We don't really disagree to a great extent. The only place we really disagree is that I don't feel everyone who votes for Trump is what you call a "MAGA hatter".

I don't believe a lot of them are conspiracy theorists.

Where we certainly do agree is that out of all of the candidates they had to choose from, the Republicans chose this ass clown from the entire field of candidates. They ignored his lies, his conspiracy theories and all of his racist tendencies that have gone along with it.

They seem to stick their fingers in their ears going, "la, la, la, la, la, la" to ignore the obvious signs of his intentions to sow racial divide in our country.

So we're not that far away from complete agreement.

The only thing is, I think a lot of people who voted for him the first time have regrets. I think some of them have a firm grasp of the obvious. And I think trying to label them as, "all being the same" isn't going to further garnering their votes. People make mistakes.

So it's worse to vote for a person who was investigated for years that netted no indictments and no convictions, than it is to vote for a man who was investigated and it created a total of thirty-four individuals and three companies that were indicted. Eight have pleaded guilty to or been convicted of felonies, including five Trump associates and campaign officials.

And you wonder why people think some of you are nuts.

Hillary was proven guilty. She sold off nuclear material to Russia and she illegally used top secret information off her public computer. She should be behind bars for treason. Flat out.

From my viewpoint, I think racism is real. I see it every damn day. Contrary to what some posters portray on here, I see it from both sides. I see white racists. I see black racists Neither is better or worse than the other.

I think that the most outrageous racists are the least harmful. Most folks know they are whack jobs and never take them seriously.

I think the most dangerous form of racism are the subtle undertones of our society. There are guys like Gronk and Baker who say all kinds of outrageous stuff and are publicly intoxicated. They are just "having fun" and are not "cookie cutter" players. Yet, if a black dude like OBJ or Zeke says or does something much less inflammatory, they are assigned negative labels.

Likewise, there are folks who say stupid crap like they wonder if all Republicans are racist. They say absurd things like whites want blacks to be nice to them. They want to shoot cops. They want to label all whites together.

There is no difference in the grand scheme of things. I will say that I understand why blacks are more bitter. No doubt about that one. But, a racist is a racist no mater his color.

White are the majority. They don't have to change. Blacks are the minority. They should desire change. Knowing that............why in God's name would you want to alienate the very same people you wish to change?

Think about that.

I think at times "the Talk" that people have mentioned can be part of the problem. If you look stressed out and nervous, a police officer is likely to wonder why and his/her adrenaline is likely to start pumping.

Are there terrible, racist cops? For sure. But, are there also people who have been raised to hate/distrust cops? Yes, this also seems to be true.

However, I feel like the individuals at those extremes of being willing to kill each other are blown out of proportion.

I feel like if "normal" people go into a situation wondering if the other party could be one of those extremists it can be something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. People tend to see what they expect to see. They look for things to confirm those expectations often passing over contradictory information because it's not what they are looking for.

Instead of teaching distrust, which seems to generally lead to conflict, trying to instill an attitude of "trust, but verify" might be a better approach. If you're being pulled over, calmly turn on your phone's camera as soon as you pull over. Don't be aggressive about it, but non-chalantly mention it with your hands in plain sight.

I think racism kind of can work similarly. If you're constantly looking for it, you're likely to think you see it all the time. That's not to say it doesn't exist, but a false accusation can lead to feelings of being attacked, which lead to feelings of hostility, which can lead to lashing out/back, which can take the form of "racism."

With regards to politics, is a horrible person that is good for your family's financial wellbeing or a "good person" who is horrible for your family's financial wellbeing a better choice? In my opinion, it's awful either way.

I didn't and won't vote for Trump, but in some ways I can almost understand it. Yes, he's a horrible person, but as president he'll be the most highly scrutinized person in the world, presumably tempering his worst tendencies.

Bleh, I actually still can't really understand it. He should be starring on a bad reality TV show rather than "running" a country. It does kind of feel like they could be shooting the series "Bad President" with a cringeworthy accompanying Twitter campaign. Am I getting Punk'd?

One of them ... i spent plenty of time in NYC and Times Square from 83 - 85 ... loved Times Square ... and the scummy Times Square had diddly to do with folks of any specific color it was just a hell hole .. it was a ghost town at night and for good reason and it wasn’t cause of the brown folks ...
