The "Bah humbugs" from Erik don't dampen the the visuals of this event. Did you see all those people? WOW!
Climate change is not only happening, the majority of people want to take as much action as we can to negate the effects! The profit over people and planet crowd is losing and singing the blues. Who cares really?
Vers the hippies that protested a wrong war, ushered in civil rights, and made love not war went on to be the yuppies of the eighties that created most of the issues we have today. Trickle down economics, too much faith/church mixed into politics, pick yourself up by the bootstraps "you're on your own" social safety net policies, corporations are people and money is free speech, dumbing down America with cuts to education and skyrocketing college cost, resist all change and deny all faults... This is who those people became.
So I'm not going to applaud them or give them special recognition at a time when we need people to step up and do the right things for the planet, the country, and the people. Hell, they (many Reagan Republicans old farts turned Trumpian by Fox propaganda) gave us Trump! That was their answer to climate change. Why would I or anyone that is awake in this moment offer accolades to them for that? The 60's were a defining moment, this is another defining much bigger moment.
Climate is only one of several gigantic issues we face. It's time to pass the torch to the generation that will have to live with the results of our actions. Most of those opposing action are living a lie for their final years on earth.

you guys were the ones who polluted it to begin with, and continue to do so. Wrong. The factories, sewers dumping in rivers and lakes, coal plants, lead gas, and every thing else was already here before I was born. I don't even care about credit, but I do care about truth. If these little 'saviors' really want to do something, they should gather at the Chinese consulate/embassy or other Chinese entities to protest their pollution. The US is sparkling clean compared to them. Hell, 1/3 of so called carbon pollution comes from china, and the majority of plastic in the Pacific comes from south east Asian countries. We get a bunch of people whining about the US dropping the Paris accord when china, India, and other actual polluting countries never meant to follow it in the first place. It's a hoax. EXACTLY what i just finished posting about. what about china. lol kick rocks

Well, they're gamers, so. Swish is a gamer, whats your point? There's a difference in playing video games and being a hard core gamer. I have a grandson in his mid 20's. He is married with a baby. He works, spends a little time with his family and games. The vast majority of his free time revolves around gaming. Do you think he knows anything substantial about climate change? No, because that would take an effort of his time and attention. I understand this is how you make your living so it would only be normal to be defensive about it. But the fact is how you invest your time in life is directly connected in what you do and don't know about. Too many of our youth are so immersed in a virtual world that they know very little about the real world. That does not describe Swish.

Also yet another reason that kids need to be home schooled. It makes it much easier to indoctrinate them to the world of Trump and climate deniers when you hide them away from all the evidence. #childabuse

I am going to assume that you missed my question. Honest question for you. Did global warming and cooling happen on Earth when man/woman had zero to do with it?

because its a trap question.
everybody knows the answer to that is yes.
but that was before man started drilling into the ocean and other places. that was before we started driving cars with horrible emissions. that was before we started mining and burning coal.
that was before we started testing and dropping nukes on the planet.
the only reason you asked that crap is to try and dismiss man's CURRENT impact on the planet.
none of us is claiming that man is the SOLE reason for climate change/global warming. what we ARE saying is that now we are part of the problem.

Coral reefs are dying. The polar cap is melting at a rate higher than any time in recorded history. The seas are rising and the temperature of the oceans are rising as well.
Your answer? Let's try not doing anything.
Industry has changed throughout our history. I'm sure horse and buggy makers sounded a lot like you after the invention of the automobile. I'm sure the whale oil industry sounded a lot like you with the wave of kerosene.
Here's you problem. You've made this sound like some conspiracy issue. Who is the conspiracy against, the oil industry?
You do realize that as jobs are lost in one industry they are replaced by jobs in the industry that replaces them.
What is it that makes you against having a cleaner planet anyway?
Soldiers have died over oil. Right now we have some in our government wanting to start yet another war over oil. You seem to be supporting that rather than finding a way to put an end to that.

It's a trap question in as far as it was leading to my next question which I have asked several times and not a single person has answered because they have no clue. How much effect is man having? The world is going to warm up again, and it is going to cool down again (unless us dumbass humans blow it up first)Are we causing the planet to be unlivable 10 years sooner? 25 years sooner? 100 years sooner? and Just when is the warming going to happen if we contribute ZERO pollution?

I am a huge advocate for peaceful protests that are designed to invoke change. It's one of the few avenues where the people can actually be noticed and get things done. Thus, I do support the kids who were there for the right reasons. I think it's actually very inspiring. Interesting you say that now because yesterday you berated me with insults and defamed my character & career when I literally said THE EXACT SAME THING.

The answer from some seems to be, "Well we're not sure how much impact we're having so let's just do nothing".
That's not a very good answer either.
And speaking of points not being addressed.... How many more of our troops will have to die over oil before people realize that maybe there are even more reasons for alternative energy and being independent from foreign oil?

Oh I am all for doing something, BUT not at a huge cost to our lives now if the world will be unlivable in 475 years instead of 500 years. However if it will be unlivable in 50 years instead of 500 then we need to do a hell of a lot more.
Plus we are wasting our breath if we are making changes while many of the other countries are ignoring it.

unlike you, i rather NOT know the answer to that question. I think you already know the answer to the question. The world is going to warm up again just like it has before and I don't believe we can stop it. Can we as humans speed it up..... sure we can and I think we are to some extent, BUT nobody knows to what extent. They just want to stand looking at the sky yelling "The sky is falling, The sky is falling" To be fair there are others standing on the opposite side pretending nothing is happening.

We get a bunch of people whining about the US dropping the Paris accord when china, India, and other actual polluting countries never meant to follow it in the first place. It's a hoax. Erik the thing is...the US and Europe already went through the Industrial revolution and came out of it and then had to have massive regulations and established the EPA. Both China and India are now at a similar stage, BUT we know a lot more about how we are harming the planet and we have better technology & knowledge to do significantly less damage. Nobody is disputing the what you are saying re: China. However, the US should be a world leader and should work with Europe and other countries ensure that all countries follow suit. But, by the US pulling out of the Paris Climate Treaty it's a gamechanger and essentially saying to the rest of the world that the US won't follow regulations already in place (let alone tougher ones) nor will they enforce other countries to do so. Also it sends a huge signal to the Chinese, India and Europe that the US isn't interested in investing or supporting this MASSIVE new economy and the Scientists and engineers and many of the new companies etc. that will develop radical, creative, cutting edge technologies will go to other countries and the US will lose out. BIG TIME. The lack of foresight into the massive 21st century job and clean economical opportunities is comparable, in a sense, to how Kodak lost out in the digital race. They refused to see that photography was changing and they believed there would still be a greater demand for analogue photography. Companies in Asia however went digital and Kodak was left in the dust. By the time they finally got their act together and gave in to the digital revolution the company and Rochester were decimated. Scientists and engineers are already looking at Europe as a leader and China is pouring money into investment and wanting to cash in on America's absence. The one thing the US has proven to be good at is our creativity. However, if we turn our backs on this the creative people in the world will go to the places where the investment is being made and they are encouraged and supported to create.

Ya think?
How much is never losing another troop in wars over oil worth? We are getting ready to send 200 more to Saudi Arabia as I type. And listening to some in Washington, they'd like to send a lot more.
See, when we focus one one part of the issue, it gets to sound like a revolving door. When we look big picture it runs deeper than that.
We may disagree in terms of what it may or may not do for the planet. But I think we can certainly agree that we shouldn't see more troops dying in the middle east over oil.
Let's be honest here, they have been warring it over there since the time of Jesus. We will never change this. And trying to say you don't believe any of our conflicts over there didn't revolve around oil?
Saudi Arabia just had some of their oil and processing plants blown up. We're sending missiles and troops.
What do you think it's worth to put an end to that?
How many more trillions should we spend fighting wars over there rather than invest that money in becoming independent from their oil over here?

They arent hardcore gamer games. My games have social media features. A lot of them are just there to chat and make new friends. If you think kids dont have a life outside games, you'd be wrong. They go to school. They date. They have friends. They have family. They work. Its not like they live in a basement and never see the light of day. I dont think Swish lives in a basement. But, nice stereotyping.

Maybe you should include some social media features that will lead them to more information than people getting ready to storm area 51. Which only a few dozen even showed up for.
Let me guess, you believe everything your gamers say online. I suggest you don't try dating apps.

What? I never would believe you would say that.
Did you know that right now our government spends 20 billion a year subsidizing the fossil fuel industry? Do you realize how many jobs would be created? How in the hell is that going to ruin the economy?
Our government subsidized the railroads when they were first built coast to coast.
And who in the world suggested anyone ride a bike 20 miles to work?

Did you ever notice he always attacks liberals? 40, Eric and others on the far right say just as much if not more, and never a peep?
Then he tries to play morality police to those who lean left. It's a hilarious crap show. Yea, if you live and work in the city. But it’s not just biking. Take public transportation, which is also woefully underdeveloped in this country.
Some of these fat ass losers in this country literally get in a car to drive two blocks down the freaking street.
That isn’t just about climate change but a healthy lifestyle. We are one of, if not the most unhealthiest country in the develop world.

If you live close to your work or within a distance where public transportation is available, that's a great idea. Cutting down on pollution when it's practical only makes sense. But it won't work for a lot of people. I highly doubt anyone has suggested you ride a bike 20 miles to and from work.

Man I’ve seen that too. When it comes to being active, we are very INACTIVE as a nation.
We got people so lazy that they start taking their fitness seriously when it’s already too late.
Too many places in this country have people acting like walking or biking is a disease. Obviously I’m not talking about the people who live out the way and have to drive. I’m talking about he fact that the majority of the population lives in an urban/suburb environment.
Like, it’s not even about being overweight. We got so many people who are just flat out obese.
I’m tired of seeing people in those Walmart power carts simply cause they’re too big to move.
And oddly enough, our health, or lack thereof, ties into climate change, as our disgusting diet in this country is why our agriculture is the way it is, with how they raise chickens and other livestock and such to meet the demand of fast food restaurants and all this other crap.
And people don’t talk enough about that. So many people die every day in this country simply because of a long history of unhealthy lifestyles.

A large group of young people in my neighborhood decided it was time to shut down the government with a march. They put down their controllers, turned off their games, created protest signs and printed them out. They wore red bandannas as they left the house. Three of them were almost immediately overcome by the Sun, while the rest made it across the street before being out of breath and returning home.

And millions more around the globe made your post look foolish as usual.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Yes, almost as foolish as the smell of all those protest buses heading into DC this morning.
