i agree with the the report that these losers didn't collude. i've stated that when the news first dropped.
my beef is with the Devil's, Willits, Arch's, BpG's, and 40's of the world. they claimed they couldn't vote for hillary because of all the dirt and shadiness surrounding her.
well she isn't running in 2020. so i cant wait to see what excuse they use next to justify the shadiness that is trump, in order to vote republican on down the line again.

also, why am i not surprised that Barr once again tried to run interference by putting out a positive narrative, when the report shows anything but?

Well this is going to be very interesting watching this unfold. Initial reports say that many trump officials lied to Mueller and Congress which added complexity to the Russian interference investigation.
Bits and pieces point to: - Obstruction happened but Mueller felt he could not indict a sitting POTUS. - Collusion evidence did not meet the level needed to prosecute, however there is tons of evidence that shows efforts to collude or work with Russians.
Will take a few days to digest this 'non-searchable' pdf but I don't see how this will stop the congressional investigations or end the debate that Trump is dirty. See that's where there is false info, because later on it says "Under applicable Supreme Court precedent, the Constitution does not categorically and permanently immunize a President for obstructing justice through the use of Article II powers....the conclusion that Congress may apply the obstruction laws to the Presidents corrupt exercise of powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the princilple that no person is above the law. " They can. They didn't, because they couldn't find enough evidence.

Didn't you guys learn anything from the 1990's regarding Clinton? Comparing apples to rotten oranges is some sort of equivalence in your eyes? PUH-lease. Dems are in a catch 22 here, they should impeach immediately yet doing so will hurt them due to the lies Trump and Barr have used to whitewash this along with Senate GOPers not having the spine to go against Trump.

"While it may be more difficult to establish that public-facing acts were motivated by a corrupt intent, the President’s power to influence actions, persons, and the events is enhanced by his unique ability to attract attention through use of mass communications. And no principle of law excludes public acts from the scope of obstruction statutes. If the likely effect of the acts is to intimidate witnesses or alter their testimony, the justice system’s integrity is equally threatened. Although the series of events we investigated involved discrete acts — e.g. the President’s statement to (James) Comey about the (Michael) Flynn investigation, his termination of Comey, and his efforts to remove the special counsel — it is important to view the President’s patter of conduct as a whole. That pattern sheds light on the nature of the President’s acts and the inferences that can be drawn about his intent.”
yikes.

One of the talking heads just nailed it; Trump escaped criminality in the two probes of the investigation even though evidence shows highly suspect activities as well as an effort to cover it up. They nailed it because that is what you were hoping this would show?

Special counsel Robert Mueller wrote in his report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign that although he lacked sufficient evidence to clear or charge President Trump on possible obstruction of justice, Congress could take up the issue.
“We concluded that Congress has authority to prohibit a president’s corrupt use of his authority in order to protect the integrity of the administration of justice,” Mueller wrote in his report, a redacted version of which was released by the Justice Department Thursday.
Mueller made clear in his report that he did not believe his investigation cleared the president of much.
“If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state,” Mueller wrote.
Still, Mueller wrote that Trump was, for the most part, unsuccessful in influencing the outcome of the investigation.
"The President's efforts to influence the investigation were mostly unsuccessful, but that is largely because the persons who surrounded the President declined to carry out orders or accede to his requests."

While the president concluded Barr’s summary proved his complete and total exoneration, Mueller’s report itself was far less definitive.
The special counsel wrote that “collusion is not a specific offense or theory of liability found in the United States Code, nor is it a term of art in federal criminal law.”
After describing the rationale on whether to charge the president with a crime, Mueller laid out a damning series of events detailing the contacts between the Trump campaign, the president’s family members ad former lawyer Michael Cohen and the Russian government.
"In approximately Sept 2015, Cohen obtained approval to negotiate with [Russian real estate company] from candidate Trump... Cohen also discussed the Trump Tower Moscow project with Ivanka... and Donald J. Trump Jr."
Mueller was also resolute on the role the Russian government played in helping elect Trump.
"The Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election in sweeping and systematic fashion," the report states.
On the question of obstruction, Trump, Mueller wrote, "engaged in efforts to curtail the Special Counsel's investigation and prevent the disclosure of evidence to it, including through public and private contacts with potential witnesses."
That contradicts Barr’s assertion Thursday that the president “fully cooperated” with the investigation.

The president realized the appointment of the special counsel spelled trouble for his presidency. According to notes contained in the report, “when Sessions told the President that a Special Counsel had been appointed, the President slumped back in his chair and said, 'Oh my God. This is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I'm f**ked.'"

In all seriousness, does anyone here think Trump is actually going to damaged politically by this nothing burger?
I say he will be more popular than ever. That spells big problems for the party of AOC.
Only places Trump will lose are NY City, LA, SF, Chicago, Philadelphia, yep, that's about it.

Even though there are people who call themselves independent, but are anything but. The fact that when the news first dropped about collusion and obstruction, his poll numbers didn’t move says a lot. Again, there were tons of people who only voted trump cause of Hillary. Well, isn’t running. And somebody like Bernie and mayor Pete can take back all the states that Obama won, like the midwest, from trump.

Somebody needs to fill in the blanks
[REDACTED] Manafort also [REDACTED] wanted to be kept apprised of any developments with WikiLeaks and separately told Gates to keep in touch [REDACTED] about future WikiLeaks releases. According to Gates, by the late summer of 2016, the Trump Campaign was planning a press strategy, a communications campaign, and messaging based on the possible release of Clinton emails by WikiLeaks. [REDACTED] while Trump and Gates were driving to LaGuardia Airport. [REDACTED], shortly after the call candidate Trump told Gates that more releases of damaging information would be coming. [REDACTED]
Mr. Barr said this type of material must be kept secret because it was relevant to a continuing criminal matter. That is probably, at a minimum, the indictment of the former Trump adviser Roger Stone Jr., who is charged with lying about his participation in such efforts. But this raises a larger question: whether the hidden evidence shows that the Trump campaign conspired with WikiLeaks. At his news conference on Thursday morning, Mr. Barr said any campaign collusion with WikiLeaks could not amount to a criminal conspiracy because WikiLeaks’ publication of the emails was not a crime so long as it did not help Russia hacking them.

That’s how you walk the line.
There was clearly communication between the campaign and Wikileaks. The only thing they had to do was not get directly involved with the hacks.
It seems MAGA hatters don’t care about ethics anymore. Just whether something is legal or illegal.

I always felt like Trump was a POS as a person... it appears he is an even bigger and more unethical POS than I had originally thought. It seems almost like shear luck that he didn't cross a line enough to get busted and, in the end, might have been saved by the fact that some folks around him have slightly higher ethical standards than he does.....

i dunno how that equals 'no obstruction', but ok. Translation: we tried for over 2 years to find something, but couldn't find anything no matter how hard we tried. That doesn't mean it didn't happen. The Steele docier was false and made up. They investigated nothing, and found nothing. Now they're all trying to parse words and stretch phrases to make something out of nothing. Still nothing to see, other than the criminality of the left.

So Trump is a shady character. Yeah, we know, absolutely, unequivocally not the point of this investigation.
Was there collusion to hack/steal a democratic election? No matter what way you slice it, the answer is no.

Was there collusion to hack/steal a democratic election? No matter what way you slice it, the answer is no. Maybe the answer is ultimately no... at the very least, nothing they could prove... But based on what we have seen so far, I am pretty comfortable that there was absolutely enough there that the investigation was warranted... it was not, in fact, a "witch hunt"... it was an investigation with a lot of leading indicators that SOMETHING illegal MIGHT have been going on.

I would agree with that. I think from what I've seen so far there may have even been a "Want to" as it pertains to gaining information from the Russians. The hows and why's that fell apart aren't really relevant though, it just proves what we knew all along, these people (and not just Trump) play dirty.

You know, it didn't take very long reading this thread to get to the actual point here. And it's one helluva dichotomy to see in politics. Hillary had evidence against her but they couldn't prove the intent of her actions. Thus she wasn't charged. The right went NUTS! "LOCK HER UP!" The left had their ah ha moment and all we've heard from the right ever since is what a criminal Hillary is. Now there is evidence that Trump may have obstructed justice but they can't prove intent. So now the right is saying they have a ah ha moment and the left is screaming. When one side claims to have the high ground they should be willing to admit that they're both guilty of the exact same thing. It look like Hillary and Trump both got off for the exact same reason. Lack of intent. Maybe it's time both sides shut the hell up?

I have always struggled with "intent" as it relates to the law... I've never understood why somebody convicted of attempted murder gets 10-15 years but somebody convicted of first degree murder gets life, just because they were more successful.. the intent was the same.. If it was his INTENT to violate the law, that, to me, is far more serious than him just being too dumb to realize what he was doing..

j/c: When Trump was first accused of collusion the first thing I thought to myself was, "Really? The Russians?!? Come on now." Blame our ol' cold war enemy. Not a bad idea, but to me this was a red flag from the get-go. I said this before and I'll say it again: I mean no disrespect, but those of you who believed (and still believe) in the collusion conspiracy have all been had. I suggest you might want to read something besides our main stream media for your news. They were almost all in on it, as you have seen and read the last couple of years. P.S. Now back to Trump not releasing his tax returns. They will never stop. It's actually kinda entertaining, but in a sickening way.
