How did you get from Tulsi Gabbard talking about American Imperialism to Hitler is like Trump?

Seriously I want to understand the thought process.

My bad, I thought you were referring to Trump. You got a link to her talking about that? I'd like to hear it.

Credit cards are a sore spot for me. When I got out of college I owed 5k and could barely survive paying them $250 a month was not an ption on my $700 bi weekly check. My car needed brakes or I couldn't get to work, you know to pay my bills.

Missed a payment.....24% interest on 7k is $140 a month in interest alone, I could barely afford the minimum payment, which meant I was paying like $50 a month on toward the principle when I gave them $200. They force you to play the balance transfer game.....

It is a huge scam that forced people in bankruptcy that hurts all tax payers. The only one who benefit are banks.

Use credit wisely. It's not someone else's fault.

My wife is finally coming around on this. For the longest time - vehicle, appliance...........you name it.......she was all "well, we'll just make payments"

And I kept telling her "the more payments we have to make, the less we have. Keep adding payments, we'll be broke before long."

For her, it was all about "charge it. Look what we got." Until it came time to pay for it..........then she was "look.........I can't pay this, and that, and that" etc.

I'm on the fence about this cap on interest rates. The reason is credit worthiness won't matter anymore. What rate will 800 plus scores pay? 700 plus? The lower scores will be completely denied credit, but maybe they should be.

I also believe banks are raping the consumer with revolving debt. That might be a better option, get rid of revolving and make it more amortized if possible.

Americans think they are entitled to every thing.

The newest video games
The latest phones
the fanciest computers
luxury cars
the biggest houses
traveling everywhere
eating out all the time
running up tabs at bars
Amazon.com all the time

What do you mean they have credit card debit?
Surely this is caused by someone else!
Evil corporate America must be to blame!
Those damn credit card companies made me buy stuff!
Why arent millionaires buying me things? Because they owe me! Since our income isnt equal!
What do you mean I have to learn to manage my finances?
What do you mean I need to improve myself to get a better job?
McDonalds paycheck should pay for all these things dammit!
I dont need no edumacation!

I have an iphone 4. It was my sons. Then my wife got it. Then me. I don't know how old it is. I don't care. I get, and make phone calls on it. I get text messages on it.

No. Why? Credit cards are paid in full every month. House is down to 30,000 some thousand, on a house taxed at 240,000. Car payment, and Jeep payment.

I just hate debt. I don't care how big or small, I hate debt. I understand car/vehicle payments., I understand house payments/debt. I just hate it, and them.

Short sighted. No one should ever owe 30% interest for missing a payment. They prey on the youth, it is literally modern day slavery. Ohh you couldn't pay this month? Sorry your 3% went to 24.7% and now your minimum payment is 15% principle and 85% interest.

You are literally stanning for big banking. What do you personally stand to benefit from a bank ripping off your fellow American? I will never understand why people want banks to get MORE rich.

I have no sympathy.

Live within your means.

Its not rocket science.

Dont spend more than you make.

The problem is that people run up huge bills when they arent in a position to pay for them.

And then cry its unfair.

Maybe get a grip on yourself and have some actual accountability for your actions.

I'm just a tight wad. Which is good, cause my wife is the opposite.

She sees "look what I got today". I see "I want to retire at some time."

And don't get me wrong, she's a hard worker. No doubt about that. She's also a perfectionist. And we don't have the income to be perfectionists.

On one hand, I agree with you. You shouldn't pay 30% interest on credit card debt.

On the other hand, you were buying stuff you couldn't pay for for the most part.

If you can't afford it, why get it? Oh - for the 'now' factor. Or the 'keep up' factor.

Or maybe you are delusional.

I spent my whole life living within my means.

My first 2 jobs were McDonalds.

I made 3.75 an hour.

I managed to save up 16k while working in that meager pay, because I'm FRUGAL.

I put myself through college, part time, with no loans.

My whole life has been that way.

I never had anything handed to me. I worked hard my whole life.

I never lived extravagently.

So, today, I have zero debt.

Its a little annoying when whiny ass entitled people cry foul that "its somebody elses fault" because their dumb ass ran up the bills paying for crap they cant afford.

Sucks to be you. The rest of us roll our eyes.

Again, short sighted. Imagine you're making $10 and hour and you have kids, your car needs $900 in new brakes. That is what? 2 full paychecks?

Then your kid gets sick and you have an overnight stay 5k, boom your 6k in debt within a month. Miss a payment? SORRY 25% interest, now you're paying $150 interest on a minimum payment of $200.

Ah yes the age old baby boomer response. I DID IT IN MY TIME. Credit cards and modern day banks weren't even around when you were working at McDonalds, absolutely zero comparison.

So let me get this straight, correct me if I am wrong. You're advocating that it is perfectly reasonable and even warranted that Bank of America bankrupt families on ridiculous interest charges because you lived within your means ONCE UPON A TIME?

I'm not a baby boomer.

And yes, in the 80s, banks and bank cards existed,

And I still live within my means today, because I want to retire someday,

But sure, make more excuses for your out of control spending habits.

Who was making excuses for over spending? Who is the one crying now?

You're the one advocating that banks be allowed to charge like loan sharks. Like honestly, you think holding this moral authority over people who had bills to pay is noble? 20-30% interest is loan sharking, legal loan sharking.

So go ahead, thumb your nose at people for paying medical bills and fixing their car to go to work and pay taxes. Asinine.

Dude, I won't get into it with you. You present s scenario.

How about this scenario:

Eh, never mnd. Credit. You agree to pay back what you put on credit. If you can't, you have to pay interest.

I get it. Some people can't pay in full each month. Heck, with my daughter's mri 2 weeks ago ($2500???), and our appointment with a new doctor next week, and the surgery that I am sure the doctor will recommend, seeing as we haven't hit our deductible.............I/we'll have debt.

But, I understand using someone else's money requires paying interest.

And if you don't like paying 25% interest? (seriously? I haven't paid 25% in............like, forever. Or ever.

I am not arguing that you should not have to pay interest to borrow money. It is a predatory practice, you miss one payment....reason irrelevant, look up credit card rates if you miss a payment, they jump from 3-5 all the way to 20-30% for a single missed payment.

All I am saying is, breaking the backs of low skill, low wage earners is abhorrent.

I also dug myself out of that hole, long ago, I haven't carried a balance in almost a decade, that doesn't make it ok to rip off the young and the vulnerable in the name of "Big banking".

Like honestly, who advocated for big banks to rip people off? In the name of what? Conservatism?

The only tears are yours. Credit Cards are NOT meant as a loan mechanism, no matter how much you want them to be.

If you need an actual loan for a large purchase you should go to the bank.

If you want to be STUPID and use a credit card as a personal bank loan, then dont cry about the interest.

Nobody can help you if you arent fiscally responsible.

Young people dont HAVE to dig themselves into debt.
But a lot of them CHOOSE to.

Speaking of stupid. Imagine thinking that everyone using credit cards can get actual bank loans. Imagine thinking that everyone who gets themselves into credit card debt has an understanding of interest and credit when it isn't taught in schools. Imagine thinking that it is perfectly reasonable for banks that make billions of dollars a year drive regular consumers into bankruptcy that the rest of us tax payers have to absorb.

Imagine being that daft. Can you?

I can certainly imagine the kind of stupid it takes to not understand credit cards charge interest. Because seems a large part of entitled Americans dont bother to understand or care about that.

But, I guess that is the liberal way. Zero accountability for your own actions. Must be somebody elses fault.

Yeah Eve, I am such a liberal. lol

Being uneducated, what a crime against humanity! Just let those banks take advantage of them and have our taxes absorb the bankruptcies. Banks deserve to crush below average means citizens. How else will Rothchilds maintain their 400 billion dollars? The American way!

Basic math doesnt really require that much education.

Well see BPG, that means banks should be regulated into not driving people bankrupt through predatory loan practices. And we can't have that because Murica!
