Could not agree more.. absolutely kills it for me when they take a play that would get called one way 99.99999% of the time all year and suddenly in this instance they have to micro-officiate down to the nano-second.. completely changed the flow and complexion of the game.

And I hope nobody comes at me with the lame argument that "it's just important to get the call right"... because that's total BS. If they had some altruistic motivation to just make sure every call was right, they would have reviewed the play before that when the UVA guy went to the deck and they called a foul on TT and they would have quickly seen what I saw live, which was that the UVA guy tripped over his own teammate...

Just let the officials do their damn job.. or review every single thing.. but the way they do it now really chaps my arse more often than not.

**All credit to UVA, they are a worth champion who was a top 2 or 3 team all year and they did deserve it, I just wish the officials had not ruined my personal ability to enjoy the final minute of what was otherwise a very enjoyable game.. ok, I'm done.

There were a couple of replays down the stretch that were painful to watch. Like you said, the flow of the game was broken and the nit-picking was extreme.

I congratulate UVA for turning it around after last year's fiasco, but damn man..........it sure seemed like the officials were favoring them the entire tournament. It was almost like watching Duke play.

Virginia won all 3 of these games.

Elite 8 - Purdue 70, Virginia 67, 5 seconds left in game
Final 4 - Auburn 61, Virginia 57, 17 seconds left in game
Champ - Texas Tech 68, Virginia 65, 12 seconds left in game

Never died. What a run.

Replay has become too micromanaged IMO ... I mean TT got FOULED first, then the tip out was 50/50 ... can we not review the foul then too? Because the ref let it go and awarded TT the ball (as refs will often do to avoid micromanaging the game themselves)

Anywyas, what a game and final few weekends! Props to UVA for being clutch and taking advantage of their luck as well

I say over and over, all replays need a cap on the time. Give the refs or replay officials 30 seconds. If you ca't make a decision in that time, keep the same call on the court. It helps the nit-picky calls like last night and keeps the game warm.

Seriously, that dribble out of bounds replay was run 43 times. That's too much. Flip a freaking coin before you have to watch that many replays.

Good run by Virginia though. Lost to a 16 seed last year and then runs the table this year. That's full redemption. Nobody can say poo to them about 2018. Comes full circle.
