Not being facetious but I still believe he won't release them because his income isn't as large as he wants people to believe... and we all know how important it is to Donald that the world believes his stuff is large.

I just think that if it was legal, even if it was unethical, if the numbers were big enough, he would be waving them all over town and bragging about them... while shouting down anybody who dared question HOW he made the money... that just seems like his personality to me..

For me it's not about his taxes, it's about his income.. Where does it come from?

Which was investigated and not one person was charged. It is amazing to me that the left has been brow beating everyone for "not accepting" results for the past 3 years and when it turns out they were wrong......you guessed it, refusal to accept the results.

This entire investigation which now the lot of you still do not accept was.....the result of not accepting the election results.

Try answering why he won't give his taxes and demand the Mueller report be released.

Which is really the only valid question in the whole debate.. and it's a matter of legality, not a matter of morality... if it came from any source that could be viewed as compromising his ability to serve as President, then that needs to be known.. if it came from running a string of brothels in Taiwan that are perfectly legal.. well then that's between Trump and God..

Which is why I have maintained from the beginning.. releasing taxes to the public should be voluntary.. but as a politician, releasing them EVERY YEAR that you are a candidate or in public office to the FBI or the DoJ for review and verification should be MANDATORY..

then they will leak them to the public.. because leaking things in Washington has become a team sport.

It would tell us many things and those things are why for fifty years presidential candidates have released their taxes for several prior years.

Trump said he had nothing to gain from the tax cuts. Well, we all know that's a lie. But how much? Are laws being enacted or do any of his policies help enrich those he does business with? What do the financial institutions he does business with have to gain?

A release of his income taxes for the past several years will either help to show or clear up conflicts of interest. It helps clear up the emoluments clause which is a part of the constitution. Saying that his 2016,2015 or 2014 taxes would have no bearing on things he did in 2017 or 2018 makes no sense.

Who is trying to make it mandatory for future candidates running for president and presidents to release their tax returns?

You seem to be confusing a new tax code with new tax laws. Since it was the Democrats that hated the new tax code I would say it was Republicans. You know, since at the time the controlled the House, the Senate and the oval office.

Well, I agree and disagree.

I feel as if it should be mandatory for candidates for virtually any elected office should show their tax returns..

You can debate what years that person could show, but they still need to make it mandatory.

As for what a tax return can show, geez, so many things.

For instance, where is the person deriving income? But that by itself doesn't really tell the whole story. I could put in that I made $100,000 and if you didn't look at my bank accounts, you wouldn't know if that's accurate.

If, for the sake of this discussion, I ran a Million dollars thru my various accounts but said I earned only 100,000, there is a problem.

Of if, as it relates to the taxes I paid, I say I made 100,000 and showed deduction for something that total 15,000 for the year, it would be wise to see two things, from where did I pay for those items and do I have receipts.

Basically a real audit. People that played a shell game with money in their returns will probably not run if they know they will be scrutinized that well. As it should be.

Recently, we've been bombarded with Memes and articles that say this senator received money from this group or that country... This would put an end to that. Or at least make a dent in it.

We've got to take back this country from Corrupt politicians and groups that want it their way, but not really the way that's best for the majority of americans.

Of course that's just my opinion.
