On Thanksgiving?

I have. Actually, traffic isn't bad on Thanksgiving day. Most people are already at their destination. Now the day before, or the Sunday after, forget it.

I drove up to Cleveland on Thanksgiving day maybe 7 years ago for a Sunday game. Did the same with a game we played in Cincy over that weekend. That was maybe 5 years ago. Drove back home on Monday morning as usual..

OK....is there any real word on when the schedule is being released? I don't get the NFL with all this crap. That have had months to work out a schedule and then shuffle things around to satisfy their network partners. The teams have had time to book their rooms etc. It's time to allow fans to do the same.

I like to sit down with the calendar and plot out what games I am going to and with who is going with me.

I like to book my rooms early. Is this a game I am going to stay downtown, or out in a suburb to save a few bucks on lodging? If it is just me, I might stay at a Red Roof. If my wife goes, Marriott Courtyard at minimum.

Am I going to fly up to a game?

Lot's to decide. I like to plan. That is a big part of the enjoyment.

Apparently our schedule has been leaked... and that's the only schedule I care about.

I would be surprised if the schedule is different than what has already been leaked, but I'm sure it's possible.

I would be shocked if the schedule that was leaked is our actual schedule.

Wasn't it already confirmed a few days ago that the leaked schedule was fake?

That's right.

2019 NFL schedule to be released Wednesday - NFL.com
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001026543/article/2019-nfl-schedule-to-be-released-wednesday

Get ready to circle some dates on your calendar.

The NFL will announce the official 2019 schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, April 17, at 8 p.m. ET live on NFL Network, Good Morning Football announced Tuesday.

The announcement of the 256-game slate, played over 17 weeks starting on Sept. 5, comes just over a week before the NFL Draft kicks off on April 25 in Nashville.

The NFL previously announced the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears would kick off the 2019 season, with one of the NFL's most storied rivalries commemorating the league's 100th anniversary.

The NFL revealed the preseason schedule last week.

In addition to all games for all 32 teams being revealed and broken down on NFL Network, NFL.com will provide full, extensive coverage of the schedule release on Wednesday night. Grab some popcorn, dial into your TV, and log on to your phones tomorrow night.

I'm sure that individual game times, etc. will start getting leaked tomorrow. The marquee matchups and things like that. We'll have a good idea about some Browns games before 8:00 tomorrow.

I have seen at least two different ones. I doubt that either is the actual one.

That is why I decided to stay here and never move from here, at least up to this point.

Glad to here some news on the release date.

It doesn't matter... we still can't start playing them until August.
Folks just need to learn how to relax and wait a little bit.

I mostly agree. It's just that I relax a bit better once I know the schedule.

If we get a Monday, Thursday, or Sunday night game, the downtown rooms book fast, and the rates go up fast. I would want to spend the night downtown to beat parking problems and the tailgate is usually heavier. I'd just want to walk back to the room.

If upon announcement of the schedule and we have some combination of those dates, I might book tomorrow night

I can certainly understand the anxiety factor for those making travel plans. I used to go through the same thing while living in Dayton on a smaller scale. I never made it a round trip in a single day. The one thing I tried to keep in mind was this. Everyone was playing by the same rules. We all got the information and the opportunity to make those plans at the same time.

It was also a bit comforting to know that in many cases people travel and buy tickets in groups. In order to make such plans they had to first consult with each other to confirm things. That's a logistics issue which helped put me in a somewhat favorable condition.

But then again, at the time tickets weren't nearly as high in demand as they will be now. But you have the ticket end of things covered.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

No anxiety. I am just a planner.

I may have had some anxiety when my work docket was filling up 4-5 months out. I don't worry about that now, but none the less, going to Cleveland is a trip. It's not like a cross town jaunt...even a day trip. I like to plan.

I have been on trips where I was planning things a year or more ahead. I don't like last minute crap. I was never writing a book report on Sunday night at 8PM before it was due Monday morning when I was 10 years old. It was done by the Monday before. Wednesday at the latest....I mean the latest.

That is just me. Being late for anything is total failure.

I'll have some critical reservations made on Thursday by 7AM, and a few of those home dates will be critical unless I want to settle for 2nd or 3rd choice.

I don't like to settle. Again, just me since I was a young boy. I can't explain it, just explaining how it is

Just to clear up the confusion on those leaked fake schedules, the one referred to a Sunday “nite” game, and had the old dolphins logo on the schedule.

I would be shocked if that schedule was true. I wouldn’t believe anyone, other than trusted sources, from here until 8pm tomorrow.

I think even if they give the Browns an opener Monday night, it'll probably be one of 3 games, maybe a 6pm, 9pm, and 11pm eastern time trifecta.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

At this point the rumors/leaks have become comical ... so many conflicting reports, probably what the NFL wants lol

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

To this note... I wouldn't be surprised at all if there were actual leaks and the NFL didn't approve and redid the entire schedule.

from what i've gathered, they're basically controlled by the TV networks ... they revolve the schedule around the wishes of NBC, ESPN, CBS, FOX ... each network fights for the top teams for their primetime slots

Then they just fill in after

We are about 9.5 hours from the schedule's release. They will probably start putting it together after lunch.

This. Peter King used to write an article about the schedule every year. They are constantly working on different permutations up until a few days before the schedule is released.

Tom Withers of the AP, who reports on Cleveland sports, says he has been sworn to secrecy but has been provided the entire Browns' schedule. I'm guessing some are not keeping the same standard.

I'm sure he is currently writing his article about the schedule breakdown as I am typing this.

So with us playing week 2 at NYJ, that means we'll open up at home Week 1

Who do we prefer to play?

Here are the home games: Steelers, Ravens, Bengals, Rams, Seahawks, Bills, Dolphins, Titans

Here are the ones we can eliminate due to other games: Steelers (play at NE), Bills play at NYJ), Ravens/Dolphins (play each other)

That leaves: Bengals, Rams, Titans, Seahawks

Who do we want to open up with?

Bengals. I think we need to get off to a fast start. The Rams would be the worst-case scenario.
