So Taylor Lewan is out because of a suspension and their right tackle is hurt?!?! Not practicing on a Wednesday usually means a player is out for the game.

wondering if that means the common pick of 5 sacks must be adjusted to 7.

Wow if both starting tackles are out our DL should have a field day

I just read that the Titans have been giving Conklin maintenance days all summer, so we’ll see if he practices tomorrow

JACK CONKLIN
T, TENNESSEE TITANS

Titans RT Jack Conklin (knee) missed practice Wednesday.

A mid-week absence typically isn't concerning for hog mollies in the trenches, and Titans coach Mike Vrabel confirmed as much Wednesday by noting he "expects Conklin back" later this week. OLB Reggie Gilbert was the only other player to miss practice for Tennessee.

Conklin practiced in full ... so back down to 8 sacks ... thumbsup

And then there’s this from our resident diva ...

ODELL BECKHAM
WR, CLEVELAND BROWNS

Odell Beckham (hip) still hasn't "opened up yet" while running.

"It’s like an extremely fast car with the alignment off," Beckham said Thursday. Yikes. "The car can still go, but it’s dangerous.'' Beckham claims he's getting better, but admits the injury is "something that prevents me from opening up and sprinting." Frankly, that sounds a lot worse than we were expecting. Beckham will be out there against the Titans — he is practicing in full — but it's fair to wonder what his effectiveness might be. Hopefully we get a more encouraging update some time between now and Sunday.

He's a full participant in practice. If this was serious he would be limited.

A part of me feels like we have been sandbagging on offense in preseason. This also could be more of the same.

I hope Ten reads into this at all thinking "oh OBJ isn't 100%, let's play him man. He isn't going to beat us deep".

BAM 75 yard TD to OBJ on the second play of the game.

Man how sweet would that be?

Can’t ask for much more than that going into the first game

at first blush, "not able to open the hips and sprint" doesn't sound too bad; you can work with that. The fact that it is lingering as long as it has is slightly concerning.

Sounds like a tweak that they are trying to keep from turning into an injury.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Agreed.

Hilliard had a concussion and did not return.

Higgins? I did not see him on the field in the second half, but no news of an injury thus far.

I’m hoping Higgins avoided serious injury and is only out a short while; our offense looked worse without him on the field

It may lead to more two tight end sets. Or it might lead to more Ratley.

I want the former of the two, but the latter will probably happen because of our lack of TE depth

Maybe we can get Ricky Seals-Jones up to speed.

That’s a possibility, though I’m not sure his blocking prowess will give us enough versatility to pull off the looks that Orson Charles or Fells provided us last year

Browns coach Freddie Kitchens said Monday quarterback Baker Mayfield should not miss any practice time despite hurting his right wrist during Sunday’s season-opening 43-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

“I don’t expect him to,” said Kitchens, whose team will visit the New York Jets for “Monday Night Football” on Sept. 16.

Mayfield grimaced in pain after outside linebacker Cameron Wake got around right tackle Chris Hubbard and sacked him in the end zone for a safety with 1:42 left in the second quarter. The play allowed the Titans to go ahead 12-6, the same advantage they held at halftime.

Mayfield stayed in the game, but he left FirstEnergy Stadium with his right wrist and hand wrapped as if he were wearing a fingerless glove on his throwing hand.

“X-rays [taken after the game] were negative,” Kitchens said. “So we’re good to go.

“We’re just now on the day after the game, so we’ll have to see how he feels. But I’m pretty sure he’ll be fine. I can’t say anything definitive right now as far as missing practice time, but I’m pretty certain he’ll be fine.”

Mayfield finished 25-of-38 passing for 285 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions, all of which he threw in the fourth quarter, including a pick-six. He posted a rating of 64 and took five sacks.

I looked up TE ranks from last year and didn’t see him in the top 50? (Though Harris is LAST on the list haha) ... but this is overall ranking

I suspect us to do something with the backup OT spot because it sounds like Lamm will be out a while and Forbes as well.

In terms of Randall, I don’t recall him being injured, except maybe a bruised ego

Yeah, is Murray his backup? If so, that’s less than ideal
