Looking at just Browns RB I see a mixture of Kevin Mack and Leroy Kelly ...
I loved both of these guys but my memory of Leroy Kelly was not one of speed. Kelly seemed to be a "mudder" and ran on his toes, or so it appeared. His shoulders also appeared to move sideways when he ran. Strange running style to me.
My other memory of Leroy was his brother Pat Kelly played for the White Sox and other MLB teams IIRC. My memory did not have to be great for that because it seemed to get mentioned a lot of TV games.
Alexander w/the Seahawks and briefly w/the 'Skins.
Muncie w/the Chargers and Saints.
Rodgers w/the 'Skins and Saints.
Also, do you remember Chuck Foreman w/the Vikings?
Chubb has some the good qualities and style of all those guys.
Vers you have mentioned a lot about Chubb's character being outstanding. I love players like that but I can't say I recall specifics. Can you elaborate some "stories" you are aware of. I enjoy rooting for players I respect.

He was a mudder but he had a second gear similar to Chubb, remember he was one of the top PR of his era for a reason ...
John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
Here are a few links and video. But, even more than that.........it's how Chubb carries himself. He is not a "look-at-me" guy. He is an extremely hard worker who shows up and does his job very well. He doesn't seek attention or even want it. He didn't complain or hold grudges when he wasn't starting. He kept quiet and balled. I really respect guys like that.
Leroy Kelly, in a 10-year tenure with the Cleveland Browns from 1964 through 1973, established himself as one of the most feared ball carriers in the history of the National Football League.
Overall, he rushed for 7,274 yards and ranked among the top 20 all-time rushers until midway through 1993 season. He added 2,281 yards on 190 pass receptions and excelled as a punt and kickoff return specialist, particularly in his early years in the NFL. His combined net yards total of 12,330 on rushes, receptions and returns ranks him among the best ever.
Kelly was an eighth-round pick of the Browns in the 1964 draft after a fine four-year career at Morgan State. For his first two years, he was an understudy to Jim Brown, the most prolific ground-gainer in history up to that time. When Brown retired just before the 1966 campaign, Kelly filled the void in a manner seldom seen in pro football circles.
For the next three years, he rushed for 1,000 yards, winning All-NFL honors each year and being selected as a starter in three straight Pro Bowls. Kelly also played in three other Pro Bowls following the 1969, 1970 and 1971 seasons, and earned first-team All-NFL in 1969 and 1971.
During his career, he won four individual statistical championships, including NFL rushing titles in 1967 and 1968. In 1965, he won the NFL punt return title, an honor he repeated in the AFC in 1971. Noted as an exceptionally fine runner on muddy fields, the 6-0, 202-pound Kelly favored the famed Browns trap play up the middle for his major yardage ventures but he was equally devastating on sweeps or as a receiver. HIS QUICK STARTING ABILITY, ALONG WITH A SINCE OF BALANCE AND KNACK OF EVADING DIRECT HITS BY TACKLERS, kept him relatively injury-free, missing only four games in 10 years and never more than one game per season.
John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
I see Alexander and Muncie ... not seeing rogers ... in witch way u see rogers in Chubb ... oh god ... please the can of worms i just opened alone ... *L* ...
I told you before we drafted him Diam that he was my #1 RB in the draft (in part because we did not need to use our 1st or our 4th selections).

THanks Vers. Good stuff. like I said, I prefer to root for "good guys". I read about Christian Kirksey and his family also. I would love to see more athletes less interested in gold jewelry. expensive cars and more about helping those less fortunate.
I also am pretty confident that many do so without that word getting out.
Gale Sayers???? Jamal Lewis is my take. Big, strong back with better shiftiness and both had really deceptive speed when they break through.
I Just meant that when he's flat out running it looks slow because each stride is soo long. It's deceptive because He covers so much ground when he opens up

Good take. Earlier in the game, I made a comment to my son that it doesn't look like Chubb is running fast, but he is getting by guys. He started laughing because he liked Chubb in the draft way more than I did.
But yeah, you are right. He doesn't look like he's fast, but in fact, he really is. Nice call by you.
Man, that’s a pretty jacked high school kid lol ... he’s no doubt a freak
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
Thanks everyone for talking about this guy. It's really great to look into what kinda guy he is. Vers' description of what he's like (as much as we can know about the guy) is really cool.
I want a Nick Chubb jersey.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
This PC is pretty boring. But, I am going to post it because you can see how Nick Chubb is uncomfortable in the limelight, how he gives credit to others, how important this game is to him, and how focused he is on football. I was not thrilled by this draft choice, but I was wrong.
Chubb is the ideal RB, teammate, and representation of our franchise IMO. Tough, humble, fabulous

Does anyone else find it odd that there is no logo, no team name, no nothing on Chubb's uniform in highschool?
Every other athlete in the photos has a school name, or a logo. I have never been to a high school sporting event where there isn't SOME kind of name or logo on the uniform.
I like Chubb - a lot. But I have to wonder about the pictures.
I was a sprinter in high school, but chose to play baseball. I ask that you check out a couple of things. See his left hand? Ideal. Always turn your fingers to the sky for less wind resistance. Also, note his head position and compare it to the dude who is third. Never, ever......tilt your chin up like the 3rd dude did. Now, look at Chubb's feet. Truly fast dudes spend a ton of time w/their feet off the ground. I know that sounds weird, but it's true...y'all. LOL
I don't hate him. I love him. He's a stud back, no doubt. He should be getting the ball more - as he did against the ravens. I just question the photos, and I've pointed out why I question them.
Add this: If that was him as a senior in high school, he's gained no muscle definition in the past 4 years?
That pic is cool as can be. But, for folks who want to learn a little bit...I encourage you to look at Chubb's body posture. Feet underneath him, balanced arms, and most importantly, the shoulders leaning forward. That's the difference between falling forward and being stood up when being tackled. This dude has sound RB mechanics.
The guy in second does. The guy in 3rd has something on his left shoulder. Chubb has something on his right chest.
Then, check out the red stripe on Chubb's right leg.
They all have the same pants, so I'd guess they are all on the same team/from the same school. Does it matter? Gonna photoshop 2 teens and 1 stud with the same pants? Probably not.
Nah, it doesn't matter really. Other than, I've never seen 3 athletes from the same school wearing 3 different uniforms. And Chubb with shorts that have a stripe that goes .........really, behind him.

To me it looks like the stripe on the right leg goes off his pants and is up in the air.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
