So in no particular order, the ones who should be moving on to the next round is:
Warren Booker Klobuchar Castro Ryan de Blasio Is there a cut down for the next debate? There better be. I say cut it down 5 each. And who gets chosen, the top 5 in the polls?

If Warren were a man she would be confused for Karl Marx. This is ridiculous. It's obvious you have something else against her. Maybe her being a woman bothers you, or a progressive? Or a socialist.

Why you cut off my last line? No response to the TRUTH?
My bad, you might have missed my edit. I did not see that line. The 1%ers are all that is wrong with this country, correct? Nope. The wealth inequality created by generations of policies made to favor corporations and the 1% is a very large part of the problem. Far from all of the problem though.

Nice to see some love for my boy Tim I didn't get to watch it last night since my wife would rather be slowly killed by a rabid pack of wild fire ants than to watch any debate, but I hope to be able to find the time to watch it today since I recorded it.

Castro really pushing equality for women in healthcare and pay. When is someone going to push equality in family court for fathers? Maybe Ill care a little more about equal pay when fathers are treated equally in court.

I think it'll come down to Bernie or Warren. I thought Warren came off pretty strong and authentic yesterday and her answers didn't seem so cookie cutter. I'm really looking forward to seeing the candidates tonight though.
I thought Tim Ryan looked foolish and should already just drop out (and I'm from NE Ohio). I actually think last night solidified him never becoming president. Focus on Lordstown and Youngstown, Tim.
I thought Beto looked ok, but the dude just seems...off. Like a really awkward person to talk to. As shallow as it is, it was tough to get over Booker's crazy eyes.
Tulsi Gabbard is interesting..and smoking hot. I thought she relied too much on her military experience though. Oh, and there's the whole Assad and Syria thing.

I forgot about that. I remember hearing him saying it, taking a minute for it to digest, and then I was like "wait, what?" And heard the cheering. I don't think people registered what he was actually saying lol.

I’m glad the debates went the way it did. The conservatives ofcourse don’t like it, and the MAGA hatters don’t like it because they spent very little time talking about trump, and most of the time talking real policies hat effect everyday Americans.
Trump called it boring. But we know he called it boring because the debates weren’t about him.
Keep doing it that way, Dems!

I thought that was Tim Ryan's flaw. Seems like he brought up Trump way too often.

Ryan tried but still kept it under control. The ones who tried to really get at trump were Gabbard and inslee. Which happened to be the two of 3 with the weakest showing. The third being Delaney.

He was on MSNBC this morning talking about last night. Kind of smacking Gabbard around for butting heads with him last night on war in Iraq/Afghanistan. Probably find it on MSNBC Youtube channel later this morning.

I see the GOPer clan is in here this morning to bash the dems... nothing of substance whatsoever. They seem scared for their boy Donny the traitorous illegitimate president. Between dems talking sensible policies to help working people, dems investigating his crimes, and dems being the adults in the room... the future is grim for them.

This was the first round of the NCAA tournament and there were no major upsets. The dems would benefit greatly if about half of the participants from last night went back to their day jobs today so they could start focusing on the serious contenders.

Ryan may have a real shot at this.... Alas he made a fatal error for me. And I really liked him going into the debate. But when he said it was the Taliban who carried out the 9/11 attack and Gabbard had to correct him to point out it was Al-Qaeda who carried out the 9/11 attacks, it was a shot to the heart of his credibility for me.

What has Ryan accomplished in his what ... 9 terms in office? What legislation has he introduced and seen become law? (other than renaming the 711 bypass as a political favor to the Hagans) What has he done to help his district as far as jobs, tax relief, manufacturing, or really ... anything? If Tim Ryan had been elected and never spent a day actually showing up for work, what difference would it have made? What has he accomplished ... legislatively, or otherwise? He is another guy who went to school, then went right into politics, without a clue as to what it is to actually work for a living. He went from college (President of the Young Democrats) to the State Senate, to the Congress. He has never had to work for a living. I am incredibly underwhelmed by Tim Ryan. My toaster has produced more results that he has.

NBC News analysis declares Donald Trump the winner of first Democratic debate
By David Montanaro
Fox News
An NBC News analyst declared President Trump the winner of the first Democratic presidential debate of the 2020 election cycle.
Author and reporter Jonathan Allen expressed surprise that Trump emerged "largely unscathed" as the field of 10 candidates mostly avoided direct attacks on him.
Allen said the Democrats seemed more focused on positioning themselves furthest to the left to win over primary voters, rather than appealing to the swing voters that decided the 2016 election.
"For long stretches, it seemed, they completely forgot about the man who has been at the center of pretty much every discussion among Democrats for the last two-plus years — the man they're competing to take on next year. The obvious reason: The motivation to beat each other was, on this night, more urgent than defeating Trump — a life-or-death moment for some of their campaigns. Trump was the chief beneficiary of that dynamic," Allen wrote.
MSNBC HOSTS CLASH AFTER ONE SAYS NOBODY ON STAGE COULD BEAT TRUMP Gingrich on first Democrat debate: None of these people are going to challenge TrumpVideo
He noted that after the debate, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., argued that ignoring Trump was intentional because "he’s an old show that people are getting tired of.”
Allen argued that by doing so, Democrats could allow Trump "to exploit their divisions and position himself for re-election" and "he was one step closer to that after Wednesday's debate."
The sentiment was shared by MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, who said it was “a missed opportunity” for Democrats to not go after frontrunner Joe Biden or President Trump. Another MSNBC commentator, Donny Deutsch declared confidently after the debate that none of the 10 candidates on the stage could defeat Trump next year, including Warren. Some Democrats push far-left radical policies at first debateVideo
Meantime, New York Post columnist John Podhoretz saw things similarly, taking particular issue with the candidates' far-left push on immigration. He said the candidates "spent far more time talking about how they would help illegal immigrants than about how they would help the voters they most need to win over" and that will benefit Trump.
"If I were Brad Parscale, Donald Trump’s campaign manager, I would be dancing a jig — because if this is the way the Democrats and the media want to discuss the economy and immigration, he is going to have a field day with the quotes they will generate from now until the election," he wrote.

I actually agree with this for he most part. Warren would beat his ass on having a plan for things but I'm not sure she can scrap it out in debates with him. But the flaw in this logic is this: does Trump have enough support after 2 1/2 years of scandal, ineptness, and his special brand of twitter cry baby politics to win the center votes? This election may come down to rather Trump beats himself and that's a foe he is incapable of calling names and or bullying.

I disagree.
I think the candidates specifically stayed away from the subject of IQ45© just as Dems did in the runup to the 2018 Bluenami.
It was a time to gain exposure and tout their own positions- not try to tear down the standing (drooling) PoTUS.
I found the entire affair rather refreshing. Dolt45© consumes enough daily oxygen as it is.
It was also nice to hear 10 people speak in complete, coherent sentences without taunting and name-calling each other like a grade school playground.

I wasn't talking about the lack of Trump attacks, Clem. I was addressing the heads up matching between last nights group on stage and Trump. I don't think at this point any of them could straight up beat him based on their policy views alone. It would require the aid of the pure anti Trump vote to push any of them over the top.
Someone posed the question that if candidates agree that our economy is currently very strong, how can voters justify voting for radical economic change. THAT my friend, is the type of question that might swing the reluctant votes of the middle, who dislike Trump, to vote for him again.

Are the moderators the same for the 2nd debate? Lester Holt of NBC News is the moderator. He will be joined in the first hour by Savannah Guthrie of the “Today” show and José Díaz-Balart of Telemundo. Chuck Todd of “Meet the Press” and Rachel Maddow of MSNBC will appear in the second hour.

I would not be surprised at all. I think the establishment and MSM have been promoting Warren toward that end.
