Frye may not be the only Browns QB to be traded today. One to atlanta and one to NYG

I heard the same report, but more would be involved with the Giants.

Then we only have two QBs on the roster? That wouldn't make alot of sense.

We just picked up a QB we Released a week ago and named him our starter for Sunday.....that dosent make sence either,

We shouldn't be ready to lynch him until after Bye week. We always have a really good showing against the Byes. If he can't beat them, then off with his head!

Havent been able to confirm anything but it is looking like they are trying for a player for player deal instead of a draftpick.

Do they have any spare D-line talent?

If all of this is true I can see Brady starting on Sunday. Dorsey being bought back to mentor him.

Coach,
I noticed that the WRs really did not yell out/point out to Frye that blitzes were coming also. Even though I can say he did not play well, I think trading him after drafting him/working with him is a MISTAKE!! Let him be a backup, but a trade after 1 qtr of play leads me to believe that OPIE does not know what he is doing!!

Hopefully we still are not planning on starting him yet. If we do, the fans will be sick of Quinn and want change as soon as he throws his 1st INT or misses his first blitz pick-up.

Assuming this is true, good luck Charlie. Many of us wanted the hometown guy to succeed here, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Your right, they no had business drafting Frye in the 1st place....all he did was make the Browns fans feel all warm on the inside when he was drafted(way too high) cause he was a backyard boy...
he hasn't improved one bit from day 1.

I wouldn't necessarily say this is all Savage's doing... I wonder how much of this is Randy Lerner pushing for an immediate change.

Wow, you love to troll this board.

Drafted too high? He was projected as a 2nd rounder.

Now go watch your Bungles, and watch how the officials throw bogus flags to save your team.

Sometimes you have to tell the boss not to cut off his nose despite his face!! I might not like Frye right now but if I was in the cleveland media, I would be asking what the hell is going on out there in Berea? I mean how do you go through all the camps, preseason and then wait until the first game to do this!.. Its stupid and if Lerner asked for this and Opie followed orders, he is stupid also!!

I agree. Like I said, im not surprised this happened but im not happy about it. I would rather have seen D.A. go than Frye. From the other people talking it sounds like he may be gone too which is even stupider to get rid of both. Quinn better have that playbook memorized.

Coach I'm just saying, with Charlie Frye being from Central Ohio, attended Akron and he grew up a Browns fan,I think those facts there clouded the fans judgement on what kind of QB Charlie was......
Nothing wrong in supporting a guy.....but Charlie Frye at best is a 2nd string QB....

Wellll SOMETHING for U to snack on...

Snack on some of it..you HAVE to eat your words now..
It's all working out just like I told U..
Dorsey back(shouldn't have been released)..now Frye going bye bye..it should be Anderson but if they don't move him it's because he may be mentally tuffer than Frye..

We are the laughing stock of the NFL. This whole thing as become a comedy of errors, something I don't find very funny. I like Frye but I was telling my friend at the game that he needed to be pulled. He looked worse than I had ever seen him. The FO is looking like a chicken with it's head chopped off. I wonder what the players are thinking about all of this.

Exactly. How could we be dumb enough to wait until week one to move these guys out?

I am just baffled at the bad decisions being made surrounding our QB position.

They better be thinking "Holy crap, if I play one bad quarter im outa here. I better give 120% from here on out." Not likely but it would be nice if they were.

Frye to be Traded or Cut
Last Edited: Tuesday, 11 Sep 2007, 12:21 PM EDT
Created: Tuesday, 11 Sep 2007, 12:21 PM EDT

Breaking News into the Fox 8 Newsroom...

Fox 8 Sports anchor Tony Rizzo has learned the Cleveland Browns are trying to trade quarterback Charlie Frye.

The move comes just two days after Frye was the team's starting quarterback in a season opening 34-7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Browns have confirmed they will try to trade Frye up until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

If the team is unable to trade Frye by 4:00 p.m. the former third round draft pick will be cut from the team.

The 4:00 p.m. Tuesday deadline is the latest a player can be placed on the activate roster for the following weekend's game.

The move to trade or cut Frye was made to make room for the newly signed Ken Dorsey.

Dorsey was signed by the Browns on Tuesday morning after being cut 10 days prior to the start of the 2007 season.

Coach,we both know for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. I'm really surprised it hasn't dawned on people.

I said all along that IF either Frye or DA was let go,then the coach must feel comfortable with Quinn being a lot closer to ready than we thought. I stand by that. They don't really see Dorsey as a legitimate option to play to any extent.

So the "Quinn era" just got stepped up one notch faster today. That's really the bottom line here. Dorsey helps give Quinn the "crunch course" on the playbook and they just pray DA can stand upright for a few weeks. That Fletch guy was onto something.

We're going to see Brady sooner than later. Games 4-6 IF DA can stay healthy. If not?

May be sooner!!!

And might as well guess what we got for him....................

If Draft pick; 1 pick, round 4-6 (if we're REAL LUCKY)
Maybe a 6th round garuntee with conditional escalaters to a possible fourth. It would be rated on Charlie's production.

Player trade; Well Atlanta is fairly deep at WR. Well,if you compare them to our WR line up. And Charlie DOES fit their system with his roll out and scrambling style.

So they might be willing to give up a fairly good WR for Charlie. Once again, this is the BEST case scenario coach.

If we got any MORE for him than I stated,I'd be SHOCKED!

Less than that? Not so much.I could see a seventh rounder and a back up punter and I wouldn't be shocked.

So there's my .02
