The already made a fortune off of us now they want us to bail them out???? Sorry take the money back from your rich investors instead of the average guy who is struggling to make ends meet.

Really? You expected a better outcome? A better deal? Really? Man, do you really think the 1% gives a flying barf?

So you aren't believing this from their 2018 financial announcement?
"We are beginning 2019 with tremendous momentum, following perhaps the most pivotal year in FirstEnergy's history," said Charles E. Jones, FirstEnergy president and chief executive officer. "In 2018 we executed on our strategy to become a premier, high-performance, fully regulated utility with a long-term, sustainable growth plan and investment grade credit ratings. Today, we are well positioned to build a brighter future for our shareholders, customers and employees as we continue to invest in our customer-focused growth initiatives."
Seems to me, you build a plant, you operate it for decades, somewhere built into your annual budget should be a sinking fund to decommission it when the time comes.. you know it's coming, these things don't last forever.. so they built it, enjoyed the profit all these years, now that it's outdated or no longer of use, they want YOU to pay to decommission it and get rid of it?
I agree with you GM.. sounds like a crappy business policy but sadly not all that unexpected.

Sounds like that 99% could use a little redistribution so 49% aren't living paycheck to paycheck! I mean we need to get that money from somewhere to pay all these GOPer taxes.

They have become pretty rich since then by writing books, doing speaking engagements, etc..

Yeah, I'm not a big defender of Bill or Hillary, but trying to make a comparison in wealth between them and Trump is just silly.

They were very rich when Hillary ran against Trump and we had no choice but to vote for either of the putrid candidates. Also I have heard the left around here talking about Trump not having anywhere near the money he says he does.

In the grand scheme of things.. yea, when Hillary ran she was rich to the tune of $100 million or so in net worth.. still a far cry from Trumps alleged net worth.. And yes, they were putrid candidates for reasons that had nothing to do with wealth.

Well he might be ashamed of the Russians bailing him out - that's one claim I have seen made regarding his current wealth. . . . I also think he doesn't want people knowing his historical net worth (the real number) is because if he'd simply taken daddy's money and stuck it in the bank and collected interest, he'd be worth a lot more today than he actually is.... I doubt anything very illegal will come to light if we see his tax returns, but as mentioned elsewhere, transparency is good. All the other nominees with the exception of one in the last 40 years have made their records public and that should be the standard.

The results are in for trump’s fantastic tax cut for all Americans
Latest CBS poll shows 3 out of 4 Americans have a higher or unchanged tax bill this year.
Yup, the middle class paid the bills once again. And not one peep out of the sheep about spending! Remember how spending and golf trips were all the rage during the Obama years. smh

Remember how spending and golf trips were all the rage during the Obama years. smh Well - the stooges will simply regurgitate whatever lies Trump spits out regardless of facts. The other day - in an attempt to show how EU rips the USA off with tariffs, 40 posted the rates (350% and 130%) that the USA imposes on EU for tobacco and clothes as if it was the other way around ... didn't want to acknowledge he'd just presented false information. Simply left it as if it was a fact.

It's because they're so easily fooled by the stated tax rate. Not the effective tax rate which is what you actually pay when all is said and done.
It sounds great when you tell someone their tax rate just dropped for their income group. What you didn't tell them is that you just cut their deductions so much they will actually pay the same or more in taxes. Their effective tax rate didn't change. You only made it look good on paper. Until they see it on paper.

and yet you put a 1%er in office. doesn't sound like you had enough whatsoever. Oh yes like Bill and Hillary are not Rich either they were almost broke when he left office. All those expenses from his legal battles took there toll I'm sure. I know both he and hillary received hefty payouts on book deals and huge money from speaking engagements and of course he gets his retirement from being president, but I'm not sure how they've made the rest of their money. That would be interesting. Another reason to see tax returns with documentation of all politicians. Of course, Bill and Hillary showed their tax returns back when he was running for President and Hillary showed them again when she ran in 2008 and again in 2016.

I just checked,,, They were $16 million in the hole when he Clinton was leaving office, in 2017 they had a net worth of $45 million..., Really, I guess his pension, both speaking fees and book deals could account for a lot of that... not sure how much but a lot.

they are gonna raise the gas tax, and the roads will STILL look like IED craters in Iraq. parts of east cleveland you can't even drive on.
freaking hate this crap. our cars have to be road worthy, but government won't make sure our roads are car worthy.

Did you ever stop to think that the things you mentioned are why they're raising the gas tax?
Let's face it, you can't buy groceries for the same amount of money you did in 2005. What makes anyone think you can maintain the roads on the same money you did in 2005?

did you even pay attention to what i said?
they are gonna raise the tax despite what we ALL know to be true: it still won't help. because whoever is overseeing the budget will just screw it up again.
its along the same reasoning i didn't like bernies tax plan. he wanted to jack up taxes, but the leadership in charge of the budget wouldn't had made anything better.
id be fine with the tax hike if i actually TRUSTED the people in charge to at least be somewhat competent.
they are not.

keep trying to prove a double standard, though. im enjoying this. please, continue.

I don't have to continue. The evidence is already in. "I don't trust the government to fix my roads if you give them enough money to do the job." "I trust government to run a trillion dollar healthcare plan."
Dewine hasn't been in office long enough to make claims about how his administration will or won't handle gas tax money. You're basing your opinion purely on the party, not the people in charge.

I just find it funny. And at least you're willing to admit it's actually about the party and abortion and has zero to do with roads. I take each issue on a case by case basis. Since you don't, at least you're willing to man up and admit it. Kudos.
