU PEOPLE.
Nah bro, you can stomp for feet all you want like. You are willfully ignoring the result of this investigation to suit your own partisan hackery. Not ONE PERSON was charged with treason or collusion. Sorry that you're butthurt about it, but it is what it is.
Wrong. You just want to spin it that way because you think your boy Trump can beat this stuff with your help changing the narrative. 70% of the country still wants to see the facts. 61% still think he done something or things wrong. So you go ahead and claim Trumpian victory and exoneration until the cows come home...
I'll believe it when I see it for myself and the dem leadership verifies the facts.
