Carolina's home crowds are wild too, those people are having a blast right now

They have a lot of making up to do.

In most cities like Boston, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago... other cities that have devoted hockey fans, hockey interest really starts to pick up when the NFL is done in late Jan/early Feb....

In Carolina, hockey starts to pick up when the Final 4 is over (mid April) because that is the THE single biggest sporting even around here.

I was hoping they'd beat Boston, whom I hate. Also, I like Torts and thought it would be cool if they went deep.

Go St. Louis....

Seems Boston has the experience. Seems like until you have players who have went deep that are on the team its hard to go all the way. Not exactly the same thing but I remember watching all those Cavalier teams in the mid 2000's and on.

Having players who have won a championship before is also important. But this experience is invaluable because they know what type of effort is required. I'm not an avid hockey fan or anything, just think that would apply to any team.

Carolina in the semifinals. Goes to show how hard it is to predict NHL playoffs.

Hats off to these guys for a solid season. Improved over last year, had good playoff experience despite flush in the 2nd. Clearly takes more than they have. Certainly brought some great efforts. Thanks, CBJ!

A solid season, they were thoroughly whooped by the Bruins. We just do not have their talent, they were getting open look after open look while it looked like most of our shots were just fling it in there and see what happens.

What an arsehole reporter. Why would you ask if this loss sucked as bad as last years, other than to be a jerk?

He's freaking awesome. I remember when he got hired by Vancouver and some of the media were saying he had to simmer down, change his ways. I was like 'are you serious?'

He isn't going to change for anybody.

My Blues didn't look too good in game #1. If they continue to play like that it will be a short series. I've had a saying over the years that every spring the grass turns green, flowers bloom and the St. Louis Blues get knocked out of the Stanley Cup playoffs pursuant to them making them of course. I was hoping this year would be different.

Big win last night for St. Louis. Series tied 1-1 heading home.

They're the only team left I can stand.

Glad to hear it Lamp. It was a big win. They didn't turn the puck over as much. They have to take care of it better because SJ puts a lot of pressure on in the Blues zone forechecking. I don't know how good it is their coming home; Blues play better on the road!!

Tough call last night that led to a tough loss. In a series like this where both teams are so evenly matched a call like that could make a difference in who wins it. Well, the Blues are going to have to try and put it behind them and get ready for game 4. They need a win bad or it could be over. Down 3-1 to a team as good as the Sharks will be tough to overcome.

I rarely complain about the refs in hockey, but it's unacceptable at the NHL level for an officiating crew to miss a call like that. It wasn't just a hand pass on a scoring play, it was literally the pass to the shot that won the game. You can't miss that call. There are 4 of them on the ice.

To boot, that play isn't reviewable. What? You can review goalie interference, which is a judgement call, but not something that could be upheld or wiped out with ease? I didn't even know that, but you can bet your whole life that it will be reviewable next season.

The Blues were absolutely robbed. Who knows if they go on and win, but it just stinks as a whole. San Jose has gotten away with some pretty amazing calls this post-season.

I thought the Blues coach handled it well, deflected blame to them giving up a late goal in the first place, and put the focus on game 4. Hockey is such an emotional game that a call like that could derail your series. You have to just move on, as much as it sucks.

I think the league would love to see a Boston/San Jose series. The whole Joe Thornton angle, and you get the bay area and new england markets. It wouldn't do as well as some of the recent cup finals, but I think the level of hockey will be pretty amazing. The Bruins defensively are a nightmare right now. Carolina was great all year and then ran into a buzzsaw.

That was a brutal non-call in game 3. But I don't think the NHL wants officiating to decide the Stanley Cup finalists.

I really don't understand why they felt like they needed to add all this replay into the game?

Was anyone really complaining about the way they call offsides? That whole thing baffles me. I sometimes feel like they are always looking at the NFL, and thinking they somehow have to keep up with them. The NFL makes small changes every year. Hockey didn't have a problem. I have no problem reviewing goal or no goal, but offsides and goalie interference were things they added just to add. Nobody was complaining about those calls being missed. I just don't get it.

It's the same thing with the scoring. They for some reason think they need more goals. I understand there is a large chunk of sports fans that do not watch hockey. You're just not going to get them. I think you're better off aiming your sights on getting younger fans to buy in, and that is more of a marketing issue than the need for more scoring.

I've never understood the disdain some have for hockey. Not only do they not watch it, but they go out of their way to let you know how much they don't like it.

I don't mind the replay check of the offside if it had resulted in a goal right away. I don't like it when the teams play for 30, 40 seconds, a team scores and then they go to replay.

I'm not really complaining about the call other than it was tough. As a Blues fan I felt it was their fault the game went into O.T. should have won in regulation. It was a great win tonight, showed they have heart!! Best of 3 now. GO BLUES!!! thumbsup

It was only one game but the Blues looked faster today, the Sharks seemed worn out and couldn't counter the Blues' speed.

On January 2nd, the Blues were in last place...and tied for worst in the entire NHL with 34 points. Now they're in the Stanley Cup finals.

Great season for the Blues!! I've been waiting 49 years for my Blues to get back in the Finals and 52 for a Stanley Cup. I hope they can finally win one this year!!! Go Blues!!!!

My heart says the Blues but the Bruins have a lot of talent and are playing well. The way Tampa Bay and Washington lost also made it easier for them to get to the finals. It may just be their year.

Hoping for a great series. Don't really like either team, but the way both of these teams came into the postseason, as well as how they are playing now bodes well for a good matchup.

Not a big fan of Tukka Rask, but he's playing out of his mind right now.

Great win by the Blues last night. They showed they can stand toe to toe with the Bruins and win even in their building. Series is far from over but living in Bruins territory it will be nice to hear them crying, complaining and questioning themselves the next 3 days over what happened. Boston sports fans feel they have a sense of entitlement. They aren't suppose to lose.

Imagine how they will act if they get the trifecta..

Red Sox - World Series Champs 2018
Patriots - Superbowl Champs 2018-2019
Bruins - Stanley Cup Champs 2018-2019

If Kyrie wasn't so petulant, they might have had four this year.

I didn't watch the game, but when I saw the OT winner I was a little geeked up. Going back to Missouri tied 1-1 is huge. I live in eastern Canada and Boston teams are fairly big here.... I hate them all, hate their fans, the city, the cops.... their stupid accent.

Also, I like the Blues' jerseys and St. Louis Blues rolls nicely off the tongue.
