I think the Dolphins actually won that trade. MIAMI - OT Julie'n Davenport, DB Johnson Bademosi, two first-round picks, and a second-round pick HOUSTON - LT Laremy Tunsil and WR Kenny Stills. Yes I would agree the Dolphins won the trade

I’d say the Dolphins won the trade as well, they’ll just be horrendous this year lol

Yes I would agree the Dolphins won the trade Houston was awarded a 4th round pick as well (I don't think rotoworld can keep up with all the news, they also had an error where they had Duke Johnson to the Broncos lol)

Not to mention their HC. Dude probably wished he had stayed in New England. Yeah Flores (I think) is going to be overwhelmed with inferior players...opposite of his situation in NE. It'll be so tough to field a team with inferior QB play (will happen with that poor OL, and minimal weapons)

That’s basically what we had as well ... it’s their turn to have a quick turn around .. but, they’ll have to endure this season first

Wow, not negotiating the deal first? Not quite ideal

Not doing it simultaneously with the trade is the same as handing the player/agent the contract for them to fill out. https://twitter.com/AndrewBrandt/status/1167922226370203648

Miami needs to find out this year if josh Rosen can be an their qb of the future. If he turns in to an above average qb they can use all those draft assets to build a really good team around him. I am not sure what their cap status is but look for them to be the next browns (suck for 1-2 years then build a very good team). Maybe finally someone can challenge the patriots in the east.

Rosen worse nightmare just came true. he went from a team with a trash OL to another Team with a trash O line.

Miami is odd..I'm sure everyone knows the Devante Parker saga down there, then before FA started they handed him a big deal...I knew it was downhill from there.

I think fitz is scheduled to start for them. They may hold Rosen back if they think he would be damaged by this awful team. But if they are convinced he can be their guy they can build an awfully good roster the next two years, if they have someone who knows what they are doing.

If the Dolphins thought Josh Rosen was their guy they wouldn’t be making trades like this. They’ve seen enough. It’s Tua in 2020 or Lawrence in 2021 or bust at this point.

What a dumb trade by the Texans. They got hosed in this deal, and I cannot believe they didn't negotiate a contract extension for Tunsil before agreeing. So stupid. Watch Tunsil get suspended for Substance violation. That would be the icing on the cake for dumb move.

Tua? I don't think he looks like an NFL QB. Herbert has the talent, but he was terribly inaccurate last year.
Not a good year to be chasing a QB.

Yea, I agree Vers. Trevor Lawrence from Clemson looks like the real deal, but he is only a Sophomore, so he is a 2021 draft guy.
Miami seems to be following a Sashi like plan, however can you imagine what would have happened if we traded Joe? Holy cow..
Fitzpatrick should just concede and retire. He is going to get killed behind that Line.

Fitz has a history of short term success that he cannot maintain. I think Rosen will have a chance to show he deserves a long term shot. I don’t think there is a sure fire nfl qb coming out next year and Rosen was highly rated two years ago.

We’ve got a good old fashioned two-year, tank job on our hands in Miami. Dolphins fleeced the Texans. This happens when you don’t have a GM and the coach is trying to win now w/o regard to future of the team in an attempt to protect his job now.

The browns proved you can tank it all to win in3 years. Potentially really good

I'll add... I see our tank-job differently than theirs...possibly primarily due to my belief that theirs' just started and ours recently ended. We tanked for two years primarily via the draft...to build draft capital. I know they got a HAUL for Tunsil...to build draft capital...but they will likely have to burn one of those 1sts to replace him...and that will be a gamble. What I'm driving at is we tanked by trading draft picks and their initial tank move was to trade a very good player at a premium position...I don't recollect us doing that.

They’ll be trading down a bunch to acquire more picks too.
We let good players walk and got compensatory picks.

Capper to Saturday’s trade: Houston paid Jadeveon Clowney a $7 million signing bonus while Seattle is paying the remaining $8 million of his salary, per source. Seattle also promised not to tag Clowney after this season, per source. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1168153526700335104

So apparently Houston's trade is even worse now. They agreed to pay $7 million of Clowney's salary.

If Houston was in win now mode anyways, why not just keep Clowney? A 3rd round pick, in comparison, is peanuts ... so dumb (and to pay half the salary LOL)

The answer is that they don't have a GM and Bill O'Brien is running the team and has no clue what he is doing.

Gaines was fired because OB wanted to trade clowney and Gaines told him he w as crazy... unfortunately OB won the power struggle... but in the process cloweny realized OB didn't want to pay him or keep him... probably started when they franchise didn't him as a linebacker rather than defensive end which was a few million less than what he shu Do have been franchised as.... Clowney had all the leverage in this situation because of how badly the texans screwed up...
