2020 Republican or Democrat. It matters folks which way will you vote? I am not supporting or putting down either side since I both support and disagree with both sides on various issues. But who will YOU vote for? As for me I ask you to vote from your heart, not just for one single issue. I pray that this election gives us two choices rather than zero choices like the last election.

i dunno who im voting for in the primaries, i just know it won't be trump i'm voting for in the general election. he disgust me even more than he did in 2016.

right now my top 3, in no order, are:

Andrew Yang
Mayor Pete
Elizabeth Warren

Kamala is cool but she has some questions with her prosecutor background that still needs some answers. Corey Booker is.....i dunno what he is, really. something about him is off. his conduct during the Kavanaugh hearings was a joke too and turned me off to him. And thats basically why my top 3 is like it is right now. Harris, Booker, Klobuchar, and somebody else represents the embarrassment that was the democratic party during that hearing.

they also have basic as hell platforms. i understand that right now, all the platforms are gonna be somewhat vague, because right now its just about generating some heat to get on the debate stages, but man, they REALLY got some basic betty platforms right now.

but my top 3 are actually talking in a bit more detail, not just about what the issues are, but how to go about solving it. Yang's really pushing the impending automation problem we're gonna have. Mayor Pete and Warren are talking about healthcare and other issues to lift up struggling communities. all the dems are running on criminal justice reform and legalization so, we will see.

im not voting for biden, sanders, and the rest of whoever they are in the primaries. but, whoever makes it out the primaries will most likely get my support.

It's going to be interesting. Some of the Dem candidates are underwhelming to say the least. Too early to really comment on them.

I heard Bill Weld on NPR a week or two back - he may seek to challenge Trump as GOP nominee and if he was successful I would take a serious look at him. His message resonated with my beliefs - but he may be too liberal on a lot of the softer issues for the GOP ..... plus the GOP seems to have sacrificed any principals and have hitched their wagon to Trump.

Warren interests me - she's obviously very smart, but the whole Native American issue really leaves a bad taste. When she talks about the Big Four tech giants I think she makes a TON of sense... but that's only one issue.

I haven't looked into them enough to know among the 215 dems that are running.... I have a couple friends whose opinion I strongly value who like Mayor Pete and they know a lot more about him than I do so by that factor alone, he is near the top of the list at the start.

I guess if the dems can get a reasonably moderate person out of the primaries, they have a chance to get my vote.. if they go opposite extreme fringe, then they won't and I will see if there is a 3rd party I can get behind but there usually isn't.

And just as in the last election, I don't disagree with everything Trump does politically but he's just too slimy of a human being for me to vote for... and he's done nothing but reinforce that feeling since he got into office.

I have voted for Tim several times yet I still hear how I am so far right.. Tim is a person who should be considered by both parties.

A quick look at his voting record... a lot of what you stand for on here disagrees considerably with how he has voted so it's kind of easy to see why people feel you are much farther right than Tim Ryan.. whether you voted for him or not.

I disagree with him on abortion. BUT we agreed for years. When I said I agreed with him on some subjects its because I did. Face to Face and in person. We agreed on some things and disagreed on others. We disagree on abortion 100 percent, HOWEVER we agreed on it 100 percendt for years. Just look up his history.

It's a hard thing to say at this time. From the posts so far I'd say I'm much in line with what DC said.

I certainly can't vote for Trump. But then I couldn't vote for Hillary either.

I like Mayor Pete from what I've seen so far but that's from a very limited bit of information in the process. And I have no way to know who the Democrats will end up nominating.

So at this time I will say that if the Democrats can nominate a moderate candidate, he or she will get my vote. But I'm not really very hopeful about that.

So it will either be a Democrat or a third party candidate. I haven't looked into Ryan yet but I certainly will be.

And much like you, there will be no candidate from either major party that I agree with on all issues.

I'll vote for anyone to get Trump out of office - doesn't matter which party at this point. For me, it is that simple.

I would have voted for Bernie in the last election. I have said many times that my vote for Trump was multifaceted but the main reason was the corruption that was unearthed with the Dem primaries. Much like many posters here are saying anyone but Trump, I was not going to vote for Hilary under any circumstance.

I think trickle down economics was a proven sham 20 years ago, much less trying it again. So I have a lot more in common with Bernies tax plan than I ever did with Republicans. As long as Bernie doesn't go full Hilary and cave to the radicals in his party RE: pandering exclusively to small factions of Americans (trans, LGBQT etc.) while alienating large portions of would be voters (deplorables).

Unfortunately the best candidates won't gain a lot of traction, Tulsi, Pete are right now out favored by freaking Beto, which absolutely blows my mind. We are going to end up with a bunch of old white guys as candidates on both sides. And if last election tells us anything, reasonable, logic and fact based conversations like Tuli Gabbard will certainly bring, will not drive headlines, if people like Trump and AOC have taught us anything it's that "pwning the libs/cons" is way more important than policy and intent.

The likely scenario is that I will throw my vote away for Tulsi Gabbard or vote for Bernie but if they run Beto and it's close, I will vote Trump.

I have issues with some of the Democratic field of candidates..

Biden and Sanders, while I like both, I feel as if they are just too old. Sorry to say that, but I look at folks I know who are reaching their 80's and as sharp as they once were, They've all lost a step or two.

Harris just lacks what I feel is the right experience.. someone will fight me on that and that's fine, but I just am not feeling it.

Warren, I'm just not comfortable. I can't pin it down, but I'm just not. That can change but I don't know what it would take.

O'Rourke is a talented speaker, seems like a decent guy if you put aside his college years pranks and such..

But some I do like are Buttigieg and Cory Booker who have a great deal of appeal. Gillibrand and Castro are in the mix. Both have a set of skills and Ideas that make sense to me and their words ring true.

The rest leave me without any feelings what so ever.

I was a "never Trump" guy before, nothing he's done will make me change my mind on him.. he's a lunatic who is clearly over his head.

All he does is take anything that has Obama's name on it and change it or kill it. That almost appears to be his only agenda. That and making the rich richer. How does that help the rest of us.

Trying to kill Obamacare with out a replacement (I mean a real one, not this fake crap) Said he wouldn't touch Medicare and SS, yet in his new budget he's killing it.

I'm still convinced that he colluded with Russia but at the very least obstructed justice.. We'll see on that score.

I'd like to see a REAL REPUBLICAN challenge him. Someone that has the beliefs of the Reagan era Republican party, not this neo-nazi, white supremacy, KKK loving bunch of thugs.

I do recognize that to many, his stance on abortion is a hot button and I get it. I'm just one of those that don't feel I have the right to tell a woman (or man) what they can and can't do with their own body.

I'll never understand the evangelicals supporting him. Never. How do you support a man that constantly lies to you.

Nobody on the Right has the guts to challenge him. They are all afraid that the President will call them nasty names..

Speaking of that, the real question for Democrats is, who can stand up to the onslaught of insults and Fox news backlash that will reign down upon them to win against Trump? That's the question. Generally speaking, if we answer that, then that's the person I'm most likely to vote for.

Just an observation, Trumps worst nightmare is if he gets re-elected and the Senate turns to a Democrat majority while the House remains democrat controlled. Yikes!

I did.. a little. I see that he used to be pro-life.

Honest question, did his personal views on abortion really change? Or did he just think he was unelectable as a pro-life democrat? and too liberal in other areas to be electable as a republican?

IMO he thought he was unelectable as a pro-life democrat. I believe he has always run as a Democrat, but has always been more of a centrist democrat.

IMO the three most qualified candidates have already been successfully labeled by the GOP sheep a Socialist, Pocahontas, and a creep. So it’s going to take a new face to emerge now.

Bernie has been spewing the same crap for 20 years.

One of the things that drives me crazy about education policy is that it does not matter to the government what your degree is in... in the real world it does.

Why take on 100k of debt for a 30k a year job? That is silliness.

I like Amy... She is probably the sanest person. Which means she does not stand a chance.

After thinking about it. We shouldn’t waste a second on the next administration. We should spend all our energy on fixing what is wrong with this administration ASAP.

My favorite quote from the movie, The American President...

Quote:
He is interested in two things, and two things only—making you afraid of it, and telling you who's to blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win elections.

It applies as much now as it ever has.. and it's the game both sides are playing...

There would be no room today in the Republican party for Regan, or anyone like him for that matter. Or Bush Sr. for that matter. They no longer wish to elect a real president. Instead they chose a demagogue.

What kind of response is that? I say it's a crock about the whole white supremacist KKK talk. That is strong bull.

If a candidate like Reagan were running I'd vote for him in a heartbeat though. I don't see any candidates like that.

it's an honest response. When you have a president that doesn't condemn the KKK or White Supremsists or the like, you have a president that accepts them, thus my statement.

Just following what Trump himself says and does.

As for Reagan, While I look back at his time as president and see how his Trickle down econ didn't really work, I wonder if I'd vote for him again.

But the answer is probably because he wasn't an international embarrasment like Trump.

I for one think it needs repeated as often as possible.

Anyone that things wind turbines cause cancer is an idiot,, apparently we have an idiot running the country.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I'll repeat it every day if I gotta to get the point across.
