I think our lack of improvement on the OL reared its ugly head today ... we need to take a look at how Tennessee protected their OTs They ran away from them some cutting the field in half. They used play action perfectly and repeatedly beat us with the same play. They also just played us straight up. If Garrett doesn't get a good jump on the snap, he's ineffective a large percentage of the time. Our D, like the rest of the team, just didn't appear to play with any real game plan or strategy. They didn't appear to adjust much.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I understand the pessimistic like Dawgs4Life. I think you have him confused with another poster, maybe leadtheway who is the ultimate negative poster. Dawgs may be annoying with his number of posts and the fact that he rarely clicks on the poster he is talking to, and responds to quotes above the actual quote, but he isn't negative. Hahaha. Great post! Lead is in a class all by himself. I'm not sure what to even label that. Dawgs likes to be negative just in case it doesn't work out the way he wants. But then when it doesn't work out the way he wants it doesn't seem to have helped that he expected a bad result in the first place. Ha.

The Browns are a good team that had a horrible game today. I'm not ready to give up on the season because of one bad game. I'm really concerned about Kitchens but the Browns should still make the playoffs.

I've seen some awful openers; this may have been the worst. But I still think this is a good team. Not Super Bowl good, but maybe ... probably "playoff good". So what I'm going to do is stick this really bad horrible awful and ugly game in the rear view mirror and look forward to next week against the Jets. Fix the penalties, get the ball to Nick Chubb early and often, go into the no-huddle offense regularly, and keep the pocket moving to allow Mayfield throwing lanes. Teams don't go from 0-16 to SB contenders in 2 years, so get ready for a bumpy ride this year, folks. There's going to be some ups and there's going to be some downs.

The three things that really worry me after todays debacle ... - The penalties ... that was a total lack of discipline all over ... - Freddie did some really dumb stuff .... long list ... i don’t feel like typing it all out ... his last dumb move was having Chubb running the ball down by 30 on the last series ... that makes no sense ... - the OL lost what little depth it had today and we can’t live w/o G-Rob ... not that he’s any good but good lord what we have behind him now is not even NFL caliber ... I expect see vast improvement from Freddie on down in the next game .... we should be some orny dawgs after todays hot mess .... LETS GOOOOOOOOoooooooo

Dawg, I respect your opinion, I hope your right, but I'll believe it when I see it. I have had too many disappointments with my Browns over the last 50+ years.

Good point about the loss of GRob ... that legit killed us IMO. Just from a shifting/depth perspective
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

The old saying rings so true after the game...you win or lose in the trenches.we lost that battle on both sides of the ball both physically and mentally today.its really concerning on the d side because that was supposed to be the strength of our team

Good point .. both lines didn’t perform and it’s a big reason we lost

I find the finger-pointing at Freddie disconcerting, as if he deserves the bulk of the blame for this loss. The knee-jerk reactions have started already.
18 penalties. Can't win that way. You get behind the sticks, or give the other team easy first downs.
Shifting o-linemen when a dumbass gets ejected and another gets hurt.
Can't win that way.
Three picks in the fourth quarter. Can't win that way.
We know we're better than this. We'll beat the Jets by 10 or more.

At least all the bull about the playoffs and Superbowl can die off. All I want is a team that plays good football and the rest will take care of itself. We are a long way from that. The team showed awfully poor coaching today. That needs to change.
WAY too early to jump ship or make any conclusions except that things need to change. Let's all hope they do. Quickly. Go Browns.

They out-physicaled us, and out-executed us. they came into our house and kicked our asses by being prepared, disciplined, physical, and they executed. We, on the other hand, fell apart, shot ourselves in the foot time and again, and didn't execute. We got our asses handed to us, but I certainly don't believe every game will go this way. On to week 2.

When it was 15-13, I thought we had it. That 75-yarder killed. And then the wheels fell off.
It felt like the refs were trying to knock us down a peg after all that media coverage. We did it mostly ourselves, but it felt like an attack.
Will Robinson be suspended?

Every time there's a loss there will be blame for the loss. That's natural. People are identifying the reasons why.
No one is saying he should be fired other than lead.
But if you are talking that there should be no blame in a loss, that's dumb.

I agree ... I thought we would win if we got a stop after the long TD drive ... then the back breaker by Henry

I'm not piling on Freddie but penalties and a lack of discipline are a result of coaching or a lack thereof. You can't blame a coach for a dropped ball or an interception etc. But how disciplined a team plays is a direct reflection of coaching. So Freddie needs to get that crap straightened out QUICKLY. He's a rookie so he gets a pass for a game or two but this team won't win 5 games if we keep getting penalties at this rate.

It's easy to lay blame, harder to give credit. The Titans won the game. That's where the credit should go. Looking for a place to lay blame is an exercise in futility. Yes, we could have played better, yes it's possible we could've been better coached in this loss, yes our Browns should have been more disciplined, but it was a loss because they flat out beat us. It's hard to admit because everyone wants a reason why we lost. Well, there it is.

Here's a thought, might be nothing at all.
After the safety, it seemed Baker was in some pain. Looked like his arm.
He stayed in the game, but his throws did not seem the same after that. Not as crisp. Had some wobble, missed some by a good amount. Not making excuses, but wondering if his arm was bothering him after that safety.
And why bring him back on the field for the last series if all we were going to do is hand off?

Can we really blame Freddie for all the brain-cramps that resulted in flags? Isn't it reasonable to expect that the starting LT will not get ejected? Or to expect we don't get flagged the most times we have been penalized in 68 years?

Spirit: I think the team was 'too aroused' today. Too hyped up, and when things started to go bad we lost our cool and it got worse.

I thought they were undisciplined with no apparent gameplan.
I can understand 5 or 7 flags, but EIGHTEEN? Thats totally on the coach.
This team was unprepared.
