I think he can pass it on, I think the problem may be that he can't get the guys motivated?

Even if you have great, unmotivated players, you can't win. If he can't motivate guys, he has no business being a head coach.

Why don't you guys give him another game or two before you toss him out on the street? He hasn't had much to work with up until this year and I'm still not sure we are where we should be player wise. I'm going to give him two more games before I head up to Cleveland to personally put some kind of magic powder in his donuts.

I was talking about him motivating players. Motivation has nothing to do w/ what's around him.

I think they are motivated... I think they start every game with all of the fire and emotion of any other team... I think they don't handle adversity well, could be youth, could be a culture of losing in Cleveland....... It's the undisciplined mistakes that get me more than anything else...

The fans that go every week, seem to stay motivated. And we're paying to be there, not getting paid millions. I wish the team had the heart of the fans, and I wish the fans had the wallets of the players!

Said rookie head coach inherited a better team than we've seen here in years!

I think Tomlin will be a solid Head Coach, when have the Rooney's not made a great choice?

As far as my comments, it was pertaining to the fact that someone said the Steelers were more prepared than us and to me that is indicative of our Coach's inability to get us prepared. Hence the point I made about a rookie HC coming in here more prepared than ours.

The Steelers have been in a particular system and routine for several years, that team could probably run itself right now.

3 negatives right out of the gate, deflated us and put us in a hole we weren't prepared to climb out of.

Take away the 10 points we gave them the ball within FG range within the first 5 minutes, and it's 7-0 at half time, still manageable.

I'm not giving up yet....in fact, I never give up on my team.

I'll post again on this subject after I watch the game again. Any comments I make now will be made from a drunk memory, which would be based more on a hazy recall, than on facts, or even good judgement.

You mean the same fans that were chanting "Brady" 4 minutes into the game, were booing by the 2nd quarter and were leaving the game by the 2nd half? I think the team started quiting around the same time the fans quit on them.

I agree with DC here ...

We got into a hole QUICK and couldn't recover. I think the Steelers' average starting position was our own 30 yard line for the first quarter.

Savage is doing a fine job... RAC, well my confidence in him is sliding, more because of mistakes and lack of intensity than anything else. The guy obviously knows a lot about football, I'm beginning to wonder if he can take that knowledge and pass it on and use it effectively....

I'm pretty much with you here. I'm not a big fan of high turn-over like some people here seem to be. Part of getting better has a lot to do with chemistry and sticking with a plan for awhile so people can get used to it.

But like you said, there seem to be a lot of red flags with Romeo so far ... lack of intensity with the team (especially in the face of adversity), a lot of stupid mistakes and turnovers, a LOT of penalties, and horrible use of challenges.

No, not those fans. The fans that hit the home opener lots of time only go to that game. I mean the fans that are there every game, no matter what, brave the weather and bad play. Those are the fans I'm talking about.
